So only one out of the three jurors that made commitments this week managed to rearrange? And the other two commitments just happen to be on a Monday and a Friday. At least he’s making them come in for 1pm tomorrow and not take the whole day.

I have it on very good authority that Judge Goss was delayed in the hardware store buying superglue for his ear.

I wonder if there is a problem with taking partial verdicts because of the media/public reaction potentially influencing the remaining charges, so risking an opportunity for appeal on those ones as unfair trial or something. I know it happened with Allitt but we didn’t even have internet then never mind social media.

So I have looked around Tattle ( I only found this case about a week ago because of the marcus mitchell thread) and reddit and as many articles as I can and I cant find the answer ( my detective skills aren't what they used to be) so sorry if this has been answered...
Do we have a statistic on generally how many babies died in her neonatal ward a year normally? All the babies on there are obviously poorly and precious little souls but I am just wondering if its quite a high number which is why Lucy thought she could get away with it.
I think it bears repeating that almost all babies on NICU are expected to leave it alive. Mine were on for 2 weeks to just give them a little bit of support before they went out to the big wide world as they just weren't quite cooked enough and this is the case for the vast majority of babies on NICU wards, particularly the lower level support wards like at COCH.

Yes they are precious and yes without the support of these wards they wouldn't be here, but no, they're not on the brink of death in these wards. It's just not possible that this many babies could collapse/die out of the blue and that's why she's guilty.

Most of the babies in this case would have left NICU perfectly healthy children if she hadn't got her hands on them. That's why the red flags were raised and the police were called

I’ve always thought she deliberately went after some of them because they were ivf babies too. Like a sick twisted pleasure she got from knowing how wanted they were and how hard it had been to get to where they were using ivf. Guess we may never know, but I think we will get such a better insight once verdict is in and we start hearing more about her background and others she hurt too (op hummingbird)😩
Along with IVF, I think it was largely how desperate and anguished the parents were. Baby G's mother was about 43 or 44, so this was her one shot at biological motherhood, along with baby G being a miracle baby born at 23 weeks and healthy and thriving. The mothers who had already lost one twin in the womb, and would have been extra anxious about their little survivors. The super-rare naturally conceived triplets sharing one placenta (a 1 in 200,000,000 occurrence), who had survived and thrived to 34 weeks.

I genuinely think the jury might not have got through all the charges yet. @sebanna pointed out (very good at breakdowns and levelheadedness amongst all our nonsense😂) that the jury have really only had a short amount of time to air their views individually. If they were going chronologically when they asked for the statements about baby H, they would only be getting to baby Q around now.
The delays have made everything feel so much worse 😰
Guess what though jury… you don’t have to rearrange appointments cos of jury service if you…….finish the jury service 👍🏻

Really !! I think we all pretty much nailed it on here within minutes of hearing all the evidence . And I'm sure those poor parents felt the same!! So NO I'm not happy to leave it in their hands and take the attitude of it will take as long as it takes..... it's disgusting they are taking this long !!! It's not rocket science... like I said probably some irritating do gooder!!!
We haven’t heard all the evidence though. Bit naive to think that imo. The reporting was absolutely shit for much of the early weeks there’ll be things that we aren’t privy to due to this and the restrictions.

It will take as long as it takes (as fucking annoying as that is).

There’s no need for us all to start turning on each other here.
