So you lot have summed that up but adding my tuppence.
Firstly, I would have taken my children to the optician and dentist years ago. My children were under 2 so they know what to expect.
I would explain what is happening and why.
The optician would refer us on if they couldn’t get a good result, which they haven’t so more lies (family member is an optician). When my daughter had a serious eye condition at 3 my family member caught it because my daughter wasn’t frightened of the clinic.
They have many ways to test, not just the letters. School will give a basic test and refer on. She didn’t bother to ask her health visitor. Just asks for attention not for actual medical advice.
Sometimes children do need to learn to sit and behave. She uses his potential ND/journey to let him get away with shit and more importantly to dissolve herself of any responsibility for teaching him how to behave.
He fell asleep as soon as he came out? If that is true, he is doing that as a mental shut down to avoid her crap. She was probably having the meltdown.
She looks pissed. Jamie gone to bed without her? Again.

Her eyes were darting around in every direction. She was clawing at her neck and under her top. Classic signs of nerves and also lying. I agree, she looked "out of sorts" and it was just before midnight, a strangely late time to post.

I don’t get her issue with Ron’s eye test. There’s absolutely fuck all need to make a thing of his behaviour, especially if he’s on a ‘ND journey’.

My child howled the opticians down despite explanation before hand, social stories, reassurance, time to get familiar with the testing room and equipment etc. It was no big deal, they just referred to the hospital instead who were better equipped to support him

But doubt she bothered to do any of that. On the off chance Ron is ND, he’ll be too much effort for her. She’s a lazy arse as it is. I can’t see her looking at changing her pathetic excuse for parenting to support a potentially autistic child.

I've deleted all social media because well yeah I needed a break my life's been hell lately. (Not asking for sympathy trollsss if you read here soph unlike you I just get on with it tough old cookie me )

Just finished a night shift a fucking tough one at that. Manager was a cunt tonight but my mummy never come and saved me. What a bitch this was after no sleep from last shift because I spent half my day having to sit in out hours child has tonsillitis again. She use to it (gets it alot) so still wanted to stay with my aunt. So I could still work and not loose money. Single mum life something soph couldn't do.

Knowing that the optician will need to be in close contact, and that your child may not feel comfortable with this, just have a conversation with both them and the child before hand so they can both prepare and plan for ways to make it work.
I see many ND/autistic/SEN TODDLERS (ie younger than Ron and with much more specialised needs) who wear prescription glasses so their parents quite clearly coped with routine testing. Maybe it's because they spend time learning how to best deal and communicate with their children and the professionals they come across instead of being a lazy, excuse-filled useless cunt of a human?

Just woke up and watched these stories back. I don’t believe her when she says anything.
My first thought was they get the eye test when they start school.
My second was he said sore eyes. WE JUST WENT THROUGH THIS WITH OUR 4 YEAR OLD TODDLER. I needed to consider hay fever or some foreign object in his eye. We examined his eye ourselves - which he hated but bribed him with a chocolate to lie still whilst we had the best look we could for anything obvious that might be in there. Couldn’t see anything. Rinsed his eyes - which again he hated. Another chocolate.

Booked GP appointment. GP saw him the next day. I said he doesn’t like people close to his face. He hates anyone breathing in his face or whispering in his ear. I wouldn’t say he was ND he just doesn’t like that.

GP was a pro. My son was crying. Not being very cooperative. Key for the parent to stay calm, keep reassuring him but at the same time firmly tell him we need to make his eye better.

It turned out he had a stye forming. It was all good. We let it heal by itself.

The GP was brilliant the whole time though.

I would imagine her and Inch were both squeezed into a small room and that Ronnie found it overwhelming. I imagine a bit like my son he was crying and fighting the person away. Why not take a breather? Get him calm. Bring him back for another attempt? Surely most opticians are used to this? Or if she knows Ronnie doesn’t like things being up close (someone else said he’s fine at the barbers - very true! My 4 year old can tolerate the barbers until they touch his ears and will accept the shaver but not the hair dryer because it blows into his eyes and ears). I don’t want she’s looking for here. It’s not helping anyone to post stories like this. It’s pure woe is me. It’s a cleaning page. At best a home page. Either do a proper story on supporting ND children through trips to the opticians or don’t mention it at all. She’s pissed me off so much that I’ve stopped using paragraphs.

Did anyone notice in that sob story last night she gets annoyed really pissed at a "dm" telling her that she needs to tell her child to behave , sit in the chair and get on with it..she makes some pinching hand movement , hand to the chin like an Italian, twists her filtered face in annoyance. My kids had to have eye appointments at the hospital due to hereditary problems from 6 weeks old. When they were old enough they had to have drops to dilate the pupils. They didn’t like it but knew it had to be done. They always came with me to my appointments so they could see it was nothing to be scared of. I think most children would be apprehensive, ND or not. For her to say “I don’t think he’ll ever have them done” tells me she can’t be bothered to put in the groundwork to help him understand. They could do it as role play at home, that’s what my mum did with me. She’s not going to put any effort in with him is she? What happens when he needs the dentist, although he should have already started going. This has really annoyed me because she’s setting him up to fail, not to mention what will happen if he had to be seen due to an emergency

Am I remembering wrong or did Hinch say years ago that Ron had a sleep disorder that meant he couldn’t sleep? Because now, he seems to be cured and instead has narcolepsy.

It’s because she’s waiting to do a big reveal post, has to get as much attention as possible from his diagnosis! Just like the hinting at new animals, home range, books etc, it’s all about building the suspense and bringing in the likes.

Seriously though, my son has ADHD and has, in the past, fallen asleep immediately after a monumental meltdown. It’s happened once or twice where he’s got in such a state he’s just absolutely exhausted

Personally I think any decent parent or professional wouldn’t persist with the appointment if the child was that distressed (unless it was absolutely necessary!).

The kids don't sleep cos most days they have no stimulation, no energy out, they're just in one boring dark playroom, for a treat they're allowed in the orangery. On top of that, their diets are poor, alot of sugar and processed foods.
I'm not surprised they don't sleep.
