Would any of you fabulous people able to tell me why any foundation I use seems to go cakey? It always seems to go like that no matter what foundation or primer or foundation and primer combo I use. I only use less than a pump so I don't think it's over use of product.

I have a good skincare routine, and my skin feels normal, maybe slightly dry but no dry patches or anything.

Pre covid I had a make up lesson and it went cakey when she applied it. Her advice? To use a scrub exfoliator!!

Is it all over or just in patches ? Mine sometimes does if I have dry patches. Do you use a primer as well ?

I’ve been looking through all your suggestions and have narrowed it down to these. I’ve also looked through all my make up and it needs throwing!! So I’m starting completely afresh!

Spent £90 on boots today mainly my fake tan products but also got the IT girl CC cream, a liquid blush and a cream contour stick. A lot of my current makeup products are powder but I’m loving a more dewy, natural look so excited to give cream products a go!

Oooh let us know how you get on with the cream blush, I so fancy one at the mo just don’t know which one to get haha

It’s the best foundation, I used to use the MAC one before it and I was gifted it for my birthday a few years back and ever since it’s the only foundation I’ve used.

Think I might treat myself to this foundation and the travel size IT cosmetics CC cream just to see if I like it before I buy a full size. Need to figure out my shade for the foundation though! Thanks for the recommendations

Anyone got any BB Cream recommendations? I've finally mastered my skincare to the point that I don't feel the need to wear a full coverage foundation every day but I still want to even out my skin tone a little. Never used BB cream before so no idea what the best are! Don't mind if it is drug store or high end really (as long as it isn't crazy ££ lolll)

I like Erborian but with it being Korean (although made in France I think ) the shade range is atrocious. If you do happen to fit into their minuscule range, the texture and coverage is great. They do a small travel size so you can try first.

A lot of high street ones I find turn orange after I’ve applied them.

Estée Lauder do a cc cream in their revitalising supreme range, but it’s well expensive and again, shade range poor - I think they have it on look fantastic so you can probably get it 20% off.

Ones I always see recommend are Nars tinted moisturiser, Armani neo nude and Clinique moisture surge but they are all tinted moisturisers rather than bb/cc creams. I’m going to try the Armani one next time I need some.

I’m looking for recommendations or advice on eyebrows products. I have blonde hair and I would say brown natural eyebrows, they are quite full and I get them threaded so they look natural but I feel like I could do more with them. I don’t want them to stand out too much haha. Can anyone help?

I do look after my skin as best I can by drinking lots of water, cleansing morning and evening, using an oil and retinol with a Derma roller of a night.

My bfs female cousin got a derma roller for Christmas, and was chatting about it and rolling it over her chin. My bf piped up very proud of himself "ooh I've heard about these, they are supposed to help your beards grow"

It just goes cakey on my cheeks. I do, I have a smashbox one, a nyx, the ordinary, lottie, rimmel.

I'm mid thirties and I've never owned any makeup at all I read threads like these thinking maybe it's time to try but then I just feel exhausted just reading it. If someone says a "natural" look and then lists 5-6 products I'm like... But how am I supposed to get out of bed five minutes before I start work if I have to do anything more than wash my face?

I'm still bookmarking lots of recs and maybe one day I'll give it a go!

Seriously! I never had a foundation that so many people agree with me after using it on them that’s it’s their favourite, as foundation is so personal

I don’t contour at the moment.

I’m looking at NARS foundation. Would anyone recommend them? They have a colour match option on their website that tells you your recommended colour. I don’t know how accurate this is. Given the shops are all closed atm, and I’m pretty sure all the testers are not going to be on display on the 12th I don’t know what to do re: powders.

I’ve been colour matched on No7 counters before. I’ve got quite oily skin with blemishes that I go for full coverage but I’m open to anything at the moment.

I’ve lost quite a lot of weight and I feel like a different person. I wanted my make up to match that as well. I’m doing this for me.

i used to use the velvet matte skin tint by Nars, it's quite expensive but a little goes a long way and you only need a thin layer. I get bad scarring from spots and this made my skin look great (in my opinion)!
