Richard may want to have a listen to this from Court Room 2 Crime Scene, where Lucy herself explained why she wrote the notes. Spoiler alert, she doesn't say that she advised to write them by a third party at all. Surely Richard is not suggesting she lied on the stand, or during her police interviews? Not poor innocent Lucy.

Yes I heard this. They played the clip of statistics lady Jane talking about 'from what I've seen, I'm concerned' which had me eyerolling hard. Like unless you've seen everything relevant there is to see, maybe shut the duck up?

I’ve not seen it but the solicitor of six of the families has spoken on bbc breakfast and radio 4 this morning.
Then they interviewed the solicitor. Started with them saying Jane had volunteered to give evidence at the inquiry and would the families welcome that? Response: No. That would be completely inappropriate. This is about the hospital, not about the criminal trial, which has concluded.
She also went on to say that the speculation was really offensive and hurtful to the families. (I paraphrase all this, apart from the 'No', which made me snort.)
The pro Letby halfwits are ramping it up aren't they? I think it's because there are more people now out and defending the verdicts, the non guilty morons have had their day. Look at this vile tweet from that most disgusting of simps, I just can't fathom how any reasonable, sane and empathetic person could even think this let alone put it on socials. It's such a horrible thing to say, that man is warped and twisted.

The inquiry starts tomorrow and they didn’t get what they wanted, for it to be postponed or to at least include a re-look at the criminal evidence .
From tomorrow the media will be focussed on what comes out from the inquiry. Which will still be critical of the hospital but under the lens of Letby killed or harmed those babies, and what did the hospital do (or not do) to try and stop her.
Imagine what they will be like if she ever gets to the criminal case review panel! I think that none of them realise just how stupid they are.
Can anyone give me a short breakdown of why there seems to be a lot of pro Lucy Letby posts and articles lately? People keep talking now like there is a lot of doubt and as if she's been locked up unfairly. Is this just nonsense or did something come out that made people question things?
I was just listening to the murder sheet podcast and they discussed that from a journalist perspective, it’s just more interesting. It’s more interesting and sort of entertainment to question is this a miscarriage of a justice. Especially so soon after the post office and andrew malkinson cases.
There was an article in the New Yorker that a lot of doubters refer to however it’s littered with misconstrued evidence and leaves out other important evidence. But people have clung on to it.
There was also (quite rightly) media restrictions until the conclusion of the retrial which is only two months ago so none of these views could be reported in the UK until then so I think it’s why there seems to be so many at once.
The public inquiry starts tomorrow so it’s also topical, especially since some people have been trying to get it postponed or the terms of reference changed.
You have some ‘experts’ weighing in but even they have had to admit they haven’t even read full court documents or followed the trial. Even those that have, haven’t had access to the thousands of pages of medical records.
You then get the people who just lack any trust in the ‘establishment’ and think this is some huge conspiracy against a young, ‘pretty’, blonde, white nurse by nhs management, police, the justice system.
Add ALL of that to social media and it’s like a perfect storm. If I put aside my anger I’m actually quite fascinated in the psychology behind it all.
And even the 'experts' aren't convinced enough to actually put their names to anything, most of them prefer to remain anonymous. Wonder why!
Yeah this was exactly the sort of stuff I mentioned when I said the unit was poor. Was it worse because of Letby? Unquestionably but my opinion remains it sounds generally poor around a lot of other aspects.
ETA: I’m pretty sure I’ve heard before that the first some parents heard of their children’s collapses was when they were contacted by the police which seems to be what this is saying too. So it really does make me think the attitude, as stated re:insulin overdoses was “they’re fine now, no need to investigate anything!” which is poor practise for a multitude of reasons set aside from them identifying a serial killer.
I think certain people have a thirst for a miscarriage of justice story since the post office scandal and will cling onto anything. I think Gill wants to be relive past glories and decided that he was going to protest her Innocence before the trial had even started. I have noticed that many of her supports also seem to be anti establishment and anti vaxxers.
