The trans threads on MN are really fucking upsetting and while I believe some people have good intentions, there are so many people who walk the line of transphobia, not to mention the blatant transphobes. I am all for protecting single sex slaves, especially ones when they’re extra vulnerable like domestic violence refuges and hospital warns. I’m not personally impacted but I’m actually getting sick of the same old names.
I'm a long time TERF type and I roll my eyes at the insistence of some Mumsnetters throwing in a reference to trans identifying men on every single thread. Eg. "I've never run before but would like to start can I just turn up to parkrun?
"Park run allow men to claim to be women and so the records are a sham. They cannot be trusted"

"I went on the M&S website and you still cant order to click and collect and half the range isn't there"
"M&S allow transwomen to use the changing rooms in the bra section, I hope they go bust"

"Can I use navel oranges to.make a tequila sunrise? "Navels are where we were joined to the placenta in our mothers. All humans are born from women, transwomen will never be pregnant"

Fucking give it a rest. You're making those of us fighting for single sex prison'/rape services and hospital wards etc sound absolutely unhinged.

Recent topics of discussion include tortoises and the smell of Tom Hardy's balls. Also plans afoot for an AI holiday to Barbados.

Something for everyone here.

My dad died of a heroin overdose at 33 when I was aged 2. Sometimes I like to wheel it out in conversations to make people feel awkward if they've pissed me off 😅 a MN I am not

If my kids refuse tea they get told to make themselves some toast and have a piece of fruit. I don't offer them anything. I made dinner once, that was my offering. Don't like it? Then they can sort something else themselves. I don't offer them alternatives because I'm not a waitress doing the specials of the day and they know where the toaster and bread is as well as the fruit bowl.
Those of you of a certain vintage (dementia-riddled old hags) will have heard their mothers kindly offering a choice: like it or lump it.

Apologies in advance for those of you whose mothers ghosted you, then sadly died. Before offering you something else.

My DS (35) has had a few long-term relationships, but never married. I get the feeling this one might be "the one". Because he's always had different girls hanging around when my DD had her baby she didn't feel comfortable with the constant changing of arm candy. As such we stopped inviting them all round together. He may or may not turn up to ours with a girlfriend, so we just wouldn't invite them at the same time.
He phones regularly, but we don't see him much now to be honest. When we speak I ask what he's up to and he'll mention going out with his GF's mum or meeting up with her and her sisters for an outing. I have mentioned to him that we'd like to meet her, but he keeps batting away the suggestions.
I know he knows that his sister is the reason he stopped being invited to Sunday lunch and things, I did agree with his sister, that explaining the changing of companions was awkward with a small child, which is why I allowed it. But now, this girl has been 2 years, and he is very much involved with her family. I feel like I've broken something and have no idea how to fix it.
What a cunt, hopefully the son enjoys his lovely new family since his family of origin is such a bunch of fickle fucks.

I’m going back to work soon, I’m thinking of starting a thread on how unfair it is that I can’t be a SAHM. because DH doesn’t earn six figures and my mum and stepdad refuse to die so I can’t get my inheritance. Heck, even my Nan’s still going strong at 90.

I am actually very lucky because childcare will be shared between my parents and my two sisters who live nearby (there’s one in London and one in Leeds who selfishly won’t move back to Wales) and my lovely neighbour who shares the school run. Plus I’m working condensed hours so full time but only 3 days.

Lads, I’m still dreading it! I’ve done a couple of KIT days though and enjoyed seeing my (mostly) lovely colleagues again and catching up on the gossip. Seren has left her husband and moved in with office lothario Hari whose girlfriend also works for the company, and I’m excited for the next instalment 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I know a family with children called Artemis and Boudicca.
Poor kids. I know a Beyoncé who’s about 12, little white Welsh girl, and a boy called Robbie-Williams. Williams is a very common surname in Wales, along with Evans, Davies, Owen and Jones. This kid’s surname isn’t Williams though, RW is his first name.

Someone on S&B is seriously trying to claim that calling a potato sack dress from an Irish brand 'a potato sack dress' is offensive to famine victims.

Here's another fanny in Chat
Speaking of fannies...

Forget my last offering. I vote "You want your fanny tanned?" As the next thread title!

Maybe it's because I live in a commuter town, but they don't be serving meals in first class on trains here, it's not the orient express, it's just a bigger seat!
Not even on a long distance journey?! Why would you need a bigger seat if you're not stuffing your face with 1st class food?! 🤔

late teen son
I'm obviously very dumb (it's ok though as I'm poor) because I read this and thought you meant he was dead (like "my late husband/wife" etc) 😭.
