Motion Sickness

Hi everyone. I have suffered from motion sickness my entire life. It’s particularly severe in cars and on public transport. People said I’d grow out of it but I’m well into my 20s and instead of improving, I’d say it’s worsened. I’ve tried putting myself in situations where I have to experience motion sickness in order to just get used to it but that really hasn’t been effective. I’ve tried medication, the only effective one makes you VERY drowsy - not ideal when the destination isn’t one I can sleep at! I don’t think people really understand what an impact it has on everyday life and how debilitating it can be. That sick feeling and extreme nausea is just so awful. It’s not only embarassing but it prevents me from doing things that I’d otherwise enjoy because I dread the journey getting there.

Does anyone else have experience with this? Has anything helped you? Any advice is appreciated

Have you tried the bracelets from Boots, they are elasticated and have a little stud on the inside that presses on a certain point on your inner wrist? I think they work along the same lines as acupuncture but with pins.
Really effective and cheap.

I too get motion sickness but mostly in cars - luckily I seem to be generally okay on trains and planes. I always take Stugeron before a journey - I assume you will have tried that though as it's pretty common!

I have not tried them, but I have heard good things about Relief Band:

Not cheap though!

I get car and sea sick. Used to be horrible when I was in college as my bus ride was just over an hour and most days I’d throw up once I got off. I did find wearing earphones and listening to music helped a lot. My doctor didn’t want to give me medication for it as I’d have had to use it all week days I was in college.
The tablets I found that worked for me are the boots own brand ones, I tried other ones I think joy rides and sturgeons and they didn’t work for me.
The pressure point bands didn’t work either. I always try and sit where I can see out of the front window so I can see where I’m going that helps the most.
On boats I got told to look at the horizon but that didn’t work for me but I found lying down did.
