I want to lose another 4 stone, already lost 6 this year.
I want to get fitter and not just sit watching tv every night
Read at least 50 books
Look after myself properly (skincare and hair)

I have written them in my new diary today to remind me what I want to achieve

The part about cleaning hits close to home. I always promise myself I'll spend lots of time on a hobby on a day off but always end up cleaning first then run out of time and energy for anything else!

Mine are:
Stop scrolling social media and stop arguing with people online 😅
Continue with a hobby I picked up this year
Read more books than this year (not settling a target this time, just a bit more than this year)
Improve on procrastinating with easy tasks (like making a phone call etc)
Run a 25 min 5k

I have a few more in mind but need to think about them a bit more

Omg yes I do that wit the cleaning. Arguing with people is one of my favourite things to do especially when I called Jason mansford a bleep on twitter and he replied

Eat and drink less.
Actually do the various house jobs I’ve had a list of all of this year. It’s not even big stuff!

I want to be happy next year , I don't particularly feel happy now.
-I'm going to mope around less , and do things like going for walks , and getting fresh air. Or even dancing round the house to get my endorphins going .
- do something out of the ordinary on a fairly regular basis
- I'm looking for a part time job. If I don't find one , I may consider voluntary work . Hopefully I'll get a sense of accomplishment.
- have regular one to one activities with my small children.
-Remember that some things aren't ' me problems'

If I'm not feeling any happy after doing these , it may be that I need to look at other solutions.

- Dry January and, ideally, give up for good
- Lose half a stone
- Spend less time on phone scrolling through clickbait news stories and online shopping, and read more books instead
- Find some creative hobbies, I'd like to start drawing and playing keyboard again, enjoyed that as a child and teen

Love this idea! The trouble is I only have full size bottles of Prosecco leftover from Christmas for when I reach my goals 🤣

I’ve tried to keep most of resolutions quite vague/broad so I don’t put all the pressure on myself:

- Dry January
- Lose 2 stone (and 2 pounds lol)
- Be generally more happy and laidback and try to control my reactions to situations better.
- Save money and stop buying unnecessary things so we can save up the money for a house.
- Be more present and enjoy the moment and each day for what it is.

I’ve just created different pots in my banking app and named them for different things I’m saving for and it’s made me more excited and motivated to save now 😁

Time to revive this thread?

I've read through the aims I put last year. and I think on the whole I've achieved them although I'm not happy all the time ( I think most of the time the when I'm not happy, it is the fault of other people)

My 2026 aims are
To have small scale new experience and visit new places fairly regularly
To continue developing my running and take part in an organised race
Redecorate parts of the house and spruce up other parts
Calm my nervous system

I've only achieved one out of 5 😬 my running one didn't happen because of an injury. It's overall has been quite a tit year.

I've already wrriten down my goals for new year but this time I decided to make them a lot clearer.

So last year i had to stop scrolling social media (which has been on the list for a few years now lol) but i realised it's just not specific enough. So this time i have a screen time reduction goal, daily time limits set per the key apps i waste time on, and a list of things i want to replace scrolling with.

I've been dying my hair dark since I was 15/16 or so. I'm in my 40s now. I absolutely detest my natural blonde hair. However, I'm on a lot of medication so the dye doesn't really take anymore, or last as long as it should. I also lack the energy to dye it with my fatigue. So I've decided I am going to start letting it grow out. I am going to try my hardest to at least. I'm not bothered about how it will look as it grows out, just the blonde itself, so I might get to a point where I say f this and dye it again. But I'm going to try really hard to not do that. It's a waste of time, energy and money to keep dying it, if I am being honest with myself. So it's my resolution of sorts.

Ive had a very rough year so havent kept to any of my resolutions. To be honest, we're lucky we made it through in one piece!
My resolutions this year

- lose 2 stone and get in the best shape possible
- avoid doom scrolling
- just embrace getting older (something I struggle so badly with!)
- enjoy the little things and celebrate the little wins
