It sounds to me like judge Goss is absolutely fed up with them. Your not at school jurors like when your Mam sends you with a note to get out of P. E. FFS

Congratulations @gigilouxx I'm a firm believer that the world needs more gigis.

I wonder if they thought they wouldn't be on next week because the juror they let go yesterday had a holiday already booked so they thought they'd have to wait for them to get back but Gossy got rid instead.

Notice Dan didn’t mention female / male jurors today.

I think Goss is referring to saying initially the case should be wrapped up end of July so clearly they’ve made plans for August…
I knew he wouldn't because of people mentioning it here - proof that he reads here then!

On the morning of Friday, August 4, the judge told the jury that some of them had been operating under a "false premise" that the court would not be sitting next week, with three of the jurors having made appointments or commitments for that time.

He said he would not be "unsympathetic" if rearranging those appointments was "impossible", but those jurors should make efforts to do so at the earliest opportunity.

He added the jury should continue as a jury of 11, and give unanimous verdicts at this stage.

I'm not hopeful they'll be sitting every day next week then, FFS!

I have feeling they will be going through it baby by baby and may only be at child N. I think judge Goss will only accept a majority once they have had a good opportunity to go through all the evidence which will take another week, or two if they miss three days for appointments.

If it was 10-1 on some and I was the 1, I honestly think I'd just go with what the others think at this point. Rightly, or wrongly.

Oh hadn't thought of this. Totally plausible actually. Juror on honeymoon or unchangeable holiday and they thought they were getting a week off but the juror has stood down instead.

I wonder if he's stuck with unanimous to try and avoid the cries for a mistrial with a dismissed juror. If they had then announced G verdicts today, it could have given the defence rise to say "something's happened here, the only resistance was removed and now they've suddenly delivered guilty verdicts." 🤔

Also wtaf to appointments next week!
Yes to dismiss a juror and then straight away say you’ll take a majority wouldn’t be a good look. You’ve got to aim for unanimous. Particularly when a case is based on all circumstantial evidence like this.

Maybe the juror that was discharged yesterday thought they’d be done by now but had something they needed to attend next week and the jury thought they wouldn’t sit. Since they’ve been discharged which they may not have expected, they’ve been told they are in next week? I’m just pondering. Anyway, is he asking for himself here or…..

Holiday wouldn’t cut it for sure. I have no doubt they’ll have had to cancel many things like that now 😔

I'm sick of trying to be nice about these jurors now . I'm feeling quite uneasy it's in their hands tbh. Let's just hope they see her for what she is despite being pains in the a.

You lot are well harsh on the jurors 😂 if they were told the trial would be over or the court wouldn’t be sitting that week then they’re totally within there rights to book appointments or whatever, psychos you lot 😂😂

Why would they think court wasn't sitting next week? Surely there's only one way it wouldn't be. Do juries have to be there for sentencing too?

If (and I'm aware it's a big if) she's found NG on all counts, would there then have to be another investigation about why there were so many deaths at the hospital? Or would it just be put down to bad luck?
It's an unusually high number of losses, no? So presumably they'd have to look for another explanation?
There’s one waiting in the wings called Operation Hummingbird - An advert for a Detective Chief Inspector to head it up was posted in June last year . 😉
