Lucy Letby Case #82

David Davis having another debate in the commons this week - 26th March "Conduct of Cheshire Police in the case of Lucy Letby"

it's the last thing before the Easter break so interesting to see how many attend. A feel sorry for the junior minister who is compelled to be there to respond to his BS.

Wow why on earth are they even entertaining this?! (I don’t know how these debates get decided). Surely the police conduct in her investigation is only up for debate if a MoJ was ever proven (which it won’t.)

I agree.
It’s an utter disgrace - have people actually forgotten what she did and was convicted of ?

@Pulltheotherone it would appear so. There's even a new subreddit group dedicated to her innocence. I left a comment, which I knew would be removed anyway but couldn't help myself and this was the msg I got a little while later-your comment violates rule 6-no debating or leaving comments from a non pro-innocence or miscarriage of justice perspective

Boils my blood. I know they won't change anything and she's never getting out but I hate to see her get any support never mind people making subreddit groups dedicated to her innocence etc.

I have just watched this on catch up.
I’m struggling to even form a response.

There is a transcript of David Davis's speech. It reads like Truther's bingo, sewage dripping from ceiling tick, shift chart not including expected deaths when Letby not on duty tick. I was surprised he actually stated, Dr Dimitrova theory, that baby O was killed by the doctor as a fact! He also accused the police of deliberately lying saying Letby was arrested in her pyjama!

Bloody hell. Even the cleaners got mentioned as potential suspects again!!

Davis is a fool. He's clearly fed by the Twitter mob and doesn't even bother to check what he's saying. Not one MP spoke in support of his nonsense.

Davis has spent his whole career making out like hes this kind of 'free thinker', smarter than everyone else etc. When he eventually got a minsterial job he was quickly exposed as a total clown and now hes just a sideshow grabbing on to anything to stay relevant and get attention. Its really quite pathetic when you consider hes nearly 80 years old.

The response from Cheshire police is wonderful.

A statement issued by the force in response to the allegations said: “Cheshire Constabulary strongly refutes all the points made during the adjournment debate. It implied impropriety on the part of Cheshire Constabulary where none whatsoever has been established.

“We remain confident in the integrity of the investigation, the conduct of the prosecution, and the decisions reached by the courts.

“Over the past two years the force has come under constant criticism and has been intensely scrutinised and subject to unpleasant opinion from a core group of individuals who appear to pride themselves on spreading misinformation, making baseless claims and attempting to destroy reputations.

“While scrutiny of policing is legitimate and welcome, it is essential that such scrutiny is grounded in fact and does not inadvertently cut across due process, ongoing legal considerations, or the independence of the judiciary.

“The constant noise surrounding this case, inaccurate or partial information being presented as fact and attempts to hi-jack the perceived narrative risk undermining public confidence not only in this case – but in the wider criminal justice system.

Public confidence is best served by evidence-based discussion and responsible commentary – not ill-informed personal opinions and inaccurate details. We are committed to victim-focused justice, public confidence, and the rule of law. Our thoughts remain with the families of the babies – who have always been at the heart of this case.”

It’s obvious David Davis is an avid watcher of a certain YouTube grifter. He made his case ad verbatim on the misinformation spewed by an ignorant, arrogant, unemployable, clueless, useless YouTuber with a book to sell.
the Minister for Justice was having none of it 😊

Yeah and the cleaners don't work at night, when many of the suspicious events occurred.
One minute those lot are saying it was poor care and there's no serial killer, the next they're happy to implicate the cleaners? Make it make sense! I can't keep up. I think the gist is anyone or anything but Letby though.
