Damn! That's crazy.

A former churchwarden jailed for murdering a university lecturer has had his conviction quashed by the Court of Appeal.

Benjamin Field, 35, was sentenced to a minimum of 36 years in prison for the murder of Peter Farquhar, 69, in Maids Moreton, Buckinghamshire, in 2015.

On Thursday, senior judges ordered a retrial, saying jurors at Oxford Crown Court had "not been properly directed" over evidence related to Farquhar taking spiked whisky.

I watched a documentary on this case and it left me upset for days, the drama they made of it was also really upsetting. The man is a psychopath and belongs in prison!

A little boy was found washed ashore in 1971 but no one reported him missing or has ever claimed him.

Poor little guy. I’ve read he was missing for 3 hours before family called emergency services.

I recently ‘lost’ my 4 year old in a TK Maxx for a few seconds. The terror I felt when she was no longer beside me is indescribable. I didn’t know whether to run around the shop looking, run outside or phone the police. Thankfully she was hiding under a rail near me. But 3 hours until a call for help? Damn.

Every so often I think about Jack O'Sullivan. It's been about two years now and his family are still doing what they can to keep the case out there.

I feel awful for them but I do think he probably went into the water. So often the most likely option is what has happened in the end.

The police have stated they think she is dead and are searching woodland. They’ve also arrested a 3rd man on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. They have until late today to charge or release the guy they are holding on suspicion of murder. Her poor family

Just seen this on Facebook and it’s terrifying!! Missing 16 year old from Birmingham. Her and her mate go to London on 2nd May, Cypress has been missing since but the mate comes back the next day. Mate took a week to tell the police they met men in London and stayed in an apartment but the mate left cos she didn’t like it. Cypress hasn’t got her phone on her. Sounds like trafficking!!

My brother reminded me the other week that they put wife killer Joe O’Reilly on the “late late” and he slipped up- These guys play a dangerous- smug game.

My Mam always said when she watched that interview and he said that there were towels missing in the hot press, she immediately said he did it because she didn't know any men who would cop that, and she was right. It's amazing the little things that catch them out

I can't stand these true crime TikTokers, they are just trying to get famous from other people's tragedies. It's offputting. Ditto most Youtubers too, these days.

So the death of Rachel/Helena Booth. The lake is used for open water swimming. It would have been getting light by the time she got there. Could it be that she just went for a swim and accidentally drowned with the purchases being irrelevant?

Seems extremely unlikely. She didn’t appear to have a bag or towel or tow float with her, and most open water swimmers wouldn’t risk a solo dip at 4am with no one else around. I certainly wouldn’t and I’m a strong swimmer.

I think more will come out about her state of mind/use of alcohol unfortunately. I think she probably went into the water deliberately, or accidentally, after drinking the wine. No idea what the milk was for, but maybe it made sense to her at the time. It’s all very sad.

Would love to be wrong, but if no one else involved I can’t see what other explanation there could be.

This case gets even more bizarre.
I hate to say it but could the sisters have been intentional drownings?

I wonder if she is having some kind of mental health crisis. Jogging 45 mins at 3am for milk and wine doesn’t sound like healthy decision making.

Not sure really; I'm an insomniac and would sometimes walk to the 24 hour garage when I was up and restless. I became quite friendly with the staff and they gave me a bottle of champers at Xmas!

Depends on her usual habits. Fingers crossed she's found, it hasn't been very long.

There’s a woman gone missing in north Tyneside and it’s got my spidey senses tingling. Saw a post on fb by her husband this afternoon saying they were due to leave for holiday at 12pm and should have already been at the airport. She apparently left the house at 7:30am to pop to her sisters to borrow something. But didn’t arrive there.

the police have joined the search immediately and have had drones/ dogs up rising Sun hill but have found nothing.

Why was that necessary, couldn't they have just used old photos?!

Not sure if this is the right thread, as not sure it’s murder but has anyone else seen the story about the child being found dead in a house in Southend ? The parents have been charged with concealing a body for a year !!! It’s so awful
