New Year Resolutions

Move house and change jobs are my aims. Also to get pregnant after a miscarriage but that’s not so much a resolution but a wish.

On a more surface level, definitely get outdoors more and start reading again. I used to read all the time years ago until social media took over.

Quit booze. Had my last drink on 24th so got a clear run into the new year alcohol-free.
Clear credit card. Only 2K and was making progress but had a big splurge before xmas.

Less scrolling mindlessly.
Read more books.
Carry on with my workouts and steps - was doing great on this until early December then got ill and Christmas!
Mindful drinking, enjoy it rather than guzzle!

As well has having some small aims , that I'll share if asked, I'm privately working on my mind. I need to work on how I think about things and try to to overthink and obsess of what I can't control. Not sure the best way to do that . I might write things down that are in my head , and then learn to pause the thought until it is time for any action.
The other thing is to not automatically think I can't do something. I need to reframe my thoughts to that it may be a challenge, and how can I overcome these challenges as a process.

Love this idea! The trouble is I only have full size bottles of Prosecco leftover from Christmas for when I reach my goals 🤣

I’ve tried to keep most of resolutions quite vague/broad so I don’t put all the pressure on myself:

- Dry January
- Lose 2 stone (and 2 pounds lol)
- Be generally more happy and laidback and try to control my reactions to situations better.
- Save money and stop buying unnecessary things so we can save up the money for a house.
- Be more present and enjoy the moment and each day for what it is.

I’ve just created different pots in my banking app and named them for different things I’m saving for and it’s made me more excited and motivated to save now 😁
Quoting myself from last year to confirm I broke all of the above resolutions 😂 although I must say I definitely enjoyed the little things more and tried to see the good in the everyday.

I can confirm:

I will not be doing Dry January as I opted for happiness over misery.
I have even more weight to lose than last year but very motivated to do so.
I have actually saved money towards our house last year so that will continue!!

My main resolution this year is to slowly go vegan or as close to it as possible. I’m making small changes to remove all animal products from my diet and have started with changing my dairy milk to soy milk and I actually enjoy it in my coffees!

Happy 2026 everyone!!!
