She really does a disservice to other young mums living in council houses. She thinks she’s being relatable, but she’s really really not. No way could the average single mum who qualifies for social housing afford half of what she shows off:I guarantee she will suddenly have enough money to carry on lessons and will be looking for every cancellation so she doesn’t have to retake her theory,
Ruggable rugs, Silver Cross car seats, all mod cons, two holidays in a month, clothes from Next, new furniture nearly every week, ripping up carpet that’s only been down a matter of weeks because she changed her mind, new decor on a whim, having a car she can’t drive towed to her, paying to insure a car that’s just sitting outside rusting, £160+ per driving lesson, being able to afford to rebook her test straight away, the list goes on…
She’s just perpetuating the stereotype of how you can live a life of relative luxury and comfort and brand names and disposable income at everyone else’s expense, without ever having to lift a finger. It makes people believe all you’ve got to do is pop out a sprog and put your hands out.
