That was my next question, along with what is racism (not what it isn't, what it actually is).
I’d say racism is discriminating against someone because of their skin colour. Not culture.
I’d say it isn’t not wanting Britain overrun with people who aren’t British, whatever colour they are

Demographics have changed massively since mass immigration
Can’t really be arsed to discuss in detail tonight
Taking some time for self care

This country has always been full of people who aren't British. Look at the many Irish who came over here in the 18th century, building much of the infrastructure of this country such as canals and railways. When Portugese Jews came over here, they introduced us to that most "English" of food, fish and chips.

This country has always relied on immigration, and pretty much all of its traditions and culture come from other countries. I guess going out with the aim of getting completely paralytic is quite an English "value" though, since we excel at it far more than the rest of the world.

Don't forget that traditional staple of British culture ....the Indian curry.

Well, I thought it might be too obvious to point out. But indeed, there's nowt as British as curry.

Nigel being a patriot is a massive wind-up too. He is out for himself and doesn't give a toss about this country. If he did, he wouldn't have championed the destructive ideology of Brexit, which is an immense act of self-harm, running the country down all for the benefits of the very rich such as Aaron Banks, who just happened to bankroll Farage.

I'm sure plenty of countries in the past didn't want to be overrun by foreign invaders of a different colour/culture... but that's history for you.

Assuming you've actually done some research into Farage's ties with / possible funding from shady far-right groups & libertarian think-tanks all over the world, can you explain why he should be upheld as some sort of patriotic pro-British crusader?

Also, how do you account for decades of anti-Irish discrimination in the UK if you don't see it as racist?

Is that not more of a class discrimination, as they always thought the Irish were beneath them? Not sure how that is racist.

First point fair enough :) Third point nah white Irish aren’t a separate race from white British. Kind of off topic tho
As for the far right groups, all I can find are reports of groups that don’t share the accepted lefty view branded as ‘far right’? Examples below being a Donald Trump group that’s called racist for no apparent reason, its manifesto focuses on free speech, and an anti vaccine group that’s called conspiracist. It’s all so hyperbolic
---
UKIP is also not an ‘extreme right wing party’

What is it with the constant comparisons to serial killers when there’s no intelligent argument? Silly Philly (and all the rest)
It's completely OTT
Hitler, Fred West 😄
He's a mild mannered non politician. It certainly certainly keeps the fred thread lively :D

^ I wasn't comparing Farage to Fred West in any way whatsoever. I was making the point that if you're claiming that UKIP isn't far right, that is akin to saying that Fred West was a nice chap. i.e. nonsense.

Ok, but most people associate Fred West with being a serial killer and not a nice man, so when a comparison is made with people who aren't murderers it's over the top imo. If you think that UKIP is far right then I don't have a problem with that, but most people would say for example the BNP was far right and quite rightly banned if they were dangerous so if UKIP were far right wouldn't they be banned?

UKIP doesn't even exist any more afaik as its only aim was Brexit. It's now Reform UK. So it's just calling Brexit far right 😂

Nigel's flaw really is that he's power and money hungry and does stupid, greedy things. He's not perfect by any means. But he's not a monster.
