I discovered tattle and these LL threads the same time as Dellas wrong fella moment, I won’t lie, I had to go back and read the whole build up to that and it was just gold. I wasn’t even a member then but that was a thread highlight and is still top of my list for the one that won the internet

I’m going to say one more thing actually because I don’t take too kindly to being accused of enjoying or revelling in what happened to these people. When that could not be further from the truth, for any of us. You’re mistaking the bond we’ve forged, the laughs we’ve had to have to get past everything and the investment we have in the case because we desperately want the families to get justice as some kind of sick enjoyment of the actual events.
We are desperate for this thing to END. That is what truly unites us because actually, despite the echo chamber comments, there are many differences over aspects of the case, the jury, her motive, many things. Every day we hope it’s the day. Every day as the clock ticks down and we realise it isn’t, we are gutted. Frustrated. I want it over so badly so the world knows what she did and who she really is. I want that disgusting smug face of hers, holding up that baby grow, replaced with her scowling mugshot. I want all the people claiming she’s hard done by, to go back under their rocks. I want the families to put this harrowing chapter to rest. And more than ANYTHING we just want justice for those babies that had their whole lives ahead
of them, that she stole in the worst way imaginable. That is what really unites us and it’s not worthy of anybodies self righteous scorning condemnation.
And I’m going to share my mum’s message again, that summed it all up and explained how I feel about it all so well but this time, I’ll share my message she was replying to.

I seem to have aggrieved a few of you with my previous comment. Whilst this has been a fascinating thread with so many different facets I think enough is enough for me, I’m out of here.

I’m being nosy now, did you find them G or NG? I’m assuming you ended up having to reach a majority verdict if you couldn’t all agree. Sorry if you’ve said previously and I’ve missed it, or if you don’t want to say, that’s fine as well.

NG on all counts. Only one count was unanimous. I can't go into the ins and outs of why (as that would be unlawful) and there was a lot of anguish in delivering those verdicts but it was lawfully the right one.

And that's another thing to consider. Not Guilty does not mean the jury necessarily think the accused is innocent, it simply means the prosecution have not proved to the point the jury can be SURE that the accused did it. However, that is how a lot of the public will see it if she gets NG. Scotland's system of Not Proved is much better.

Well, this thread took a bit of a turn while I was out. I'm about to drink some wine, maybe a lot.

My daughter is so much better today, in fact she's made such good progress that the consultant says she may get home tomorrow, armed with another 10 days of antibiotics. I've been to see her this afternoon and she's definitely more like her usual self.

Surely if people here saw it as a soap they wouldn't want it to end, but pretty much everybody wants it over because it's a serious case (not soapy) and feel the families deserve swift justice.

Soap operas go on for decades purely because observers don’t want them to end.

Fantastic news! I've had kidney infections that took me over a temp of 40°, I've never felt so wretched or, frankly, as unhinged. fingers crossed she keeps doing well and gets home soon.

I hope once convicted the photos of her holding the baby and the sleepsuit are banished to the Pandora’s box of the internet and never shown again. Those pictures should never have been in the media given the charges and I’ve always thought it in bad taste

I agree. Also I still maintain that if the only photo of her out there was that one where she’s snarling at the camera in her Lee Cooper, she wouldn’t have the moronic fan base she does.

So I’ve definitely said some things on here that I know not everyone agrees with (read my last post about the jury for instance), but no one has come at me. And I’m a relatively new poster. I think maybe the difference between what I’ve posted and some of the arguments in recent days is that I try to be… measured? Not ranty? Not aggressive in how I address people? Try and see the other point of view as well as my own? Different opinions don’t mean you’re not welcome here in my experience, but a (perceived?) lack of respect is what will do it. Others may correct me if I’ve misinterpreted the reaction I’ve had though. If it angers you too much to see opinions that aren’t yours then by all means leave, but no need to if you can be balanced about it?
