Top marks to Nicola Lightfoot for spotting a sociopath - I get the impression she would never have passed Letby. Next stop Quantico for Ms Lightfoot.

It's absolutely shocking! I was under the impression that failing placements was rare! (Edit - I thought she failed three placements, but it was three competencies from one placement). No wonder she didn't get a job immediately after graduating in 2011.

This blows the super nurse stuff out the window. Not only was she an oddball with a poor bedside manner, but she lacked clinical knowledge as well. And these things were bad enough to fail her! This is giving Beverley Allitt, she was known to be shit (no pun intended) as a student nurse but they let her carry on anyway due to staff shortages.

This is the sort of stuff that may actually change the Letby Lovers' minds.

On reddit yesterday, hearing testimony from her actual friend that she "couldn't wait for her first death to get it out of the way" on her very first day is making some of them doubt her innocence, as was the potential statistics about tubes coming out on 40% of her shifts at Liverpool.

It just goes to show the sort of "evidence" they want and the reason they believe she's innocent: they buy into her super-nurse goody-goody image, and want to think that serial killers can't possibly look so sweet and normal. For all their grandstanding about ThE sCiEnCe and poo-pooing circumstantial evidence, they put one hell of a lot store in these sort of personal anecdotes proving that actually, she was a fucking weirdo.

Also, they actually want statistics, because the output is nice and simple for their simple minds. "Only a one in a million chance of this or that" is much easier to comprehend than complex staff population analyses proving that Letby was the last one to be with a victim, or medical evidence proving that these collapses weren't natural. It's the lack of statistics in the prosecution that bothers them, but they're too thick to figure that out.

I'm pretty sure that nurse ZC yesterday was the friend who Letby went to Ibiza with and described as her "best friend" to the police. (Despite this Letby tried to fit her up for overfeeding Baby G on the stand). This nurse newly qualified in 2012, and Letby started working in 2012.

And I think one of the nurses we are very familiar with from the trial (Salsa friend) has gone anonymous for this inquiry and may be one of the other nurses from yesterday.
It's really really rare that final placement competencies are failed. Normally you pop them on an action plan in that final placement to being them up to speed before qualifying, and the uni is also involved. Letby must have been well below standard and not helped by an action plan. I've never known a student fail a final placement, normally they are weeded out well before then. Clearly displaying worrying traits even as a student

Not far in yet but have to say I am so happy to see Mel T and Ashley H are smashing it and have done or are completing their advance practitioner training. I truly hope that gets back to Letby in her grotty little cell 🥳🥳🥳🥳

He comes across as a right arrogant prick, the other Dr’s so far have apologised or accepted they were wrong and passed apologies to the parents, he just seemed to want to deflect his totally inappropriate behaviour.
Did he not wonder what was happening with all the sudden deaths either?
Do we get to see all the messages between him and Letby ?
He's just vile, isn't he? Absolute slimeball. He's not taking any responsibility whatsoever for his behaviour.

He's even trying to make himself look like he's some benevolent person who was just supporting an emotionally vulnerable colleague, rather than a married middle-aged sleazebag trying to fuck much younger nurse. He's not been misled by anything other than his own penis.

A reminder that he: bought his "friend" chocolates, took her designer shopping in Cheshire Oaks, took her to restaurants, went for coffee with her, went on country walks, had a trip to London together, visited her home so often that neighbours assumed he was her partner, and most importantly, kept her secret from his wife and kids.

If his true intentions were innocent friendship, naturally, his wife and children should have eventually got to know her. Who has a close friend but keeps them secret from their family? A man who is having an affair (or trying his best to).

For those wondering if his wife now knows: yes she does. When he applied for anonymity in the criminal trial, he laughably claimed that he was the victim of "unrequited affection" from Letby, and that she had contacted his wife. He claimed he had anxiety, and that his exam-aged children were unaware of his association with Letby.

I'd ask him "would you have stayed up long into the night exchanging texts with a male colleague in order to support them with their mental health ?"

So Janet worked there from 1986 and didn't think the death rate was concerning but others who worked there for 20 years said they'd never experienced anything like it. Cop yourself on, Janet.

This is so damning of the executives. She believed their threats so much so that she went home and prepared herself to be fired.

Respect to her for acknowledging she made a lot of mistakes but also for listening to her conscience and vowing to not give up.

Holy shit! Supernurse got a fail in her competencies. Yet another person describing her as excited about death.

She couldn't accept that she hadn't done well in her final placement and appealed against the fail citing a clash of personalities but from what has been reported her appeal wasn't upheld as she had to complete the three competencies. She sounds like she had an air of arrogance even then. This so called perfect, talented nurse image constantly being talked about on some platforms is diminishing by the day. Also as has been said before it took three years before she did her intensive care training when on average nurses complete this much sooner.

I have zero sympathy for him. He couldn’t have known she was a serial killer of tiny newborn babies but not only was he quite happy to cheat on his wife (maybe not physically but certainly emotionally) he also passed on highly confidential information to his bit on the side who happened to be a killer, that may have helped her somewhat. Along with all the patient confidentially chatter via Facebook. I don’t know how he still has a job tbh.

I am taking great joy knowing he’s being exposed for the sneaky little love rat that he is.

She failed her competencies! 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Oh I bet she hated that, little miss perfect. Wow, that gang of, what, must be around 5000 now, has been out to get her from the very start hasn't it?

I hope she knows that this is now public knowledge.

In all seriousness though, maybe that was a big red flag. Must be quite unusual to fail a placement, especially the final one. I wonder what she had to do to pass.

More evidence up… this is messages from 2013 drug “error”. Eirian had her back. I cannot WAIT to hear about Eirian’s evidence tomorrow.

And the corresponding datix…as reported, it happened before handover and so it wasn’t even Letby that raised it of course.
