Monkeypox

It always angers me when at first the news story says only 1 person got it, not long after it was a couple people, now its creeping about widespread country to country? Just how did it get out of control surely that 1 person originally was isolated as soon as she/he knew, yes they could've in the meantime passed it on to say those close to them, but how does it snowball out of control so fast? Feels like there should be some kind of tighter rules but I don't know what, I know we can't predict some things but it's crap feeling so useless to do anything and makes me paranoid because of Covid and the fact that we're only just coming out the other bloody side of a god awful pandemic. I don't think the world can handle another. There's so much fear among many of us with the war going on & threats of it reaching us on the news (I'm hoping is total clickbait)
Just give us a bloody break

It's still a bit vague on how spreadable it is. It goes from sexual intercourse to changing bedding as ways to catch it

You can catch it from touch, bodily fluids and breath it’s not only sexually transmitted .

They think it may have been spread by people travelling from Pride festivals in Spain and sex saunas

I'd imagine it wouldn't take long for gum clinics to start contacting and giving a smallpox vaccine for those at risk if it did continue to grow. Far bigger issues out there. Presumably their staff will be getting a jab pretty soon.

The information is really conflicting at the moment. They are showing pics of big boils but apparently it's a different strain that causes smaller spots.

They're saying STI but then this morning that it spreads through the spots and through saliva and breath (wait for more mask mandates then)

They're saying it's mild but then harping on about vax and isolation.

A guy this morning said it's similar to chicken pox. So why the big hoo ha. Why can't people just be I'll anymore

It’s almost like only certain types of illness are allowed and accepted by the government. Cancer, heart disease, mental health related deaths, flu etc all just accepted prior to covid with barely a batted eyelid. Campaigns here and there but nothing like covid or now MonkeyPox it’s rammed down our throats like the world is ending constantly. Some winters my whole office would be taken down with viruses that spread amongst us, to the point some had been in bed for days. No one freaked out about that & wrote stories in the Daily Mail “whole office ill mystery virus that spread within days!!!” …my boss actually expected us to come in and work through it. The more the media does it the more people just aren’t going to care.

The annoying this is they're wording it just like Covid. Even the BBC are on the hype train.
