I've seen a birthdate for him online as April 1983 so 38 years old which I thought he was. He looks a youthful late 30s. He is trim and boyish faced and looks after himself. There was a list like a CV online with all the TV stuff he worked on from the beginning and that would absolutely make him late 30s. I can't find it now. He manages his Mr Carrington brand very thoroughly and carefully. Even under his real name there isn't too much info apart from director credits and his TV production Company name. He's won a Bafta but after 2013 he's gone freelance and developed Mr Carrington as his brand. The hauls and crafts has got him on 2 TV shows so he's doing very well. He's a hard worker and I think a genuine person.

He’s 38/39! Met him once at an event in late 2019, and remember him saying he was around 10 years older than me! (I just turned 28) ☺ Haven’t seen him since but remember he was a genuinely nice bloke!

I know it’s his job but I just can’t help but think he plays so into throw away culture and feeds some peoples shopping addictions (it’s a thing!) , his videos are good background content when you’re doing anything else.

Totally agree, it's just a case of him scouring the internet now to steal other people's ideas and pass them off as his own, which is very underhand.
It’s the same on Sort Your Life Out, I like Mr C but he was a weird choice for that show when he isn’t a cleaning influencer and he just shows other peoples ideas that he’s found on Pinterest.

He's not really evolved much. Same old cheap stuff. Another hamper? Fake flowers for outside? Really? I liked the ceiling rose and the lights but WTF is he fannying around buying tiny lavender bags? He lurches from cheap to granny to aspirational shit (his LV and Gucchi stuff). He has no clear sense of style and he buys very ugly shirts. I don’t rate his fashion at all.
Spot on. Wardrobe inspo is the clubbing section at Primark. Used Gucci loafers? Dyptique sample perfumes? He clearly loves designer brands, but will only get them at a car boot sale. If he stopped buying all of this car boot/charity shop crap, he could save enough to buy something he really wants at an actual LV boutique.

I think he's totally out of his comfort zone and such a poor casting for Sort Your Life Out. His social media doesn't claim to be a cleaning guru either so he must have known someone to get the gig. Nothing new or mind blowing about his hacks and tricks on the show and he's very awkward to watch.

Ah I must be getting soft in my old age but I felt quite sorry for him when he started crying talking about the last packed lunch show he clearly enjoyed working on it 😪

I think he probably gives a lot of the stuff he buys to charity shops. The bits of his house we are shown always look pretty tidy and I don’t think it’s massive so he couldn’t possibly store it all!

He is doing well for himself off the back of his YouTube but I think he is savvy enough to just take it as it comes instead of expecting it to be his career forever and he has his production work too. It’s quite nice that his partner isn’t featured, it’s refreshing in a world where one person gets a following and then their partner/siblings etc all try to get in on the act. I think it’s healthy to keep your private life private and maybe his partner has a job that means he can’t be on social media or simply that he doesn’t want featuring.

I like that he does a variety of videos, I’m not massively keen on DIYs but l do really like his travel vlogs, I think he comes across well on them so it will be good when he can do them again!

He doesn't reveal his age .I've actually chatted to him on a number of occasions pre tattle ,he's a lovely guy but I think he's destroyed his channel over commercialising it .
I actually tbf don't have any problem with him, he's just quite bland. He does come across as nice... I'm just tired of the constant hauls and I don't know what species that Luke is!?!?

He has a sneaky habit of making vlogs just to promote something. I'm sick of watching him ramble on and then, before you know it, it's an ad. Very underhand and I'm almost certain he needs to clearly mark his vlogs as an ad.

I feel like he got it as he always works in telly and could look up other ideas and didn’t need much training and wasn’t gonna be mega bucks

"I tested out a few (sofas) before deciding on this one" - Mr C

It was GIFTED, of course you chose the freebie sofa! Let's just call a spade a spade

Yes I agree ,that's why I liked his content I didn't feel he was like the others he wasn't as commercialised but boy has that changed every post is now an AD or begging for a Collab ( my attempt at the next thread title 😂 )
Luke is even worse IMO. So desperate for a Le Creuset collab - amongst others.

Mr C, this is an intervention. The next time you make a last-minute DIY decoration video, and they turn out like this:

IMG_20231205_221453.jpg

Just accept defeat and don't even bother publishing the video. This sir, is absolute garbage. It literally looks like something a 5 year old would bring back from school. Then in the vlog from today he has the audacity to say they turned out "very effective and beautiful" 😂

As for the cork wreath, it looked like a model of a virus or something. And the candles were a disaster. I seen Lone Fox did a Christmas candle DIY the other day and it turned out really nice, nowhere near as messy or time consuming as Mr C's botch job. Better just to stick to your vlogs and freebie events and leave the arts and crafts videos to those who actually know what they're doing lol

He blagged a free couch from a sponsor after making a big thing of going looking at sofas. He had to build it so it will be some cheap crappy thing. I loved that he said he got a huge vase at the boot sale and was liking larger scale items. Funny that his lack of scale with design was mentioned here recently. Hi Iwan.
Im very disappointed at the sofa scenario. I’ve followed Iwan for ages but I’m now wondering if all that pontification about choosing a sofa was an excuse to wait for a sponsor ?
