You wouldn’t believe the things that witch did. Force-fed us Whiskas, tried to put us in the bath, we also had to go sleep in the commode when her and Dr NoName were making the bed rock. Not to mention she didn’t like it when I weed on her papers.

We scarpered and are both now in a better place. Location top secret for security reasons.
OK. This thread was weird before but it this is a whole new level of weird! 🙀🙀🙀😂

Christ I came here for a quick nosey before reading todays trial updates but instead I’ve spent 10 mins looking at google images of duck penises and reading about their mating habits. Guess we won’t be walking along the river to feed the ducks tomorrow. I am going to need a few days to scrub all this from my brain.

Feels so surreal to hear by Monday they’ll be out and it’ll be a waiting game.

And I’m sorry but he’s one of us isn’t he. Go on Gossy babe xoxo

Oh and @Deeznutslol was absolutely right, the sample would have shown higher levels of insulin if anything had they got the sample tested sooner. 👏🏼

I don't think he's leaning to the prosecution he's stating the facts from both sides and the expert witness findings. There were no expert witnesses for the defence so he cannot give any for them. He has also mentioned sub optimal care in some cases which isn't of benefit to the prosecution.
Tbh I think his first bit of direction was extremely helpful to the prosecution case. He talked about looking at similarities and patterns and BNE finished on a huge list of all the similarities and patterns. He talked about how strong and overwhelming circumstantial evidence can be. He talked about not having to be sure of what happened just that there was harm. It was everything prosecution have been saying all through every part of their case from opening to closing. Then BM stood up and contradicted it all.
I agree that yes currently if it feels he’s prosecution heavy but that’s just because the defence have so little to bring to the table. BM even started his speech by saying something along the lines of “I think I know what you’re all thinking” 🤣 and of course his classic “I’m the only person that’ll defend the big faced cunt”.
I truly believe Letby is completely resigned to her fate also. Hence the manner she has in court too. She’s known since before she wrote that note that this was what her life would be because she couldn’t stop or control her desire to kill and hurt. She tried when the email was sent after baby I about the mortality rate. She was utterly out of control by the triplets though. High on the thrill of finally killing multiples.
All those bizarre ramblings and her signature over and over, the woe is me and wanting to get her “old life” back and her thinking the consultants were BASTARDS was just her frustration at not being able to hurt and kill still. No kicks. No power. She has kicks and (perceived) power by putting everyone through this hell.

For me personally I’m totally with @gigilouxx - I believed before it started that she was guilty. There’s no way this would’ve made it to trial without the case being utterly water tight. It involves the NHS, it involves tiny babies, the crimes are so prolific. To get this wrong would have been an absolute disaster.

There are other cases that the CPS won’t allow charges to be made. John Cannan is a serial killer who is inside for only one murder, that of Shirley Banks. He is guilty of two more (in my opinion etc etc) - Suzy Lamplugh (no body but vastly overwhelming circumstantial evidence plus confessions including one immediately retracted in police interview) and Sandra Court (partial but significant DNA match plus immediately retracted confession in police interview). The CPS will still not allow charges to be made.

It was his case that led me to read about others after I was reminded of Suzy L where she was referred to in a song lyric. That led me to read about her case, which I thought was a complete mystery initially, until I read more and found that it really wasn’t. After that I read a load more books about (I hate the expression) ‘true crime’. The interest I think I had and that a lot of people have in these cases are the psychology behind the perpetrators and the police work in catching them. Whilst the latter is always interesting, the former usually isn’t. It’s always the same. They’re psychopaths and narcissists who get sexual thrills from what they do. That is literally it. There is rarely any other explanation. Nature/nurture is always of interest and generally there’s some catalyst but the broad story is usually the same. I don’t see Letby as being any different really but I’ve said before why I’m particularly interested, given that I’m a parent of an only child and this case being a parents worst nightmare in many ways.

Once the note was mentioned, that sealed it, although when the trial started I read about it from the POV of being on the jury. Would there be enough evidence to convict? From Baby A to Baby D I tried to be objective but once we got to E I just thought ‘who are we kidding’. It’s just so blatant, the whole sorry shitshow.

This baby provokes all sorts of emotions in me, anger at LL, tears for the suffering, I can hardly bear to read about the crying relentlessly, it's just so bloody awful. I don't know how the parents are coping with this, having to listen to how their baby suffered.
Was just thinking about this today, the poor parents. They’ve had to listen to the horrific details of how their child was harmed/murdered, and it’s become more apparent each time how cruel she was and how much pain she inflicted on them, the poor parents having to sit and listen about their child firstly in the prosecution opening, then the defence opening, then all of the prosecutions case and evidence (going into great detail and also traumatic detail), then the defences case, and then the cross (which was mostly farcical and frustrating for them no doubt), then again in prosecution closing, then the defence closing, and now finally again for the judge’s summing up. As a parent I cannot imagine how truly awful this has been for them the last 10 months nearly, so heartbreaking to have to hear about it so many times. I hope when LL is found guilty it will bring them a little comfort and peace.

It’s also awful for them as others have said to have all their final memories, photos and memory boxes etc tainted by that evil piece of shit

I also agree that child I is a particularly strong case, and makes complete sense that that’s why BM went so hard on Dr Evans here to try and discredit, wasn’t a coincidence at all was it, good spot to the PP that pointed it out. Child I was always one of the ones I found particularly disturbing, shows LL’s real depravity with the bath comments, and the sympathy card on the phone. It’s very telling that she wrote that card at home, and then brought it into the hospital to photograph it back at the place where she’d murdered I, was deffo another if her sick trophies. And hearing about her bathing E, firstly shows we have missed huge amounts of significant details in the reporting, and secondly showed she had a very strong pattern of her spending a lot of time with the babies after she’d killed them, I think now that every single one of them she’s physically been with them afterwards. She’s such an evil sick bitch I honestly am feeling sick today, we are so close to the end now and the more comes out the worse it’s getting. There is going to be so so so much more once the verdict is in. There’s also some tea that I’m sure Nosy is dying to share with us when the time is right. Has been great having some Tattle Burgundy’s able to attend and give us a clearer picture of what is actually going on in court.

Lastly someone on the last thread (that weirdly wouldn’t let you like anything once closed), said about the red flags of serial killers in health care article that I shared quite a few times in the early threads, and even back then LL ticked a whole load of the boxes (despite some minor disputes at the time over which of them🤣🙈). I’m actually going to go find that academic paper cos I’ll bet now we know far more, she will have ticked possibly all of them (and if not after the verdict and new info comes out, I’ll bet she’ll have ticked all of them)

I can’t believe we are finally at the end, I really can’t. Hoping that by this time next week we will finally have justice for all the babies, families and ex colleagues of LL. So so so many lives ruined by this piece of shit, the enormity of it is just much and just so sad. I unfortunately feel their are still many lives going to be further ruined as the police investigation will bring a whole lot more charges. I think a lot of the parents will speak out, and I hope they do partly so their babies will be remembered by more than just the letter they have been given in court
---
I agree, I feel so emotional today now the end is in sight. At times it’s felt like we’d never get here.
I also agree, this is exactly how I’m feeling today too. Think the ones that have been here since the beginning and subsequently are all feeling this today ❤

I definitely think she will be given a whole life order when if found guilty on multiple counts. As per the following link, premeditated murder of a child should carry a whole life order. She has murdered and attempted to murder more than one baby. I'm sure the protection of the public will also be taken into account. If she's willing to murder in a hospital setting what more is she willing to do if set free into society?
Also, she was in a position of power and there to protect, she deviated so far from that role in order to commit these awful crimes.

If only the judge could add conditions such as a daily air injection, stab down the throat, smack in the liver and a little suffocation. Eye for an eye and all that.
She went out of her way to murder baby I. She waited for mum to go on the school run, she knew her routine. She’s often planned coming in early and staying late. She knows what the consequences are of giving children air, filling their stomachs, injuring their throats and she continues to do it over and over again. The intent is obvious imo.

How she acted after the death of Baby I is beyond deranged. There is something seriously wrong with her.

One thing I can’t work out, is how she chose which babies to attack? There have been cases where she has attacked babies that were under the care of another nurse and (as far as I’m aware) the babies under her care were left alone.

Maybe it was babies who were poorly enough (or she thought might have had another condition) so she could cover her tracks? But then.. if they were really poorly and could have died anyway what is she getting out of that? Maybe you can’t attach any rational thought too her actions..
I think that she attacked the babies under the care of other nurses that she was jealous of to make it look like that nurse wasn't very good at their job. The babies under her care were left alone to make it look like she was the better nurse.

Having the judge lay it all out side by side really makes the defence (or lack of it) stand out. It's very stark and hugely damning when Judge Goss quotes the professional views of 4 or 5 medical experts and then just has a throwaway line saying defence disputes and says suboptimal care, with no other witness to back it up.

What are we thinking about the insulin cases now that it has been confirmed that it’s probably more likely Myers was correct and baby L did indeed receive a lower dose than baby F, rather than double the dose as NJ said? Personally I still think there’s a strong chance she’ll be found guilty for both ngl.
At the end of the day both babies received synthetic insulin when they hadn't been prescribed it, so they were deliberately poisoned. I don't believe 2 separate people did the poisoning despite the difference in dosage and I don't think 2 different murderers were killing babies on the same ward at the same time. I do however believe beyond reasonable doubt that LL murdered all of the babies she is accused of murdering, so I will apply that and say she also attempted to murder F&L.

I think she's going to be found guilty on all charges.

Yep it certainly was the day I went. Utter psychopath/narcissist.

The only reason it took the stand was for a final few weeks of attention, and as a poster said earlier - "to twist the knife".

"Can you speak up please" to one of the Mum's

"I don't remember that baby" (and then remembering some minutiae about something happening in the ward in relation to the same baby)

"I collect paper" - simply taking the piss out of everyone for her own entertainment.

Presuming it's found guilty, I just wish there could be some other outcome for this specimen. And I don't mean NG!!
Saying "I don't remember that baby" in front of the parents is just pure evil, like she can just discard them as something insignificant whilst sitting in the same room as the people that have that baby etched into their soul. It's another power trip.

I have spent ages trying to find the message Dr NN sent to Lucy which implied he had been at COCH or NICU before baby L and I can’t find it 😭

I know there was some discussion over whether something isn’t right with his involvement but honestly all I see is a married man who is thinking with his dick. He probably enjoyed being her saviour when she was taken off the unit and went through the grievance etc. He couldn’t believe she had done anything wrong because frankly he just wanted to shag her.
I thought he’d said something along the lines of ‘I’d heard about you from the last doctors’ - trying to blow smoke up her arse and imply she had a good reputation with the previous registrar cohort. You know better than me though Tof so I may be very wrong.
I just get a bit fed up of the extended bashing of him in this. He’s a cheating prick, but his colleagues will know that, his family will know it and one day his kids will know it too. Kids who he may not even see regularly depending on his wife’s actions. People sadly cheat on their partners every day and it wasn’t his fault that LL was fooling everyone and causing the harm she did whilst he was thinking with his penis around her.
Being made to pay for the repercussions of his actions as a cheat - absolutely. Being made to pay publicly/having his name searched for after being collateral damage of a SK who he gave evidence against in the end - not ok. In my opinion anyway.

Needless to say I spend most of my working day reading this thread on my PC with multiple internet windows open and discussing with my friend.

Everyone's input is amazing in so many different ways that makes everything easier to understand.

I am quite local to Manchester and have been desperate to go to court but not been able to yet.

Love the banter between everyone it makes the reading less difficult sometimes.

Forgot to mention earlier about that it's good to see Judge Matt Goss include the "looking at......for" from LL and the fact she didn't answer afterwards 👍

Imagine being some poor old schmuck at these salsa classes, paired up with this weak-jawed wonder who regales you of tales from Cockington and her hobby collecting paper. Then, years later, you see her face on the news for this trial 👽
