The sneery, condescending tone is what bothers me too. Been following her years and years and it's always been there. I absolutely cannot stand when she does a story from a hospital waiting room and says 'Don't DM me asking what's wrong with me'. Like, the only reason we know you're in a waiting room is because you've shown us!! Feel free to not film yourself there for Insta, and to keep your private life private, and noone will DM you about it!! I've taken a break from watching her recently.

She's started getting lots of freebie books in recent years, so I assume that's why she's possibly dishonest with her reviews - because she wants the freebies to continue.
Oh stop, she has one up today from another waiting room. "Routine, so nothing to worry about." Yeah, we're not worried...no one asked to see it. Obviously very unfortunate that she got ill, but I had a major issue with how she handled it online. First she said she wasn't going to discuss it online, but was happy to put together a post so she could get likes and attention. Then she went on to mention it all the time, but didn't provide any detail. I had an issue because there are people following her who have cancer, or their loved ones do, and I imagine they find it difficult not to compare their situations. "I don't need any further treatment" and "I'm lucky to be here" in the same post.

I find her more and more unbearable. She's happy to cast judgement in a sneery way online - especially when it comes to posting about Gaza - but if anyone gets in touch to comment or offer her their point of view, it's: NO UNSOLICITED ADVICE PLEASE I'M FINE THANKS. So why are you putting your whole life out on Instagram so?

This is turning into a bit of a rant but I can't stand how her and that other book reviewer have joined forces and just promote each other's content all the time. I can't think of her first name but she runs that book club for "tired" Mammies. I used to follow her when the book club started but have found now she's all about her "brand". And she posts feck all honest book reviews anymore - same as Fancy Pants, it's all just blurbs of books they got for free. I unfollowed her as I couldn't take the constant ads that she hadn't labelled as ads. Her and Fancy Pants constantly just promoting each other is withering...no interest.

Yes I generally like her reviews but when i see her do Irish authors and maybe tagging them as if she knows them or has gotten the book for free I always take the review with a pinch of salt. Rosemary MacCabes book wud be an example. Wat a life thou kid in full time childcare so she can read books 🤷‍♀️
She tags everyone, politicians and other bloggers and influencers as well. Anyone with a bit of a following. I don't believe her Irish book reviews at all. She's at a launch event for the book and tagging the author...of course she's going to be positive. It's all an ad but she's not labelling it as such.

Under the weather again. Love how she leads with that to explain why she probably won't be at the protest. Nothing to do with the protest obvs, but she is regularly ill and can't go to things that she's told other people they "should" be at. Also the rant on her stories?! Why is she the self-appointed content police? People can posts what they want. Just because she has decided to be vocal about a cause, doesn't mean she has the right to tell other people what to do. She has no idea what pressures they are facing behind their accounts or what their views are.

In fairness, her account is gone a bit shite and of course people (followers) are entitled to comment on it. And what does she consider mean? People speaking about her inability to be honest and follow the rules of social media as a self-proclaimed influencer? That's not mean, that's just calling it as it is. If she's upset by these comments, then she shouldn't be putting herself out publicly on social media, end of.

Totally get the point about her "annual Galway trip". I don't think her and "himself" have ever gone away and brought the child, unless extended family have gone along too to mind her. And when she is on hols with the child, there's always a sick day, or a day that she takes for herself. I think she's a selfish moanbag with notions about herself.

I loved her posts when she was living in New York. Thought she really showed interesting places to visit, greatplaces to eat that someone just visiting might not know about and loved the Trader Joes hauls. Since they’ve come back I find her less likeable. I would never offer advice to anyone online but I don’t like when she posts something & then immediately says - no advice/suggestions needed. Don’t post then - people are usually just being kind if they offer an opinion.

Surprise surprise! She has a sick child and can't make it to the march. But we get a lecture on how important it is to go and support Palestinian people. Thanks for telling us that from your self-made throne, Fancy Arse. Her brain twin Tired Mammy is also explaining herself on her stories while also saying how important the march is. Thanks girls. Jaysus, if we didn't have you as our leaders, we'd be walking around aimlessly in life.

Another three free books from Harper Collins Ireland today. She did seven stories about them and not a single '#ad' or '#gifted', or anything to show that they're ads on any of the stories 😡
I think she thinks she can slip under the ASAI's radar since she's 'only' a book account. If anyone feels like reporting her this is the link: https://www.asai.ie/make-a-complaint/social-media-influencer-reporting/

I'd say she'd hate to be publicly named and shamed by the ASAI!
I reported her, with screenshots. That's been bugging me for ages.

A thread on Mrs Fancypants! I used to really enjoy her content but there was always something about her tone that seemed sneery and condescending. I feel like she thinks she is so much better than everyone else, and there is no room to disagree with her. An example recently would be her shop in IKEA, where she was bitching she couldn't find a blanket because it was in the wrong place. I am guessing people responded asking why she didn't just ask where they were, and she posted a passive aggressive story saying she had the ability to look herself. That's what I mean...you can't tell her anything. I also do wonder about her always being sick at convenient times, like AFTER she comes back from a trip, or when there's a public march on.

Yeah I do think she likes the high life. She still thinks she's in NY, living the life of a consultant's wife, reading and sauntering around museums and cafés! :p It annoys me how much of her content screams "look how much I have!". She's seems awful materialistic like with her TWO expensive advent calendars "himself" got her. Especially for someone who's so preachy. "I NEVER FREQUENT STARBUCKS but fair play to the boycotters" :cautious:
The “himself” talk makes me sick 🤢

She's turning into an insta hun - no '#ad' or '#gifted' on her posts today about the new book she got from Harper Collins. She tagged them and the Harper PR person alright though 🙄
And the flowers are tagged as #gifted on her grid alright, but she didn't bother tagging on her story.
Must think the ASAI rules don't apply to her!
If there's one thing that really bothers me, it's when 'influencers' beg for likes on content. There's fancypants today turning her free flowers shot into a reel and they asking us to interact with it. Why? So she can get more views? Or so that she can continue to get free 'blooms'
---
Also, I saw that in the ad about her and Tired Mammy's event in Lucan Library, they're both referred to as 'social media influencers'. Give me strength...

Does it bug anyone else that she never, ever, labels any free books or other things she gets sent for free as #ad? She's so privileged she can't be bothered to label her ads. I just think honesty is SO important and shows respect for your followers.

Also they seem to always be sick.

Not her lecturing all of us plebs about supporting problematic authors, when she went to the launch of a book last week by an author who lied about having cancer! And her a "cancer survivor" herself. She's a melt!

Ah you're right. I remember now. It was the type of cancer she kept quiet. I assumed cervical at the time as she had mentioned in her stories shortly before that that she was going to her smear. Pure speculation on my part, but that's what happens when you tell but don't tell.
If I'm correct, it could actually have been very helpful for her followers to see that if you get diagnosed early you might only need surgery and not chemo or radiation. Would have been good to share a 'positive' cancer story, and maybe it would have encouraged more women to go for their smears.

Anyway, it's her own business what she shares, but as you say, nobody on insta needed to see her go for a scan yesterday when she is so secretive about the whole thing. It's definitely about the attention for her.
Absolutely her call, but if she's saying she's not going to talk about it online, it's misleading. It was early detection I believe she said - and she didn't need chemo or radiation as you said - but I think she was in hospital for a good few days after surgery. Remember she had all those posts up about hospital food and practising walking again 🙄. I won't be talking about this, but here's my hospital day minute by minute.
---
Four more stories today advertising Harper Collins books, with no #ad or anything at all to indicate they're ads. Cheeky!
I saw that! She can't and won't be told 😂

Filming in the hospital again today. Is it the first time she's actually said it was cancer she had last year? I wish her well, of course, but these types of stories are attention seeking, and if you're not open to people asking you about your experience I do think it should be kept off social media. People on SM only know about her cancer in the first place because she told us.
She had a big post about being diagnosed with cancer on top of an autoimmune issue. She never named the cancer and that's what I thought was problematic. She said she wasn't going to talk about it online but then proceeded to talk about it constantly without mentioning the type of cancer. For people suffering from cancer and seeing that she didn't need treatment after surgery, it would be difficult not to compare. Even yesterday - why mention having a scan to check all your organs for cancer? I imagine that could cause anxiety for someone else wondering if they should be doing the same, or comparing their treatments. And of course she could say people shouldn't compare, but this drip feed, almost teasing information is annoying. I think she loves the attention to be honest. Of course you would never wish that upon anyone, but how she drops it into her stories at times is just completely cringe.

Totally agree with all of this!! Ridiculous that she's posted another waiting room story today. This 'don't dare DM me about it' attitude is so disrespectful to her followers, many of who have loyally followed her for years and are probably genuinely worried about her health issues. She could so easily have chosen to say nothing and noone would have known about her cancer. And it's not new behaviour either. Doesn't she have some other, longterm (immune?) health issue too? The reason why she was originally on a career break, I think. She's been ordering people for years not to dare ask her what condition she has.

I know what you mean about her and that Tired Mammy one too. I think this is what made me give up watching Fancy Pants daily, after following her for years. They come across so cliquey and kinda above everyone else, and added to the undeclared ads, it became unwatchable for me. She used to be one of the few genuine Insta people, who didn't seem to be in it for the freebies, but that's all changed now.
