Maybe my mum was overprotective but…half these mums expected their 9/12 yr olds to have gotten them a card…but when are 9/12 yr olds going to be going out to shops alone to be able to buy cards? it smacks of insecure women projecting onto their children.

They make such a massive fuss over mothers day but God forbid you want a card from your husband on valentines day.... then they're full of "it's commercialised" "my dh shows me how much he loves me every day, how sad that yours doesn't"

So to all those stuck up mums who have spent mothers day in tears because they didn't get a Michael Kors watch "my kids show me how much they love me every day, how sad you need a commercialised day for your kids to show you they love you" #headtilt #tinklylaugh

Here’s another one. A poster was ‘attacked’ by her eleven year old daughter after she’d made her feel awful for not making enough fuss on Mother’s Day. Not condoning violence obviously but I’d imagine there was a lot more to it. She tried to shame her child who then lashed out in reaponse.

Haha! I even saw someone justifying it (not on MN) because she has a chronic illness and if someone had taken the piss out of her for it, her husband would have lamped them too. But then she is a chronic attention seeker via her many illnesses so I wasn’t surprised!
