My husband has an obsession with turning everything off when we go away. He turned the fridge freezer off once when we went away for 2 weeks in the summer. I nearly turned around and went straight back to the airport when I walked in.

Mine is the same. One year he switched off the TV and wifi. I had set up the Sky box to record all my stuff as planned and I was raging.
I was going to LTB but not before I got my ducks in a row and cleared the joint accounts, of course but…..I was jet lagged and I didn’t fancy upsetting the kids so I forgave him.

I cannot believe we are talking about holidays. It’s so insensitive. My next door neighbour’s best friend’s hairdresser’s cousin’s dog walker’s daughter’s teacher’s uncle-in-law once died on holiday.

My Nan really did die on holiday, sadly she had only just arrived so didn't even get a last hoorah. From a practical pov it was quite a logistical nightmare trying to get everything sorted.

My only real take from the experience is always have holiday insurance, especially in the days before GoFundMe. (She did, no rattling tins on the High Street required)
