Especially given the consultants already had these concerns before the triplets were born. I feel for the parents of baby Q, their baby was put at risk by not removing Letby after baby P's death but they didn't get justice for their baby.

Been reading Dr Green's transcript, they were quite rightly hard on him over his treatment of the consultants. Lucy's parents rang him twice before the grievance hearing to say how upset she was!

The barrister, Mr Baker sums up the absurdity of the grievance here.

I don’t know why I’m shocked her parents rang the person investigating her grievance. Twice. I shouldn’t be! Who the fuck else did they ring?

Everyone who’s said she had a normal upbringing… they are showing quite clearly she didn’t.

This is quite incredible. Karen Rees almost immediately after directly hearing from Dr RJ and Dr SB that they suspected deliberate harm, jumped to the conclusion that both these doctors must have had a personal agenda against Letby and even that she’d rejected their advances. Staggering. So she was willing to investigate some kind of soap opera goings on but took Eirian Powell’s general wafflings about transport and causes of deaths for the babies as concrete that nothing untoward was happening.
These people are so fucking inept and disappointing. So disappointed in them as women I must say! Like they just jumped to “imagine if this poor girl was your daughter” than doing their actual fucking jobs.

That’s a low blow even for her. These consultants think she’s deliberately harming babies so what is the first thing she thinks of “they must have tried it on and she rejected them” I could possibly buy her thought process if they’d said she was a shit nurse but to say deliberate harm…that’s on another level completely. wtf

Lucy should be allowed an appeal because some people said some hurty words about her killing babies which is the case but even so, they were very mean and actually you should #bekind like my army of Karens at CoCH and my gang of butterfly internet perverts. And did you know she’s got a bad knee and thyroid problems? So it was very hurtful and actually she had been fully exonerated.

Astonishing stuff.

Something else I find weird, at the meeting on 17 January it was made clear that Letby was a Trust member of staff and the onus was to correspond with Letby and not her parents. This was reiterated 2 or 3 times. She clearly was digging her heels in for things to go through her dad. She was around 25 years of age, living in her own home 100 miles from her parents, she was behaving like a schoolgirl.

They were literally meeting with letby every week and feeding her information regarding the reviews. Keeping in mind that they didn’t even let the consultants see them without heavy redactions. In fact Letby’s fucking parents were better informed about those reviews. And of course they’re neglecting that they suggested there should indeed be a forensic look into it all. It’s crazy.

bless him though, this was July 2016 and he must have been at the end of his tether and felt like he was banging his head against a brick wall. And for good reason. What an utter shit show the lot of them were.

I have the utmost respect for him. I wish he had just gone over the lot of them and straight to the police, as I’m sure he feels the same knowing what we all now. I do think he will get grilled for that but I think we will see him accept it.

Finished Tuesday’s transcript.
So Annemarie and some others in the risk team began to search all datix and incident reports that involved Letby and created a folder of them.. then mysteriously that folder disappeared. When she asked Ruth where it had gone, Ruth basically said don’t get involved
So is this why we don’t have the datix about her leaving her designated babies and apart from Letby’s reflections there’s no data in evidence about the morphine and non prescribed antibiotics? So did they actually wipe all her incidents? There definitely need to be criminal charges for that!

I like the vibe of Annemarie but she puzzles me a bit to be honest. She’s got a brain and nice to have someone that can actually answer and be coherent. She seems very headstrong, good at what she does, very analytical of relationships between staff, very concerned with risk and it being looked at meticulously.
Clearly saw the chart and could see Letby had to have been involved and then all it took was being shut down once by Ruth and that was it. Sat in an office next to Letby for almost a year?! Aware the folder of incidents got deleted. Put on a report for O&P that it was terrible care that was a factor in their deaths with no evidence for it in Hawden’s report that she’d used, just did it at Alison K’s request. I dunno just feel like the maths ain’t mathing a bit. Guess that happens all the way through this case though!

Seems to me it’s a real shame that her and Breary had such a frosty relationship from the start because actually if he had treated her as his contact regarding risk they probably would have got somewhere!! I think she harbours a bit of that ‘consultants are so superior’ thing all the higher up nurses have and he was clearly stressed out of his head and had been unsupported by her predecessor the useless Debbie Peacock. If they’d have given each other a chance they could have cracked it in May 16

Also, another incident of perfect nurse Letby, being reported for far less than perfect behaviour and those same people are the ones saying in evidence what an incredible professional she was

I wish they’d asked Annemarie what Letby did in her office all day cos wasn’t a load of the batshit notes actually found there in a drawer? Surely you’d be thinking “oh look, Chinderella’s doing her mental scribbling again”.

I feel really heavy after reading that BBC report about the other insulin baby and the babies at LWH

We often discussed what might have happened prior to baby A because that murder was so extreme in nature, unusual to have no escalation to something like that, and it comes as no surprise that evidence is mounting she was harming babies all throughout her career. But I guess the emerging details just weighs a lot. How many families out there have unanswered questions right now.

Really confused by the fact that the head of the RCPCH seems to be an electrician (ok that’s an exaggeration) and have no clinical background ‍
It’s just all one cockup to the next. At least she had the decency to admit they fucked up several times and how serious that was. First witness to fully do so for a few days! All those involved with the grievance were total weasels. Only Sian Williams seemed genuinely remorseful. Hayley Cooper said how sorry she was for her texts but followed that with how it was eight years ago and she’s a different person well good job because you were an unprofessional dickhead

Ok so as an NHS employee I do agree with her about the copying in thing, and it can be really irritating however I’m a band 4 working in projects, NOT head of risk and patient safety this is basically her admitting she doesn’t read her emails which is the bare minimum of a job in my opinion. Yes sometimes you’re copied into a load of irrelevant nonsense, but this wasn’t irrelevant nor was it nonsense. Why can none of them hold their hands up and say yes I should have read that and done something about it??

It happens in my place of work too. Yes it’s annoying but reading & processing emails is a pretty basic part of most people’s jobs now. To say you don’t think you’re obliged to read an email you’re sent when you’re a senior manager on a huge salary in a public sector role is ludicrous! How detached from operational reality these managers are is gobsmacking.
