Anyone know why they don’t ‘work’ from 9-5?
Must be to help with missing rush hour / doing the school run etc and also it’s a pretty intense day.. 6 hours is more than enough.

Don’t know if anyone is the same but I have an unofficial deadline of 3pm in my head like if the verdict doesn’t come by then it won’t come that day as if it’s after 3pm the 4pm finish is out of the window.

Exhausting isn't it! I threatened to move out and leave them to it!

She isn't a bad kid, she's 18 so needs some sort of freedom! She works, drives, affords her own car so don't see why he needs to dictate what time she comes in at night or who she hangs around with!

She doesn't help by winding him up, if she learnt to keep her big mouth shut he wouldn't need to give an opinion.

Ugh...thank god for the parrot, at least he is pleasant.
Haha!! I am constantly telling my 16 year old to keep her gob shut! She knows exactly how to press his buttons and can out argue him which he hates. Yup. Exausting and draining as duck! Sympathies.

I feel ya. It’s hard sometimes ❤ summer holidays, little kids & zero help (even tho mil lives on the same street & thinks it’s ok to let herself in with a key as & when…) sending much ❤
I’d be taking that key off her 😳 feck that!

Sounds like the icks have dried up a bit.

Next question suggestion: what’s your favourite tip / hack for the house or general life? (The word hack gives me the ick)

mine is that if you burn your cheap polyester suit clothes on the iron and it leaves those black marks you can turn the iron on high heat, rub a paracetamol tablet on the marks and it takes them clean off.

Shake your bin bag open, then run your hand down it to make a 'stick'... much easier to pop into the bin!

Can't they work past 4 just for once

I always say to her 'if he asks you a question then tell him what he wants to hear' 🤣🤣.

She tells me everything anyway and I deal with it so why tell miserable twit something that will wind him up? Swear she does it on purpose and then they both come complaining to me.

He sits and waits up for her coming up, sat tapping foot and clock watching! Then has a go if he thinks it's too late.

I go to bed and just have my phone on, she knows where I am if she needs me. I don't sleep properly until she is home but I certainly don't sit around waiting for an argument.

On the back of the icks - In one of my university cohorts, there was a male with long nails (sometimes dirty, too).

Interestingly, his pinky nail stood out due to its extraordinary length, and he would consistently be filing this long nail in lectures. I think last time I seen it, it was all pointy 😭😭😭😭 like a witches nail 😭😭😭😭 and he was like in his 50s. I constantly had to sit as far away from him as possible, as I would become fixated on this weirdly long nail.

Just catching up. I second a lot of the icks, especially eating/breathing sounds.
I know some community nurses/carers have to hit the shops but nurses uniforms in the supermarket give me the boak, I just picture the flakes that fall off when you redo compression bandages 🤢
Also get the ick from things that are no longer attached- nail clippings, teeth (baby teeth or dentures), clumps of hair. I did once find a dead toe in amongst bed sheets I was changing. It was expected to come off but was still pretty horrible when it rolled across the floor.
Definitely I get you, as a DN I just have to though as we obv don’t change our uniform from house to house. As we’re reminded though by our bosses to anyone that complains, that’s what our PPE and hand hygiene is for. I just nip in for water or my lunch right enough, wouldn’t do my full weekly shop 😅 What’s on par perhaps are the docs, health visitors or anyone really who also nip in too but no one knows as they’re in normal clothes.

Wearing shoes indoors gives me the absolute ick, makes me feel ill infact and I think I’m worse now since having my baby. I never wore shoes inside before anyway but my husband was more blasé and it infuriates me 😂

This bit creeped me out,
will we ever find out who the baby is n the rose covered box and what heinous acts did she carry out?
I wonder if it was her first victim

Mr Johnson asks if Lucy Letby wishes to change any of her answers from yesterday. Letby: "No."

Mr Johnson asks if handover sheets were handed out to student nurses.

Letby said she would have handover sheets as a student nurse at some placements, but in the neonatal unit she cannot recall specifically. She tells the court it was not standard practice at the neonatal unit to hand out handover sheets to student nurses "for the time we are talking about".

Mr Johnson says one of the handover sheets, dated June 1, 2010, was in a keep-sake box with roses on the box, when Letby was a student nurse [Letby having started full-time employment at the hospital on January 2, 2012]. Letby says she cannot recall it.

Mr Johnson asks what is "unusual" about the handover sheet, and how it differs from the others.

Letby is unsure what Mr Johnson means.

Mr Johnson: "It is in pristine condition."

Letby: "It's the original?"

Mr Johnson: "Yes."

Letby: "Ok."

FFS just had breaking news but it's from Derby crown court. It's a horrible case though, person found guilty.

Omg I'm screaming 😂😂😂😂😂 wow, I'd never even thought of that. What a shout 😂

Another ick - he also had curly, unkempt hair on his neck, that always looked in need of a haircut. He had a habit of fiddling with those curls incessantly, which sent me west 😭 and to make matters worse, his hair was perpetually greasy and stunk 😭😭

Brb bringing up me lunch thinking about this fella 😭😂
