Will be seeing in tomorrow. Used to be a huge fan in the 80s. Not been able to listen to him for years, since the allegations have tainted everything for me now. I do love a biopic though. I'll report back tomorrow night.
Please do! Enjoy

The film is being absolutely panned . Kinda disappointed but expected nothing less to be fair :(
I've almost never enjoyed any of these big biopics.

I couldn't get through half an hour of Elivs because it was making me feel like I was on an acid trip. I normally like the director but not here, and Tom Hanks was terrible from what I saw.

I didn't bother with the Whitney or Amy films because Whitney managed to find someone who couldn't look anything less like Whintey and the Amy one looked so so cheap and cringe.

I skipped the Bruce Springsteen one when it was said to leave loads and loads out including some of his best music. What's the point?

It's a genre I've largely given up on.

They left out all the scandal so it's not a real life biography. It's telling Paris won't go to any of the premieres.

They were never going to include it so it was always going to be a money spinner project.

I don't know about watching it, I find myself not really listening to/watching his stuff just now because it doesn't feel right. The trailer looked good but that's easy to do. Wonder Woman 1984 looked great and that's one of the worst films I've ever seen.

Maybe when enough time has passed and his estate aren't still so powerful someone could tell the real story of MJ on film, much as it would be hard to watch.

Same! I did love the Robbie one though, it was probably my fave move of last year… or whenever it was released.

I'm nervous about the Beatles one, especially as it has been described by Mendes as a "bingeable" cinema experience.

Hmm the movie is being slated but die-hard MJ fans will love it.

I do find it curious that no mention is made of the allegations it seems. But it’s a film for fans.

I will not watch it, I know of his irregular and abusive childhood. I know he was a very talented star. I saw him in concert and he was more than amazing.

I do believe he was a paedophile. A paedophile who did a lot of good, but a paedophile nevertheless.

Seemingly they did shoot stuff and the original ending was just after he was arrested. Part of the deal when he paid off Jordy was he or his likeness couldn't be used in anything on screen but the idiot lawyers didn't look into it before filming so it had to be scrapped and scenes reshot.

This doesn't surprise me as it screams The Jackson Estate all over it - desperate for money and that tiny bit of fame.

I’ve watched it, too. The cast did well. Jaafar was brilliant!
“And so it continues…”
Jafar really came into it during the Thriller and Bad eras. His dancing and mannerisms were incredible. The guy playing Joseph was really good too. I may have to see it again...

I'm going to see it tomorrow with my daughter and teenage grandson. We all love his music, but not him as a person.

Those are the best era for MJ, anyway. He still looked human and wasn't grabbing his fool all the time in his performances.

Definitely going to see it myself, I do so love that crappy The Jacksons: an American Dream or whatever that VH1 mini-series was called. Fascinating family, giant mess that they often are.
