Cannot believe the amount of dead Z listers who have managed to blag an invite 🤨 There once was a time when Anna Wintour wouldn't invite Kim K until she was with Kanye, but a bunch of Youtubers and Tiktokers were there!!

And as for the outfits - so off the mark
The best theme in recent years was 2018 - the Catholicism one. Rihanna and Chadwick Boseman's looks are still burned onto my brain 😍

Here are the looks I liked from the night. I can’t say loved because they just didn’t quite hit it for me but very close. I think Whitney Peak is my favourite and Yara Shaidi. Lupita nailed it because what’s more American than denim?!

Here are the ones that I thought didn’t quite hit the mark and with a few changes I would like them. I would have liked Lily-Rose Depop’s outfit if it was a dress and not a two piece. Margaret Qualley’s was nice but with a different shoe? And maybe a touch fitted. Rita Ora’s would be better if it wasn’t wore by Rita Ora.

These are the outfits where I loved the colour but not the actual outfit whatsoever.

Shittest Met ever, honestly.

- stupid horse dress
- Kim K taking masking up a bit far
- Gigi Hadid wearing a badly fitting “Girls’ World” hairpiece
- Madonna looking like a rejected Mattel version of herself
- too much boring black fabric
- so many of the clothes look cheap
- even Iman’s outfit misses the mark, something’s just not right there

I feel like this was one of the worst Met Gala's for people not embracing the theme. Apart from a few, (Iman, Gabrielle Union, Emily Blunt and a couple more) most of them just look like standard red carpet attire to me. Really disappointing. They've had long enough to think about it.

The Met Gala used to hold so much meaning for me, now it seems it’s all about getting your arse cheeks out in a sheer dress, chain mail (yawn!) or anyone z list nabbing an invite. Wintour needs to get a grip of it again and fast. I wanted to see SJP in a gloriously cut Tom Ford suit with a gargantuan headdress a la lady Liberty, I wanted Blake Lively swooping in all her sequinned bedazzled red white and blue glory, Gaga bringing her kooky, proper moments. But it was all a bit meh, I liked Kendall’s nod to Audrey and I thought Emily Blunts nod to Hedy Lamarr was probably the best look of the night. I also loved Keke Palmer on the live feed, she looked stunning, and her infectious personality kept it going. A disappointing year and god knows we needed the fashion world to inject a bit of uplift and oomph to our lives right now. I don’t know what Kim K thinks she is anymore but she needs to dial down the Kanye and read the assignment brief more properly next time.

Hey! I thought it would be fun to talk about the outfits worn at this year’s Met Gala.
It was meant to be last year on the usual ‘first Monday in May’ but Covid put a stop to that.
The theme is In America: A Lexicon of Fashion and the celebrity co-chairs are actor Timothée Chalamet, musician Billie Eilish, poet Amanda Gorman and tennis star Naomi Osaka. Honorary chairs for the evening will be designer Tom Ford, sponsor Instagram's Adam Mosseri, and Vogue's Anna Wintour.

To make up for the lost year, the event will be split into two Gala’s/exhibitions with the 2022 theme being In America: An Anthology of Fashion. This second exhibit, along with the first, will be in the museum through September 22, 2022.

Both themes are about American designers so the scope is pretty big!

Addison Rae somehow got there after appearing in the worst film ever made, and looked like she was wearing clothes from Shein.

The guestlist needs some serious tightening up.

Whether it was still Covid restrictions limiting some A-listers or what 2022 can't have so much deadwood guests.

I might be the only one here but I loved Kim's outfit! There were a lot of bold, bright and colorful looks on the carpet (which were great) but I loved that tongue-in-cheek and almost a "fk you" statement that she made with her outfit (especially given how much she's been ridiculed in the past for her Met Gala look).
I wondered if she was making a stand for the women of Afghanistan, the stark difference between hers and her sister's outfits, then I realised its Kim, so it's probably not that deep.

The weird thing is, as someone with social anxiety, I do kind of like it. 😬. Gets you noticed, without actually being noticed, looks nice and warm and also Covid-secure.

Outfit and hair suck but it’s nice seeing Kristen comfortable. She seems to have really gained a lot of self confidence since coming out!
