Just saw this on Facebook.
That's why I came here! Just seen an article about him in the NY times! It's all very much pushing how brilliant the parents are for encouraging his talent ect. Trying to make their kid famous is creepy af.I’m not usually on this thread but I came to see if anyone had posted about the Mail’s seemingly daily articles about Sean. I know there will be public interest because of who he is but it seems odd to be reporting on him every day. I am suspicious it’s being pushed by the McCann PR team and wondered if anyone else felt the same or whether I’m just a cynical old boot?
And thought they would go unchallenged because they were professionals, and they had clout - and they werenarrogant.I think they were very ashamed of their negligent parenting, knew it looked bad and tried to cover it up.
Honestly it's ridiculous how they are like: "but the hotel only had a listening service and we thought our idea was better" both options are terrible!! And we're not the only options. It wasn't a condition of your stay that you HAD to eat in the tapas bar down the road without your kids. It’s a ridiculous service. They were out with a large group, so would they even have heard a kid over all the noise?
Digital Spy banned all discussion about the case for years because people couldn't cope with anyone being suspicious of or not liking the McCanns, it was ridiculous
Absolutely. At the end of the day, whatever happened to her, she was, statistically, extremely unlucky. However, the inconsistencies and lies from her parents and their unwillingness to assist the investigation and sue anyone who goes against what they say happened, their complete dismissal of the Smith sighting (which you’d think they’d agree with as it would actually support their abduction theory), combined with the statistic likelihood of coming to harm because of parents probably ups that quite a bit.Unlikely things do happen though - statistically 90% of children come to harm by family or someone known to the family, so that leaves 10% who are harmed by someone not known to them.
One in five children experience csa, this suggests that sadly pweidos are not difficult to find.
There is a reasonable chance that any man (as pweidos are overwhelmingly male), who is presented with an opportunity that presents a low risk to himself, would take the opportunity to abuse a child.
So the scenario of MM leaving the apartment and bumping into a man who abducts her is statistically not that unlikely.

I think like the vile reported smell from the car boot that had to be left open for days, it was attributed to rubbish they took to the tip.Did they ever give a reason for blood being found in the boot of the car?
ahhh of course. Especially when they were eating out, and would have had a bin their hotel room.I think like the vile reported smell from the car boot that had to be left open for days, it was attributed to rubbish they took to the tip.
I always hire a car on holiday and transport smelly bags of rotting food, don’t you?!
Look at their faces, it is all very measured but they know what they've done - they were careless and neglectful and their daughter paid the ultimate price, and they have to hold their hands up to that in front of everyone.Thousands of messages saying they’ve done the same thing,
What’s done is done.
The guilt in the first few days was difficult.
At worst they were naive.
I switched off after 3 minutes as I couldn’t stomach anymore.
It was the lies for me. At first it was "like eating in your back garden" then we find out it's through an alley and down a lane!It was the "Ask the Dogs Sandra" comment from Gerry that did it for me......
Yes, but as with all their stories it’s a lie. The room the kids were sleeping in was round the other side of the apartment from where they were sitting.Didn't also the McCanns themselves repeatedly talk about, how the situation with them being at the Tapas bar and the children in 9A sleeping on their own was basically like having a barbecue in your back garden while thr kids are in bed sleeping. So Gerry basically confessed those circumstances.
It was more socially acceptable to leave children back then. I remember being on a cruise about a year before she went missing and then baby listening service they advertised was that you left your child in your cabin and did something to the phone so that you could call in from wherever you were on the ship to have a quick listen in as and when you liked. I thought it was madness but plenty of people used it. Also in hotels you would let reception know your child was in your room whilst you went for a meal and a member of staff would listen at your door once an hour. Again, madness, but a service used by many!Erm, with a “pre-Madeleine lens“ it still seemed very wrong to 99.9% of us to leave young children unattended.
I can assure you it most definitely was NOT “more of a thing” back then.
People who justify their actions as being “normal” back then are at best deluded.
Their social life and stomachs were more important than their children. Whatever happened to Madeleine, she was the innocent one who paid the ultimate price. Unforgivable.
