absolutely ick and vomit inducing! as is the "well, lovely bunch", greasy hair, grubby beard and adopted personality of "quirky country gent" with an acquired taste for florals that magically appeared through grifting & promo.

this article always springs to mind... his first reno showed such opposite taste and he says -quote-- "I knew nothing about design and interiors really when we bought the place – it was only via Instagram, googling and the like that I realised I had a real passion for it, and interiors didn’t all have to look like they came out of a Laura Ashley catalogue. He should be more honest about it. It's more of a, "we love going on frequent nice long haul holidays and we can't really afford to do that AND renovate this house to a high standard" situation. So they might have to choose one or the other. Rather than a 'woe is me, I'm skint' pity party, like they all do (looking at you Come Down To The Woods). People might actually respect him. We know some people have more money than others. That's just how life is. What's disingenuous is trying to wring income out of your followers by presenting your 'cake and eat it' situation as a genuine struggle rather than a personal choice* and asking them to contribute via paid content.


*Obviously buying a 10,000sqft wreck for 1 person in the first place is always a choice rather than a necessity, but it's adding insult to injury to cry that you can't afford it when you've given up your salaried job AND you are still jollying off on adventure holidays.

his taste was very different in his previous Reno. Amazingly, it changed to the floral frilly style with freebies ads and sponsorship and the invented persona … fancy that eh?

There is something really unlikeable I've found in this pair lately.
Firstly, beyond the humble bragging which is tedious, he also somehow always manages to get a tiny dig in. "she is very clumsy, she has short fingers" etc. Minor things but why put them out into the world and he does it a lot.
This ring is basically unwearable. It's so large and flashy so he could show off but how safe will she be in it? So he's bought a back up ring.

He almost sounds put out that the thing he's being most asked about is the ring, not him or his DIY skills. He's making himself look so thin skinned.

She looks smug and like she set out to hook him.

He is (they are?) so unlikeable these days, you're right. The negging, the twee faux Victorian gentleman persona, the thin skinned picking at negative comments, the bragging & begging, the undisclosed ads.

They're all really thin skinned. I couldn't handle people saying negative things about me online so I don't put my life online for anybody to comment on. But it's all about the content. It goes a little something like this:
Ask for opinion on colour (or whatever)
All the other interior instafolk comment positively
A few plebs say "oh I'm not sure painting that Regency fireplace with baby shit yellow gloss is such a good idea"
Become very offended that someone dares to not think the idea is genius and make post about negative comments
All the other interiors instafolk comment positively. Engagement increases and the whole thing starts all over again.

I'm really noticing whenever one of the Insta interiors people post, the rest of them all comment, often using the poster's first name (because they're all great mates and you normies can only dream of being friends with someone with such a following) It's a massive circle jerk of them all boosting each others engagement so they can get more free stuff. Grifters gonna grift.

Every time I look in on his page I am shocked by how scruffy he looks now. Just a few years a go he had a clear complexion, a decent haircut, tidy beard and reasonably smart clothes. Now he always has greasy hair pulled back and his beard looks grown out and all his clothes are awful. Looks like he's aged 15 years in the last 3 or 4. Can't understand it!

Also baffled how he is making money when he rarely posts on insta, surely his book can't be generating that much income?

Honestly, short and balding is better than long, greasy rats tails that you can't be arsed to look after. I wonder if Cot has finally had enough of and had a word?
