Laurens knows where his bread is buttered.
Someone a good while back mentioned that Laurens loves the high life. He has less of that now that Romee's modelling career has slowed down and they have two kids.

When Romee was more in demand and with VS, he chaperoned her on her jobs abroad because she hated being alone and away from home.
I think Naetur was set up to give him a job.

I agree - if anything, Lottie actually looks more like Kate than Lila does!

Carmen Kass gave me such a complex when I was a teenager. I have naturally full lips and thought I was ugly because she was one of the world's top models at the time, and had thin lips. I remember looking in the mirror and thinking, "god, my lips are so big and ugly, I wish they looked more model-like like Carmen's."

How beauty standards have changed since then!

Karlie's career has always confused me.

I don't think she was beautiful or striking enough to be a top model. In my opinion, she is/was more on the weird-looking side, but that still doesn't explain how she's had such a good career, because those models tend to be popular for a few seasons as novelty value, then they disappear.

She is taller than most models too, where agencies usually don't want girls/women taller than 5'10", 5'11" at the very maximum. I don't think her looks justified the exemption for her height that she got (unlike outstandingly beautiful, taller models like Lais Ribeiro and Toni Garrn).

She's had a lot of plastic surgery too and fillers too, she looked completely different when she first started out.

I wonder if she is where she is today because of her connections (e.g. the link to Taylor Swift and their rumoured relationship), rather than her appearance and talent.

I don't think you have to be classically beautiful to be a catwalk model - tall and striking suffice - and she's certainly both of those.

i think it was Gore Vidal or someone like that who said that Bono turned up to some big charity meeting in New York - drunk - and with Christy Turlington on his arm. Vidal was most disdainful of him.

I would like to know what Turlington really got up to in the 1990s.
Find it hard to believe that she was squeaky clean.
She chose her friends badly - being thick as thieves with Naomi and Kate.

Does anyone remember a Vogue spread sometime in the early 2000s when the Brazilian models were all the rage? It had Gisele, Ana Claudia, Fernanda Tavares etc. I remember thinking it was so iconic.
