That's not what on tick means in EnglandWhere I'm from in Ireland, to get something "on tick" is a phrase almost exclusively used to your local weed dealer when you get a baggie then and there, but pay for it later.
Maybe she heard the phrase around her growing up and didn't quite grasp the full meaning...

I think it’s just slang that originates from getting store bought goods ‘on ticket’. I would consider DFS credit, credit cards, Klarna, car finance, etc all to be ways of buying on tick.

It's so popular, but to be honest someone like Minnie choosing the name means it's almost certainly passé now, especially when it's spelled fonetikly

I think Margot is a gorgeous name. But I must say Margo just looks like a letter is missing and/or a cheap holiday resort. Gorgeous wee one though (but we should not have seen her and it's another small fit exploited)

Margo is just a bit like if you order Margot from Temu. It’s a cheap knock off of a pretty name. I do hate it when chavs take perfectly lovely names and try to give them an edge with an alternate spelling. They just set their kids up for a lifetime of correcting people and it’s sad. A tragedeigh some might say.
I’m also quite sure she nicknames her boy Mar-Mar, is that two Mar-Mars now? Two kids with names that end in the same sound, and two kids with names that start with the same sound. It’s like she has such limited imagination.
