Do they ask you questions like tell me about yourself? Why the Nhs? Dealing with difficult customer
DEFINITELY the trusts values. I had tell me about yourself, can you tell me what you know about the nhs 18 week rtt, what would You do if You were struggling to find a patients details, you’ve got to call a patient and cancel their operation last minute do to staff shortages - the patient is upset and distressed, how do you handle the phone call.

Sooooo….I have some good news.
I got a call from the person who had been given my details & application from the job I didn’t get before. She was asking me a few questions but nothing ‘interview’ like, but we had a formal chat about my experience & skills.
long story short, she offered me the job there and then!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉 She was happy with the previous interview score I got, and my application and having a chat over the phone so towards the end of the call she said ‘well I’m pleased to tell you, Id like to offer you the job, congratulations!
I was speechless, I couldn’t believe it! I had to submit another application for this role and the teams interview was 22nd, but I no longer have to do that now.

I’m so happy!!!thank you everyone on the thread for your kind words xx
Well done!! So happy for you! 🥰 xx

Are you already in the NHS? Have you got an interview lined up?

They could do, my interviews have been clinical based though. I haven’t been asked about why the nhs ever. Doesn’t mean they won’t ever ask it though. They might say ‘what skills can you offer us?’ or similar and will very likely ask about a difficult customer.

have a look on this thread some helpful info.

Are you already working in NHS?
I’m a band 3 - I want to go to a 4 but it involves going full time 😬 I would mainly say try and relate experience/examples you have in your current post to questions they ask.
I fid a little research about the service before mine so I knew what they did/ what to expect.
Good luck xx
Ooh fab thank you I’ve not seen this thread. Nope I work in a completely different industry so im a tad nervous and no idea what to expect!

Ask these qsts. What will a typical day entail, who will be my Line Manager, why has the position become available, is there a possibility to work from home, will I be assigned a mentor etc etc. I’ve interviewed around 40 people and like it when I’m asked these types of questions. End by saying I’m unique because…fill in the blanks and good luck 🤞
Thank you 🥰

I love tattle cause I know someone will always have an answer so here I go ☺

I’ve got a job interview coming up for a band 4 admin role in the NHS. Any tips at all? I’ve got to nearly 30 and somehow never had a formal interview 🙈 I hit all the criteria for the person and job specification, just don’t wanna cock up when it comes to my interview!

Is it acceptable to bring notes with me to the interview? I don’t think my brain will retain all of this 😂
I’ve always taken notes with me to interviews and at some points have asked do you mind if I refer to my notes - but mainly when they ask if there’s any questions.
My notes are generally just bullet points to help answer certain types of questions or a reminder of scenarios
I’ve had feedback that it shows you do your research and are well prepared.

Congratulations on getting an interview. They may ask you about how you organise your time and have a think about the Trust’s values (because they’re hot on that). I’ve had a few interviews via teams now and I’ve found sticking my notes around my laptop helps (I’ve used water bottles, juice bottles, anything tall and stuck with masking tape). They usually last about 30-40 minutes, I’ve found. Good luck!

Hey guys, from experience, how long does the actual process of being offered the job to officially starting because I think it’s going to put me in an early grave because I’m so anxious... is it normal to feel like this when waiting for your start date? I don’t even know why! I’ve passed all my checks and every time I email HR they literally take a week to reply 😭
Every trust I’ve worked for seem to be so slow - my last job I had my interview in August, did all checks worked my months notice but still no start date - ended up starting in November and then had to wait til January for a full induction

Hey guys I thought I would just let you know I got the job ☺ I’ve actually turned it down as I’ve realised it’s too many hours and I’ve got a small baby but fear not, I’ve got 2 more applications pending for a 3 day role doing virtually the same thing in a different department, so keeping my fingers crossed. I feel really silly that I’ve turned it down but I knew it wasn’t right for me. If anything, it’s given me fantastic experience and I’ll let you know how I get on with the others 🙈
What questions did they ask

Amazing! Well done xxx

Got another interview for a different department, same banding. This time it’s a zoom meeting 🤭
I’m actually more nervous about this one, I’m much better if I’m face to face with the person who’s asking the questions 😵💫
I’m sure it’ll be ok
I know what sort of questions to expect so I hope I can be as confident as before
Well done on getting the interview! I’ll have my fingers crossed for you. I know what you mean - I was defo more nervous about it being a video call. Good luck, you’ll be fab! 😊💕
