Doing a weird press conference doesn't exactly scream "robust and professional defence" to me. It screams "Ruby Guiliani at Four Seasons garden centre". I'm pleased to see the Society distanced themselves from it.

She is coming across terribly. Which is not a surprise.

Here’s some of her best bits.

Did she really say ‘nobody else was coming to me to say they feared coming to me’ 🤦🏼‍♀️

Reading TC transcript is like watching someone playing a game where you have to answer without using a specific word (in this case I and yes)

BNE2 is absolutely godly.

You’re not allowed to say that in here.
I also hope McDonald gets on with fulfilling his public promise of making an application to the CCRC swiftly instead of publicity stunts to raise his profile with a view to raising money which is what he is doing right now. I want this because it will fail as all of the points he is trying to resurrect were already dealt with in court despite his unchallenged public claims and the new stooges he has found to repeat the same arguments but with different voices. That way there can be a formal and public legal profession dismantling job done as he will be cross examined for the first time and exposed as the shameless publicity fraud that he is. I can see a scenario however where he and the likes of Elston, Hitchens, Knapton, Sweeney et al, milk the cash cow that is the Letby story for as long as they can. Going to the CCRC helps none of these players as it makes it harder for them as they double down on yet another rejection. The longer it goes without a CCRC review, the longer they can create false narratives unchallenged in public and the greater their chances to drag out opportunities for work.

this is the full two pages. It’s actually the statement that got read out to the consultants and at the board meeting.

And this was her parents statement.

Lucy's statement is all me, me, me. What about the baby's that were dying or almost dying.

" I was unexpectedly informed in July 2016, that I was to be removed", wasn't that unexpected the two triplets had just died for no reason, you had been involved with 12 baby deaths over a year, you had been moved from night to day shifts and yet the unexplained collapses followed you.

" I feel my removal is more for your benefit then mine" it's for the baby's protection. Stops you attacking them!

I wonder if Noname was leaking these comments back to her, they surely wouldn't have been said in her earshot.

Evidence is up 👀

Wow. What a dick. Consultants being absolutely terrified of the implications of Letby returning to the unit was seen as “fuelling the situation”. They were just treated like villains from the start.

Peter Hitchens still crying over his favourite killer nurse. This time it’s about the one sided briefing the courts gave to the media ahead of the trial.

Apparently ensuring the media stay on the right side of the law and don’t jeopardise one of the biggest trials in recent history is part of the conspiracy against Letby too.

How does someone as stupid as Hitchens get given column space?

BBC reporting live again today for Sir Duncan Nichol.

It still blows my mind somebody so heavily involved with Allitt was on the board at Letby’s hospital.

Just hang on a minute, Alison. 'Everything gets lost in hundreds of emails." What's more a priority than concerns about multiple babies potentially dying at the hands of a staff member? How did that get 'lost'? I call bollocks.

ETA: Have just read further since posting. It just gets worse and worse but everyone else here is saying as much and why.

The execs trying to blame the consultants for not articulating their concerns well enough just doesn’t wash at all does it? Like BNE2 says, it wasn’t complicated. She had a significant increase of dead babies in her hospital - how can she sit there and still say/defend that it did it not feel like a safeguarding concern?

I think he’s actually losing the plot now. He’s been told off by the police for his last article so he goes again. He’s not having a good week is he?

He has written the same thing three times!

The police must be frustrated, they spend years carefully investigating a crime and Hitchens declares it all a load of rubbish to the public without understanding it.

Voluntarily interviewing someone in prison tends to be usual practice. They don’t need “arresting” because they’re already there. Voluntary interviews are also still done under caution.

They can refuse to be interviewed in prison so I’m assuming this is why he’s trying to spin her an “innocent” take by the fact she agreed to be interviewed.

I would be VERY interested to know if she actually answered every question put to her or whether she issued a pre-prepared statement and then answered no comment because they are two very different things with my ex police hat on

Exactly that. I’ve followed the threads on and off, I don’t know all the facts and make my way through the wiki but I find it to upsetting. From what I have seen I think she is guilty..

Anyone is welcome to have an opinion on anything if they can provide reasons for those opinions, and in a case like this evidence to back their opinions. It’s a discussion forum and discussion should be welcomed…

But writing a piece and ending it with that’s all you’ve got to say “over and out” on a thread about child murder is nothing but provocative and frankly disgusting. I don’t see why you’d want to contribute to a thread like this if you have nothing of value - whatever your opinion.
I genuinely think people just like to be different or go against the grain just for the sake of it.
Often they also preach “do your research” or accuse others of being sheep/following when actually, they’re doing the exact same blindly following the truthers without knowing the full picture.
And obviously, here is no different to other places, you do just get people commenting like trolls on certain threads. Think they get kicks out of arguing for the sake of it.
As you say, doing that on a thread about multiple murders of the most vulnerable victims is disgusting.

Chambers says that Letby's father was "very angry" and "he was making threats" at their meeting in December 2016. He adds that "he was threatening guns to my head."

Chambers acknowledges that he might not have gotten the handling of the meeting right, adding that he was just trying to "take the heat out of the situation" with Letby's father.

Wow. As much as I deplore the actions of the Letbys, I find it fascinating how easy it is to throw people under the bus. Maybe if they'd adhered to GDPR and not spoken to the Letbys about the situation with their adult daughter's employment or the situation within the NNU, they wouldn't have received any threats, would they?
What on earth could he have threatened them with if they were following procedure. If they were, the Trust would have protected them
