Looks like there’s a chance he could be out on parole soon for the sex attack he was jailed for on the American tourist... that’s probably why they’re making a big deal out of it now, if he’s out on parole I guess he could just disappear never to be seen again I’ve just read the most vile dreadful thing in the news about what he said in a chat room..I won’t even repeat it.. I never feel sick reading the news but what he said... I feel genuinely queasy

A bit of both. She was always deemed difficult and thoughts that Gerry did abuse her.
I think they thought the twins were more precious since they were twins, maybe they only wanted 2 children and since thet ended up with 3 they got rid of the difficult one.

It’s odd that the nanny didn’t go with them and as I said above about the German man and the phone call. I’m between the idea that the German man went to the beach with Maddie (possibly her dead body ) and handed it over to someone on a boat ( same person that the German guy phones 1hr before missing ) and they got rid of body

or that someone saw him with maddie downat the beach and the other guy wasn’t there so he drove off with the possible body and disposed of it somewhere in the nearby area

It makes such sad reading doesn’t it, I think any of it could be true.

And yeah it makes no sense. I know people say that back then parents were supposedly less strict about that and people have only been more cautious because of what happened to Madeleine but even my shitty parents wouldn't have done that 25 years ago. I can't fathom the fact that ALL of the adults there with children were okay with it. Makes no sense at all

The German man doing the press conference on Sky - can’t remember his job title sorry was having his information translated. The translator said to be charged with murder originally but this has obviously been changed since to the correct translation. I know as I gasped and called my Mum to tell her...and now look daft haha x

Yes the translater did say charged Martin Brunt Sky reporter.commented on it too although I’m sure it was a translation error at the start of the German press conference I’m sure the German police man said the date Maddie vanished was the 3rd of June 2007 when it was May

Exactly. They either prioritized socializing over the safety of their three children which is horrifying in itself or they made up this narrative because the truth was much worse...
Who in their right mind would admit to leaving their kids alone knowing full well the amount of abuse they would get?
Also why are they so keen to push the abductor theory. Why could she not have simply wandered out and got lost/hurt herself? Why is being abducted any more plausible than an accident happening? There’s no evidence to support or deny either so surely from a police investigation view it should never be ruled out? No sign of Maddie leaving the apartment and only a few efits all of which look like different people.

If she’d wandered out and hurt herself or got lost, her or her body wouldve Been found. They were right not to consider this weren’t they?

I will say though Idk if it's true for other places but the kids clubs I went to were always in the hotel run by the hotel entertainers, they were around the pool area or near the bar. We never went anywhere away from parents?

Maybe that's the case. I cant remeber much of it, it was a good while ago since I was a kid

Yes! Plus the people who admit to things for notoriety-bizarre! Although I think without any kind of proof or info that only someone who did it or was involved would know, any kind of snap confession would be thoroughly investigated and if it’s a deathbed confession that wouldn’t be possible. It would also be so cruel for someone to do that as it wouldn’t be able to be properly investigated

Can I ask... What is with the sedating of the kids? Is that a fact or just what people have presumed? Unless your kids were bad sleepers you wouldn't need to sedate them. If your kids sleep through they sleep through. I always wondered where that came from.
My general view is that the holiday club needs looking a bit more. According to Kate maddie was extra tired that day and didn't want a story...

I think it came from Portuguese police I don’t jnow if it was ever fact probably more speculation. Does anyone else know?

Apologies if this has been mentioned before (I haven’t read the whole thread) but has anyone heard about their trip to a bar called Chaplins that was around 2km from the Ocean Club, that the group went to (including G&K) a couple of nights before Madeleine went missing? It was happy hour and a quiz night too. Apparently, a member of staff from Mark Warner found G&K and advised them that Madeleine had been crying for over an hour (it was about 10-11pm) and they need to come back. I think one of them went back. I think it may have been Mrs. Fenn, who lived above the apartment, who alerted a member of staff. Unfortunately, I think she’s passed away now.

I do actually remember reading something about them possibly being at another bar one of the nights. I was on a forum called babyandbump and there was a huge McCann thread on there (might be gone now) which I found mind blowing at the time and that’s where I first saw it mentioned.

I did a quick search and found this blog which seems to discredit the whole thing.

I don't know if it's fake but I've always felt she looks very different in this image.

Kids can look different, I've definitely taken pictures of my kids that make them look different but this looks like a different child to me. I know it's not and it's likely her, but I've always thought it was off.

From what they've said they are considering the person on the phone as a witness rather than involved, but who knows. Personally I never thought this case would be solved so the recent updates just seem unreal after all this time.
