So she has vlogged their move to Montreal via Nottingham, Heathrow and Portugal. Staying just one month in Canada (including visits to Hawaii and LA). The good news is we've been promised regular vlogs each Saturday. A series of trips to coffee shops and expensive exercise classes. A jetset lifestyle. They are certainly not living on a tight budget. Their digital nomad homeworking must be so lucrative. I guess back to England for Christmas. Where in the New Year?

i was thinking this holiday will have been soo expensive with all the activities but looks like they’re wild camping so will be saving some money that way.

Sid came across to me as coming from a wealthy family and is on a very comfortable allowance from them. I think this may be why he appears so child like and naive, he looks like his biggest worry in life ever was whether to have ketchup or mayo on his chips.

I'm fascinated to see if they survive 5 weeks in that tiny car. Lydia seems like a decent person, he came across to me as annoying and immature.

Lydia will probably end up gifting the car to Sid after the trip, she seems very invested in the relationship and i hope it doesnt hinder the experience of her year abroad.
Sid seems terribly immature and the type the bang on about his gap year in South East Asia and Australia, i wonder if he's been introduced to Molly yet, she is practically half Aussie after all!

Watching her newest video and I feel like she has fallen into the trap that a lot of influencers her age have especially studytubers. She was talking about how when interviewing with a potential client she didn't have any stats/KPIs ready to showcase her work and that she was struggling to remember her own stats off of the top of her head. These are things that every undergraduate student should learn before they graduate. Even if you aren't a freelancer you need to be able to present your resume or portfolio in a way that is meaningful and ideally with numbers. Influencers often skip this step in adulting because they have been running their own channel and they never think they need to develop the skills to get a job or run a proper business while the money is flowing. Lydia's channel has declined and now if she wants the money to keep rolling in she has to help other people run their social media, but she doesn't even know how to present herself properly to clients. It's so foolhardy to boast about being an influencer for 8 years and not have your own portfolio or website showcasing your work.

She suffers from being chronically boring which is a major hindrance to her too.

Just skimmed through the latest video, and I'm getting the vibe that like many other sheltered youtubers who have never had a real job, Lydia has no idea what the job market is like. A lot of youtubers seem to be under the impression that they can just do youtube and then years later when their views go down or when they get bored of it they can simply go get a job in the field that they got a degree in when that is not the case in today's job market. Lydia really should have done an internship or two especially because she didn't have to worry about money so she could afford to take a low paying internship for the experience if needed

Has she been trying to learn any Danish whilst she’s there? I feel like I recall her talking about doing a bit on Duolingo before she want to Copenhagen, but since she’s been there she doesn’t seem to give off any impression that’s she been trying to fully immerse herself into their culture. Idk, I just think the whole point of a study abroad is to get that kind of cultural experience and especially given as this year doesn’t really count to anything she may as well spend some time at least learning their language?

No need to learn when the only people you talk to are Americans and your boyfriend who is seemingly always there

New vlog but I don't know why she even bothers because it's the same shit every time. Ad for the language school, goes to a yoga class, goes to a coffee shop. Yawn. She could do this in Leeds. Why bother moving to Berlin?

The most interesting thing was to discover that they're now not only not vegan but not even vegetarian now. What happened to make them drop the vegan thing? It seemed to be such a big thing for them, one of the reasons they got together was because they were both vegan. And all the drama about vegan food on that Scottish holiday ... Turns out they're eating everything and anything now.

She doesn't need to drink or smoke to be interesting, what does that have to do with her content being shit lol. Nobody watches her because she does nothing. I'm disappointed that she's turned into another freeloader influencer, doing nothing except churning out content to pad between the ads. Nobody cares about Sid and unless she gets an actual job and a life, I don't know if her channel will survive. Cringing so hard at this digital nomad thing, it's the epitome of 21st century leeching, especially since (if I'm not mistaken) she is part Lithuanian and she must be entitled to an EU passport? Anything to avoid paying tax like normal residents.

Totally. At the very least I expected to see some of the sights in Berlin (it's a city with so much interesting history) and the challenges of living in a new city. Instead we got coffee shops and yoga classes week in week out. I'm afraid she comes across as having no personality, no desire to try out new experiences and interests of her own and is just following the latest vanilla trends.

I fully expect Montreal (again another city with huge potential for interesting vlogs) to consist of coffee shops and yoga.

No wonder her views are tanking, her content is just plain boring.

And now she was just in New Zealand on a solo trip for the weekend. It seems like they have broken up. She didn't care much before for meeting anyone else or making friends when she was with Sid.

I do agree with part of her answer however the amount of flying she / Sid are currently doing really is quite over the top. Especially since there would be an easy alternative taking the train to Germany.

I’m not sure why she’s complaining when she kept making such a point that this year didn’t count towards anything. I really liked Lydia she was the one studytuber along with PaigeY and sometimes Eve Bennett that felt down to earth and had their head on straight. This year abroad has really changed my view of Lydia. It seems she’s only went to Copenhagen purely for the “aesthetics”. She’s done nothing to really get into the danish culture and have an authentic experience and she can’t give the excuse of it being because of Uni when she keeps saying that it doesn’t count.
