This evening's vlog is 100% a Tattle press conference:
shots of her wiping and hoovering the 2nd hand furniture, after comments here about the general mankiness;
her using a power tool to flex her DIY skills, to show she can do more than slop on paint;
letting us know the ill-proportioned dirty cream fabric sofas are temporary until others are delivered;
landowner Nicki allowing Carlo to believe he can drive around "his land"
(after our comments that he is resident there at her whim as she was the sole signatory to the property and they aren't married);
the bedroom with the view is no longer called "Skye's bedroom" but is a room that might be used by "other guests" (however I bet Tommaso will be in that box room with the air hole in the ceiling);
needing another car in case Carlo has to go back to Positano (this is a Patreon beg).

I hope the house in Tuscany doesn’t turn out to be an impulse buy of future nightmares. Huge red flags started waving as soon as I saw what’s more or less a wooden shed that the previous owners tacked on to the main body of the house. Now, having watched the latest video and “tour”, the red flags are waving in a gale of uncertainty. Did the owners get permission for creating the additional space attached to the house? Is the presence of the “extension” all correctly documented in the deeds? Is every t crossed and i dotted about work carried out (the extension) by the previous owners? Was no stone left unturned to be as certain as possible that there was no reason for the commune (civil district) to suddenly flex its muscles, even it’s going back years and way before a new owner buys the property.
That aside, I think that Nicki and Carlo were beguiled by the land, the position and the view, while the house was almost incidental. Plus, Nicki was desperate buy and reinvest the money from the sale of the property in England. Nicki said that they’d only spent about 10 minutes looking inside the house before they took possession. To me, that’s madness. However, they first viewed the property last summer. T spring and summer is a seller’s optimum time to have a house on the market. It’s easy for potential purchasers to be seduced by the outside as everything looks glorious. You can become blind to everything else.
The house has the strangest layout and, even using my most creative imagination, I can’t see how it could ever be a comfortable, friendly home.
Red flags and a chorus of “caveat emptor”. I wouldn’t have touched the place with a barge pole. That said, there’s a million miles of YT content ahead which, I suppose, is a plus.
(Why, why, why is the fireplace just inside the double doors and on the working side of the kitchen? Why, why, why are the double doors not centred? Both things make me twitch!)

Yeah, when Nicki sighed, rolled her eyes and said „no comment“ over the precious owners taking down those walls (after they had seen the house!) I just thought „go and find out why!!“ That seems important, and nothing to just brush over. But they don’t seem to be in contact with those people anymore. Nicki can forget about them picking up the trash they left behind.
Not to bang on about it (I really am thinking I sound tin-foil like I know!) but the no mention or care of a bedroom for Carlo's son just tells me that neither Carlo or his son plan on spending any time there. That, plus the idea of the second car... yes, a second car is useful, it's an interesting time for the issue to be raised I think.
I physically laughed when she said her bedroom was feeling 'homely' - there isn't a single piece of furniture in that house with any sense of cohesiveness at all. I know tastes are subjective but god is it just so weird. A boho rug, a battered medieval-style trunk, a £5 white metal Ikea coat rack, and every wooden item in a different varnish, finish and grain... oh, and add on some industrial metal lamps. And a wicker basket. The dog's tennis ball is the homliest thing in there. 'Homely' is photos, heirlooms, furnishings that mean something - not crap you've picked up from the flea market.
It's so obvious she's trying to go for the effortlessly chic, I-didn't-try-at-all-but-it-looks-fantastic concept. Nicki will just never achieve that. Everything she does just has this overtone of desperation.
Regardless of the property itself, the old owners behaviour was so odd as to be a huge red flag for me. Asking for extra time then leaving late OK the day months later and taking lightbulbs etc .. something really odd about it all

I haven't watched it yet (and tbh probably wont) but I wonder if her buying this came about because the relationship is on the rocks, not having rooms for carlo or is son would indicate that)

She rolls her eyes about the ex-owners taking random fixtures and fittings. I mean shut up about it, those inconsequential bits were either included in the contract or not, so sue, or don't sue.
As for the crap the old owners left behind - what's the timeline with that? Unless the contract indicates otherwise, I'd be letting them know it was available for collection inside the front gate within the next 7 days, after which it will be destroyed.

As for the crap the old owners left behind - what's the timeline with that? Unless the contract indicates otherwise, I'd be letting them know it was available for collection inside the front gate within the next 7 days, after which it will be destroyed.

I could not believe I heard her twice say they were coming back for some furniture and then all that JUNK IN that shed type room. Is she crazy.? THOSE PEOPLE ARE NEVER COMING BACK EVER> the place is not appealing at all.

Right?? If she wasn’t able to properly communicate with them before moving in (about what’s to be left behind, the walls, etc), what makes her think she’s ever going to get hold of them over picking up that junk? Delusional.
I believe the house was a repossession, as the process got drawn out and it was explained that third parties were involved to bring about the eventual sale. That would explain the weird behaviour of the previous owners.
The London property might not have been sold, it might have been remortgaged and YouTube income covers repayments.
I think she holds a lot of resentment about it too. But I think she's got that horrible ingrained need to be unique or better than everyone else. And initially her idea was instead to go off and be the exotic, unique, wife of an Italian living the high life in the Mediterranean. I think she likes being the centre of attention - and initially Positano gave that to her, as a 'unique' Brit who can speak Italian and ISN'T a tourist!!! But then of course it becomes rather normal, and she needs to move on to something/someplace new.
People like this will never, ever be happy - because they simply aren't happy in themselves.
I believe she inherited the London property many years ago, in which case it would have realised a substantial increase in value which would be easily leveraged to fund the purchase of HER Tuscan property via equity release.
.......and don't forget the tortoise/s? I hope they know how to look after it when it comes out of hibernation. Someone will need to check on it regularly, feed and water it, if Nikki is going to be away for long periods of time, either back in Positano, or visiting friends or the UK regularly.
I am not sure what to make of Carlo's sudden disappearance just before her big birthday celebrations, I hope all is well with his family. But, what I do find odd is just how much of those strange overgrown pathways he has cleared in such a short time. Surely his time and energy is better spent getting the house sorted, the lights fixed and the leaks repaired etc., rather than bothering with clearing paths. I know he said he liked to do it when he wants a break from the house, but he seems to have done a huge amount. It's very tiring work, especially all that bamboo. Maybe he just wants a bit of peace and quiet.
It also seems so very strange that they have bought a property and they don't actually know which part of the adjoining land belongs to them. It seems there are strips right by their house that they do not own, but parts further in the valley that are theirs? Maybe that is the way in Italy, and everything is fine as long as you get along well with your neighbours, but things can change and I would definitely not buy a property unless I knew exactly which bits of the surrounding land I owned and was responsible for. The information that they currently have seems to be coming word of mouth from the neighbours who, let's be honest, could tell them anything they wanted - including claiming extra bits of Carlo's land as their own??
Yes! My initial thought was the neighbour proactively turning up to tell Carlo what land belongs to him - that's a bit pushy and indicative of him wanting to take more than is actually his. Surely they'd have received the deeds which state exactly what they own... the neighbour is chancing their luck I think.
I assumed she is autistic and that is why she has that tone and way of speaking

That's an interesting thought. I always presumed it was so dead-sounding because it was just straight off a written script. Might explain her social difficulties.
Huh, I always thought she had a pretty strong lisp that she is trying to suppress while on camera, her being autistic hadn’t crossed my mind tbh
I thought the lisp was due to dental work because there's a marked difference in appearance if you look at the very early vlogs.
