Can I just say I love how punctual they all are and if Lady Thirlwall says “we’ll break now and see you at 5 to 2”... if it’s 1:57 when they come back she says “sorry to keep you all waiting”

Yesterday’s documents are astonishing. Why were they all so caught up in protecting LL with her unhinged behaviour? Even for those who thought she hadn’t done anything wrong, it literally would have been easier for them to sack her and take the hit at tribunal, if found to be unfair dismissal. She must have threatened to kill herself and they didn’t want the press.
If this was a fictional drama on TV people would say it was too far fetched and clearly written by someone who’s never worked in a hospital. Do all hospitals have this kind of nonsense bubbling away behind the scenes?

One thing that’s struck me when reading the evidence over the last couple of weeks is how much additional work those consultants did to bring Letby to justice. They must have been looking through notes at all hours, long past the point they were actually being paid to work whilst execs who were earning huge sums of money just didn’t bother. Without their hard-work, determination and willingness to stick at it I don’t think she would ever have been caught. Yet they’re the ones who feel the guilt.

Dr David Shortland (RCPCH) wrote this in an email after seeing the COCH review. The email was November 2016.
He was a junior doctor at a nearby hospital to Grantham when Allitt commited her murders!!! He is also called to give evidence on Monday.

That’s really upset me
I think the doctors are pretty tortured by this. Dr ZA also emphatically accepts personal responsibility. Dr Gibbs was very remorseful about the bloods. They are putting their necks on the line it couldn’t be any clearer. They are willing to accept what the outcome is. People that otherwise have had brilliant careers dedicated to saving the lives of and treating sick children 
Just so sad, these are the people that did try and the ones that covered it up, literally hid it, altered reports and put the needs and feelings of a serial killer before patient safety at every point can’t have that basic decency.
I just can’t get over the support she was given either, we have managers sending her texts out of hours, union reps telling her she’s their best friend, Dr noname wanting his way, inviting her back for a tea party, allowed to visit another neonatal whilst being investigated, wondering about Alder Hey, parents allowed to address her work, xmas party invite….
i am sure there is more too, what support have they given the parents of the babies she’s killed.

I’m honestly gobsmacked at Eirian Powell. She sounds like a horrible person to work with. She had her favourite pets, those she disliked and an “us and them” attitude to running the unit. And so much she couldn’t recall. 
And those despicable comments about Baby H’s mother, this poor woman was so vulnerable. EP is someone without any compassion or insight just like Letby. No wonder they got on.
It’s a shame all this stuff wasn’t in the trial because it paints a much clearer picture of what a shitshow the unit was and how Letby was causing harm long before the incidents of 2015-16. Mind you it would probably be still ongoing if that were the case.
I still feel bad for the parents of the children she wasn’t convicted of harming.

There’s something interesting in that meeting about the triplets that Noname says he conveniently left just before everyone started saying Letby could be responsible 
yet was there to hear everyone saying how brilliant she was and then he went out the door and that’s obviously the moment people went “oh actually she’s been on shift for everything and some of us think she’s a murderer”

But it actually looks like HE said that the doc from the transfer team had told him she was and then Eirian has gone out of her way to contact this doctor (Dr. Rackham). He’ll be giving evidence so interested to see what he says. Fucking Powell and Noname working their bollocks off to make Letby look creme de la creme. Phlegm de la phlegm.
