Just want to follow on from a question re parents; no they don’t and won’t get protection and they already relocated to Manchester when the trial started to be close to Lucifer.

I hope Lucifer is so unsafe where she’s in prison that she has to be moved regularly

There is a term used for prisoners who are moved regularly, but i cant recall what it is. But Cat A prisoners are moved regularly for their own safety.
Lets hope LL is moved to the mortuary where she belongs.
Ive dipped in and out of these threads but never commented. What i have noticed on here is the sheer compassion by posters about this case. Having been involved in professionally in investigating baby deaths, i know how harrowing and distressing it can be. I hope people will take some level of comfort in todays verdict. But on a personal level, i know this will be a very difficult time for many. God bless those babies

The GMC investigation process is utterly vile to the point that people kill themselves during it. There is a significant racism problem within the GMC as well, so Dr Ravi in particular was at risk.

Imagine the consultants had phoned the police. The police pitch up to the ward, the hospital execs say that no it’s a vexatious complaint, the police don’t get full cooperation with their investigation. It is far better to have the hospitals buy in.

And on top, to blame the consultants of this is fucking disgusting of you. Fucking weirdo.

They were utterly correct that they needed the backing of the management. A GP that had to sign off on Shipman’s death certificates tried to raise the alarm on her own. The police didn’t take it seriously. They could have stopped him sooner.

Morning all - just catching up.. put my phone in another room in the end last night as I was getting a bit obsessed with reading everything. Still can’t believe it to be honest. It felt like it went on so long I think I got used to the waiting. I’ve had a few messages from friends / family along the lines of “ohhh that’s the case you were wanging on about, I didn’t realise it was so bad” and they now want to talk about it so it’s a bit different talking to people IRL!

I wonder how the parents are feeling this morning, one thing I hadn’t considered and was actually lovely to read was that they have all formed a bond and support each other, to the extent that some carried on going to court after verdicts were reached for their own children.

It’s so sad they won’t get the opportunity to have their impact statements read to LL (if that would have helped them).. they should drag her up there IMO and she shouldn’t get a choice but there we go.

Hope everyone is ok today, it’s such an emotional case even just for a bystander.

Child G and the monitor has really frustrated me and I’m gutted it’s an NG verdict. Because the only person who said the doctors left the monitor off is Lucy. Lucy the now-convicted murderer.

The doctors apologised to the other nurse at the time purely because they were told they left it off. At that time they had no reason to believe that it was actually a murderer telling them so.

i’m relieved she has all the guilty verdicts but I’m a bit baffled that they can find her guilty of all 7 murders then not apply that knowledge and evidence to these other incidents. Why would you trust a murderer when she said it was the doctors who turned the monitor off?

I have no doubt in my mind it was Lucy. She gaslit them all in that particular incident and unfortunate it worked on the jury too

The ones that have a NG or a Hung are all the ones where there's a distracting element really, be it some other condition or some discussion that someone else had done something wrong.

I think that in a smaller trial, they'd have a good chance of success. Especially Baby K, where we have a witness who saw LL standing by and doing nothing as that poor baby deteriorated for 30 seconds. Especially since she is now a convicted serial killer of babies.

I think this trial was just too big. It was too many things, and some cases got lost. I hope CPS do press on with a retrial of the hung jury cases so there's some kind of closure for the families.

I really want to see this but I’d like to know if individuals can be charged after they have left the organisation or if it’s only the hospital/trust as a whole. Because I want to see some of those individuals face charges. I don’t know how likely that is.

Surely you shouldn’t be able to just choose not to attend the verdict or the sentencing, she needs to hear the victim impact statements and see what she’s done to people.

Im sure Olivia Korbels mother is currently campaigning for this and has a petition going. Because the piece if shit that killed her daughter refused to come out of his cell for sentencing. Its just that last bit of control they have. It shouldn't be allowed to happen.

Hi all, I’ve been lurking for a while but decided to de lurk and say how much I’ve appreciated the insights on this thread. Like most of you I’ve felt a mixture or relief and horror at the verdict- and a sense of dread at what else might come out.
something that keeps playing on my mind is her mothers ‘I did it take me instead!’ remark. Surely it would be more normal to protest her daughter’s innocence?Mind you who’s to say what was normal in a background like that to lead to such a horrific turn of events.
A little off topic bud I thought this thread would appreciate it- an ex of mine grew up in Todmorden and Shipman was his family doctor. Ex’s grandfather smelled a rat years before anything came out and alerted the authorities. Nothing was done.

Thank you! Baffled is an understatement! Panorama has completely messed with my head. All this time, I have been thinking critically about the evidence and even early on after listening to the podcast, I felt certain that the jury would be able to find her guilty beyond reasonable doubt for some of the charges, but may struggle to reach that threshold in a few of the others.

Other than the usual 2-3 photos of her, I had not really considered a personal side to her or heard her voice. Now, seeing the social photos and watching her friend’s unwavering support has left me feeling either utterly scared that these monsters walk among us disguised as our best friends or trusted colleagues. And I even found myself daring to worry (despite the evidence) that maybe she didn’t do it!! Although I truly believe her to be guilty, I hate that I even had that fleeting doubt.

The other thing unnerving me is that so often, after a huge murder case, the Press are finally able to report some terrible crime or deed from the perpetrator’s past, which leaves us feeling relieved that the jury made the right decision, but in this case - nothing like that.

The only thing I have learned today is that 7/7 consultants on the unit reported their concerns about her involvement with the catastrophic events and deaths, not just ‘the gang of 4’. And to add insult to injury, they were forced to write her a letter of apology to resolve her formal grievance. I am absolutely beyond disgusted with the Trust’s management of the whole situation.

I am so new here, so I can’t begin to imagine how all of you who have seen this through on here are feeling right now. I hope you’re all doing ok while you process this mind-blowing case. Hugs and best wishes to you all.

I think a lot of people have underestimated how smart she is. Me included. She purposely has a clean history and close friends because that's the image she wants to show. It allows her to go undetected. She purposely did the attacks in such a way to ensure there was no pattern or direct evidence.

Everything she does is planned and calculated. Dr J when he said she made him come and apologise to her , that was her having the most fun.

I'm not being funny 99.9 percent of people would have left if their colleagues thought they were a serial killer and done an external complaint. She carried on as she wanted the consultants and even the ceo to bend to her will. She wanted the power and control over everyone.

I'm sorry but as a grown woman I would not want my parents involved in my job in any way. It's understandable to have a trusted person to be in on a meeting like this but I find her dad being there strange. It smacks of either dependency and/or her need to show her parents she is "good" and is having an apology from CEO, no less.

I think she could fit into the category of a covert narcissist - when she kept saying in texts "it's not about me" clearly means she thinks it is all about her and wants to come across as selfless when she was anything but.

I bet she couldn't face her parents in the dock when the guilty verdicts were coming in and that's why she won't come out. The amount of shame she must feel that she has been caught out and her true self revealed to everyone. She loved being seen as the victim who was "unfortunate" to be on duty each time something happened, so being exposed as the perpetrator and not the victim would make her feel shame, not the actual acts themselves which she won't feel a shred of guilt for.

Yes there's multiple child sex offenders and murderers roaming around the prisons and wards with the other inmates having no clue what they have done.

You're so right, I actually came across baby Ps mum during a shift at work, worked all afternoon talking to her about irrelevant stuff, small talk....she was needing help with housing etc...turned out she didn't need it, cos was recalled to prison a few days later!
It wasn't until my shift was over when I was told who she was....and the penny just dropped, otherwise I would have been none rhe wiser!

I hope the staff at countess neonatal are getting support especially yesterday when verdicts came in and all eyes on the unit.
I know many have moved on but there might still be a few there that worked with her, and just even knowing evil was amongst them must be horrible,
Just hate to think she was lurking about causing harm when the rest of the staff were trying there hardest to care for them.
Well apart from her friend Janet that’s been going to court daily, hoep she’s not still a nurse on that ward!

The thing with narcs, is if you’ve never experienced them, or people like them, you’re so vulnerable to falling for their shit. You have no benchmark by which to challenge them.
Once you’ve known one though, you’ve learnt the pattern (they’re all the same, which is ironic given they all think they’re god’s gift). You can see it a MILE away. I don’t even need to speak to somebody to spot some of them.

Regarding her arrests, I'm sure if she really had been taken away in her nightie during any of the arrests this would have been cleared up in court. She lied about it and the prosecution rightfully exposed the lie to show her true character.

I've watched the arrest video several times because I find her reaction fascinating. She looks like she dissociated. She is visibly shocked and mortified, not for what she has done, I think, but because the "nice Lucy" image she projects is starting to crumble. I 100% believe her slow movements, struggle getting in the car and mentioning her knee surgery are attempts to provoke sympathy and maintain the "poor Lucy" attention she so obviously craves.

I actually can believe her arrest caused her PTSD. Although they didn't batter down her door or drag her off in her nightwear, this is the moment she lost all control and knew she was about to be exposed for what she is. I'm sure that was hugely traumatic for her.

I 100% agree she is a covert narcissist.
