Do you reckon the op has polled everyone who has posted on SM about Will Smith to find out their job titles 🥴

Of course, all her friends are middle class and agree with her...

There's bound to be some 'I'm not racist, but he has to be held to higher standards than literal child rapists face consequences for this totally unacceptable behaviour that shows him to be a common hoodlum, you know '

Literally no one I know has posted anything about it on social media. Ive seen a few meme’s but that’s it. That thread has either been started by a journalist or a goady fucker who’s looking for a reaction. I don’t believe it’s true at all.

I honestly can’t believe how big of a deal is being made out of it all over the news. Perhaps the media has war fatigue 🤷🏽‍♂️ I’m still not convinced it wasn’t all staged anyway.

I feel similarly!

Anybody need further evidence that Mumsnet is a stealth pro-ANA site?

Then we have a thread that actually has lots of sensible advice - like don't bleeping do this to yourself and seek medical attention (in AIBU so there's a bit of a protective effect in that). But there are still some. I've left out the 'drink gallons of water' ones because they are outweighed by the numbers saying for duck's sake, don't drink gallons of water or you'll kill yourself.

Pro-ana for the over 35’s, for sure.

All these women desperate to reach 8 stone. I’m the same height and even 8.5 stone is perfectly slim. The idea of taking yourself to Slimming World with a BMI of 21 🙄

The thing is, these women all live their lives desperate to be just a few pounds lighter because they know they’ll be happier then… except they never are.

It just makes me sad that women feel the need to do this... why?? I'm 60, 5'4", about 11 stone, so yes I could lose a stone or maybe more if I could be arsed... but honestly, it really doesnt bother me, I'd rather think about something else. I hate the desperate competitiveness to be thin/conventionally attractive/have surgery/have botox etc etc.

There was a post recently in AIBU with a mumsnetter losing it because her husband had eaten HER tin of tomato soup, when there were three chicken soups (HIS) in the cupboard and he doesn't even like tomato soup!
I couldn't be bothered to read further but of course she'd been ill, was 38 weeks pregnant blah blah, the usual.
I just thought how bizarre that you would post such a traumatic I mean trivial experience for people to be on your side. No doubt the DH was labelled as passive agressive, a sociopath or narcissist for the crime. 🙄

In reality I know very few mums who still rear face their kids past the age of 2, yet EVERYONE on Mumsnet seems to until the age of 4
Yes I know it's much safer, I don't need lecturing on it.

I haven't seen the thread in question but this is the sort of thing I might text a mate to grumble about. A lot of them don't seem to have many friends outside their marriage (competitive introversion is another of their Things 🙄) so they use the site instead, apparently not finding it at all weird to share their trivial marital complaints with a million strangers. I always think I'd be really upset if I was their partner and discovered they'd started a public forum thread to complain about some minor thing I'd done, instead of just telling me.

What are you taking about, my kid is nearly as tall as me and is still rear facing! Sure, her knees are bunched up by her chin but you can’t be too careful. She will only be allowed to face forward when she’s driving the car herself!

She posted another thread in relationships where she then detailed all the other abusive things her husband does, and the soul was final straw. She was making plans to leave as she couldn't suffer it any more.

In that case good. It was just a snapshot for me. Interesting your typo re the soup. Her fighting for her soul made the tomato soup experience key for her future. I hope she breaks free for herself & kids.

Threads like this get on my bits. Why do they always need to consult MN whenever they do something? You don’t need ‘tips’ for going to bleeping Alton Towers, its a theme park with rides. A bit of Googling will tell you all you need to know. They think MN is some kind of oracle about anything you need to know about everything.

That’s hilarious! Fair enough if their kids were toddlers/young children but taking a 14yr old and a 16 yr old, you don’t need fking tips🤯🤯 just grab a site map and let the kids go on whatever ride they want to.

Just for fun I’d love to reply to Something like that with the following:

DON’T go on any rides - the staff frown upon that

Buy as much junk as you can from the gift shops, it will all be worth millions someday

Don’t drive there, walk. You can have a nice family chat on the way. If you get blisters, you can always rest in the hotel when you get there (you don’t need to book - just find a room you like and settle in, even if someone’s belongings are already in there)
