Kiwi Farms is a bit like the inverse of here IMO - most of it is just people being nasty, but a couple of threads have their own little micro-communities with some interesting discussion. I found them because there's a relatively well-known youtuber I really can't stand who has a load of adoring fans, and it seemed to be the only place on the internet where there were other people who had the same objections. The thread got pretty long and often digressed into stuff like women's rights and how much all the posters love Phoebe Waller-Bridge, it was fun (if also OTT offensive, because that's just their forum culture).

I've been on MN since about 2010 and would say I spend quite a bit of time on there, but somehow a lot of the drama seems to pass me by and from time to time it feels like I'm a parallel universe - I've never even heard of Seafour and have no idea what you're all on about 🤣 I don't know who the entertaining troll with the ridiculously unbelievable life stories is either, or that Cod (c0d?) troll who everyone on there is always accusing people of being.
Cod still posts but she mostly stays on Twitter. Her desperate need for adulation grates on me but then I never found her funny. I have never know someone big up their magistrate role so much either and I think she treads a fine line between showing off and being unprofessional.

Marvellous thread in AIBU called something like "is this vulgar" about a traveller family fucking over the regs in the graveyard. Worth a look before it gets pulled, as it will.
Threads about travellers never last long on MN. They will delete it on the grounds of racism.

I'm Irish and couldn't give a fuck. Not everything has some appropriating hidden meaning behind it. They like the name, used it for their dog. It is bat shit crazy to see anything wrong with that. 🙄🙄🙄
As I said, I don't think it's insensitive but I do wonder why they felt the need to use it and I can understand why some Irish people might dislike it. Would it not be strange if they decided to call their dog a traditional, say, Polish name? As for the eye rolls on your post, this is a thread about Mumsnet, it's not Mumsnet itself

Went to Lidl this evening and they had all their Easter stuff half price or less. I got a half price Galaxy egg, they had loads of different ones. I also got half price bags of their own mini eggs and tricolour Easter themed pasta shapes.

There will be lots of running themes at times as well. I remember once fairly recently for example, there was loads of threads at the same time about moving to Lincolnshire. I’ve never encountered that anywhere else.

Unless you make it up, are there any names without ‘connotations’ celebrity, royal, murderer, victim, rapist, your ex boyfriend, your husbands ex wife, your relative already used the name etc. if someone told me they called their baby Madeline I wouldn’t think ‘oh yes, like the little girl who was abducted’. When people say their name is jack no one thinks ‘the ripper’!
Yes exactly, that's why I found it unreal. There's a lot of idiots out there.

If you don't mind me asking what are your costings for a 15-20 min shower that costs 15p?
My 10kw shower costs around a £1 in Electric alone for 20 mins. I think the least powerful showers are still 7,5kw. Water is about 40 gallons for 20 mins and that alone I think is more than 15p on metre.
Irrationally I get annoyed by the tap running while cleaning teeth, even though I know it's not much even on water meter it still seems annoying!
I'm not sure to be honest - I don't know the power rating of my shower so I'm just going by the price difference on the smart meter before and after use. It does produce the most pathetic trickle of water you've ever seen though so maybe it's unusually cheap?! I was only thinking about the electric and didn't take the water cost into account, that's a good point.

And yeah I'm totally with you on the teeth cleaning, it's such an unnecessary waste. Over time it does add up to a significant amount if everyone in the house is doing it twice a day as well.

I went in there a couple of weeks ago looking for an egg for my husband, have never before actually said out loud in a shop “how much?!?” until I saw the price of these eggs! There were stacks and stacks of them, I think they have really misread the public purse strings at the moment so I’m very sure there will be lots on sale there this week!
I've just ordered some eggs today, they were 50% off, they still charged me a fiver for delivery tho.

Yeah and as for perimenopausal, are you perimenstrual before you start your periods? No of course not!
That was your post that I quoted. Reading it now still makes zero sense because both the things you name ARE symptoms and those terms are used, yet it reads as thought you are implying they are incorrect terms.

Its not really clear what point you were trying to make.

Sorry!

This is what i never understood about mumsnet, they all hate men, and their first response to anything is always LTB or accuse the man of being abusive yet not a single one can be without a man it seems!

Moving men in after 5 mins and then wondering why it goes wrong
Mumsnet is hardly an amorphous mass. Do you identify with all Tattlers and believe you all have exactly the same beliefs and tastes? I've been on Mumsnet for years and like it. It all depends which threads you go on. The Harry & Meghan ones are pretty nasty on here so I avoid them.

Weird, because there was a thread recently where a forty year old husband goes clubbing with teenagers, and when he's still not home an hour after he said he would be, a worried MN wife calls the police. They find him almost paralytic, miles away on a dangerous, busy road attempting to crawl home. She's furious as she's due to give birth any moment. Sympathy from MN? No, they gang up on her implying she's a nasty harpy whose husband must be desperate to escape her clutches, blaming his shitty behaviour on her. She clarifies he can and does go out, but a) that night was uncharacteristic for all sorts of reasons, and b) emphasised the context (her late pregnancy)/ his reckless behaviour could have killed him. They gaslight the shit out of her and tell her to lighten up and make him breakfast once he wakes up. It was as if 4chan lads had brigaded or something. Shitshow of a thread. I was almost tempted to make an account just to tell them what odious cunts they all are :ROFLMAO:
I don’t remember that one but there have definitely been at least 2 others. Maybe it is the latest thing on there.
