Starting a new thread, as discussions about Gaiman had taken over the Amanda Palmer thread.

I think they will probably be trying to work out if they can go ahead with series 3 without his involvement, or if they should can it all together.

There has also been some news in last few days that Disney is no longer looking at moving forward on The Graveyard book. However, as they have been trying to get that film going for years, they may just be using what has happened to drop a failing project.

I have seen some rumours about this over last few days and it looks like it has been confirmed.

I feel sad for the fanbase, I know that there are some people who the show means a lot to, and theh will be disappointed that it isn't a full series. However I think they are also quite lucky that this is happening at all now.

There’s a Facebook group that I (was) in called something like ‘Neil gaiman being wholesome’ and I’d completely forgotten I was even in it until it showed up on my timeline today with the owner of the group just begging people to leave the group because she was SO upset and triggered by the ‘Vulture’ article that she didn’t have the spoons to have anything to do with it anymore. I felt SO sorry for her.
The article is such a hard read. What an absolute piece of tit.

Disgusting scumbag. His abuse widens with every story - every abuser box ticked with the resources to bully, bribe and financially abuse women. I really don’t know how the enablers like his lawyers can live with themselves.

The details of the kid, the boundary crossing and exposing them to sexual acts, is an enormous red flag.

The details also scream porn brain.

His wife apparently knew it was all going on and served the vulnerable nanny up on a plate.

Any guy who is "Outspoken" about feminism is a wrongun. Neil is no exception.

She groomed and trafficked women. The part where she doesn’t pay the desperate nanny is an obvious way to control her and make her dependent on them.

I re-read that article. It’s so difficult for victims to see what is going on. Felt increasingly enraged at his manipulative but entirely predictable behaviour, including the abuser classics of threatening to kill himself and DARVO (he calls says to one victim ‘I thought you were a monster’), using therapy as a shield…

His money will cushion him. He will find more enablers and victims. He will disappear for a while then either try and come back as a misunderstood victim (the Scientology childhood, BDSM) or alt-right like Brand.

His work is not my cup of tea, and I am not a fan of anything to the extent of going to book signings, backstage doors etc., but I am starting to wonder if being a fan is as much a barrier to informed consent as drink or drugs. Hero-worship is very dangerous, and I think a lot of the superfans of the fantasy/comicbook genre might be particularly vulnerable because they are looking for a reassurance in the works that is missing from their lives, due to trauma or just being socially awkward. I hope they will be able to band together and get the support they need.

I saw a bit of the report that said that amanda asked him if he made sure their son 'wore his headphones' while (presumably) gaiman had sex with the nanny in a hotel room. Gaiman said 'no' and hung up.

The nanny says she was grape in that instance. That poor woman, that poor child.

I’d already stopped being an Amanda fan a few years ago after I realised how insufferable she was, but Jesus Christ, wtf…and Neil Gaiman 🤮 🤮 the parts with his son right there, absolutely disgusting. I’m a bit in shock about this I think.

Just read the article, what a terrible terrible day to be literate. Almost threw up everywhere, why do people STILL think they can get away with this disgusting behaviour in the wake of MeToo and all the rest of it? Do they not stop to think that sooner or later they're going to be outed?? Amanda definitely knew what was going and she was aiding Neil and exploiting the nanny who was vulnerable, broke and would otherwise be homeless. The sexual abuse with the son in the room is unspeakable and I feel devastated for that boy who's going to grow up and read that about himself.

I used to follow Gaiman on Twitter back in the day. I keep wondering about the people he surrounded himself with--the personal assistants, the various hangers-on who all achieved varying degrees of social media followings...what did they see/hear/know? I'm guessing the employees are covered by NDAs, but still--yuk. And his adult children? I can only imagine what they are feeling right now.

I don’t think that’s the case tbf,and in all honesty can’t recall him ever being particularly ‘outspoken’ about it (as far as I recall)
However AP has always made out that she’s some sort of ‘feminist champion’ when the grim reality is that she was a complete groomer.

My point really was, most of these lads who claim to be Allies are actually the worst type of man. They hide behind it to get access to women. And he's been one to say Believe ALL women, so lets hope he believes his victims this time too. And yeah his ex is rum. Not really shocking though, she claims to be a "Shock Rocker".

I agree that his money will cushion him. He's wealthy enough that he could never work again, or reinvent himself in any number of ways.

I'm also reminded of something I saw in an OJ documentary, where his friend said OJ couldn't believe the amount of female attention he got after the court case as he was suddenly seen by women as a bad boy. The same will happen here 🤢

I don't think it will. OJ was a rare case in that he was considered innocent by a ton of people. Neil isn't. Neil is dead to rights. Plus in a perverted way, what he did some think is worse than what OJ did.

Have you seen his denial? Not sure if I can link it https://journal.neilgaiman.com/2025/01/breaking-silence.html?m=1

You'd think this great man of literature would do better than such a series of cliches

... I haven't responded yet because I'm so respectful... I'm so sad this happened... What happened didn't happen like these misguided women think.. If it did happen I didn't mean it... I was emotionally unavailable (implying the women wanted a relationship)... I'm learning and growing... Some things happened and some didn't (I won't tell you what I am denying, as there is evidence but I'll muddy the waters)

He is an OLD p and abuser

Apparently more investigations in the pipeline.
