I voted during opening statements. As soon as I heard that two babies were poisoned I thought it would likely be a strong case.

However I was prepared to change my mind if the evidence didn’t actually materialise or if Ben had some strong counter evidence for reasonable doubt purposes. But that never happened. So I’ve not really wavered since opening statements. Just a bit concerned about the jury mix incase they have too many conspiracy theorists.

The thought of Lucy bathing baby E after he had passed away, I can’t put into words. It’s sickening, disturbing and I can’t imagine how the parents feel having that memory stuck in their heads. There isn’t a word strong enough. It’s horrifying.

I don’t know how that got missed in previous reporting.

Can you remember the photo of the shift pattern for baby E and F? Did it sound like she took the photo as a memory? It came across that way in reporting.
This had always been such a hard part of the case to reconcile in my brain. She took so many of the photos of these babies. The last photos. Dressed them when they had passed She took the place of giving “care” and bathing them when she was actually a monster. Took them away. It’s an unimaginable level of cruelty to those families. It’s grotesque. The stuff of horror films. She wants to make herself special to them- I wonder if anyone’s thinking of you at all. I did the memory box. I persuaded the parents to stay- about baby Cs parents who she actually tried to get to hand over their baby for the morgue whilst he was still breathing!
I just cannot wait till she is known for the unspeakable evil she is.

Ffs I’ve just got on to the new thread and you guys are already on page 24 😭😭😭 slow the fuck down gals and guys!! I am so bloody behind……..I can’t keep up anymore I don’t have enough hours in the day. Juggling working fulltime, kids, housework (I’m lying there is no time for housework - it’s either tattle or housework), pets, among everything else all on my own as Mr B has been deployed over seas for 7 months (1 month down). Only saving grace is I can read the threads In evening without being moaned at for neglect 😆.

great Idea for the new poll @Tofino very insightful!

@Lucyxxxx massive congratulations what beautiful news ❤❤❤

hey @MmmB777 @OldBlondie @Haveyouanywool @Wellthisisinteresting
@docmum @DellaC @LittleMy and all the other’s, I’m feeling a little weird this is all nearly over it’s been all consuming for so long now. Can’t place my feelings, and can’t even begin to imagine how the families are navigating this all right now 😞

Also welcome newbies! Glad to see we have many new like minded people, you have all mostly restored my faith that justice will be served!

But just to add I really don’t have time for any forgetby fans! Not interested one bit in hearing anyone out, it really is just madness at this point.

carry on, but not too quickly, while I catch up!

To be fair, she’ll never have to worry about cooking again either. Prison is too good for the likes of her😤
I was actually thinking, as a solo parent to a 5 year old, it would be quite nice not to ever have to cook a meal again. Maybe I’ll stop paying my tv licence.

What are we actually going to do while the jury are out? o_O I've got anxiety just thinking about it. And does anyone know if Letby will have to come to court each day and wait somewhere in a cell, potentially over and over for days or weeks, or will they call her from jail when the verdict is in and we'll have a couple of hours' warning while they transport her to court?

Edited for clarity.
We’ll chat shit on here like we do on non court days hahaha xx

God these threads are moving faster than usual now!!

So I voted before the trial as I always thought she was guilty but obviously I was open to hearing the evidence. I remained guilty, then went to unsure at one point (for 1 thread) & then back to guilty & have remained guilty ever since. Her cross exam sealed it officially for me.

Re the judge being G/NG. He is impartial. All he is doing is summarising the evidence presented by both sides. If you think he is “favouring the prosecution” then sorry to break it to you, that means the evidence being presented is leaning more G than NG 🙃 it’s not the judge.

@Tangerine Cat I can see someone else has responded to your post. I completely get that if you’ve not followed quite closely you still might have questions but honestly, the prosecution have really settled any niggles I had. Her cross examination was extremely damning so if you do have chance to go back over things, I’d recommend going over that part. Yes some of these babies were poorly, but as we’ve heard lots on here, that doesn’t make them on deaths door. Also, the other deaths, with respect, are irrelevant. The charges she faces are deaths/attempts that cannot be naturally medically explained. Please remember that prior to police involvement other reports had been done. Also, when one of the experts initially got involved, he expressed his experience in medical negligence…I Dont even think murder was on anyone’s minds!

It is awful to think that anyone would be capable of these crimes. However, people are evil. Mothers kill their own children so yes, what LL is accused of is horrendous..possibly the worst of the worst, and having followed so closely, I have 0 doubt that she did these things. I would have no issue finding her guilty of every count and that’s just based on the reporting!

The trial judge says the case of Child Q will be referred to on Monday at 10.30am.

The jury "will be beginning their deliberations" before the lunch break on Monday.

He says he expects that to be after an hour's court sitting.

He urges the jurors to bring their refreshments with them on that day.

I voted for when she took the stand. The first day she took the stand to be precise. No more hearing out the defence was needed for me. Also someone asked what will we do while the jury is out. I'll be recreating the moment I got pregnant again personally.

It's these actions that make her a monster. She was revelling in it, bathing in the grief that she's caused. It's sick.

And then she has the audacity to sit in that fucking dock and act like Florence shitting Nightingale.

This is the first time I’ve let emotion creep in today and I’ve had tears in my eyes re-reading the summary of baby I. The fact she put that poor little baby through repeated hell and that baby fought it’s little hardest to survive but she did it again and again until the poor little love couldn’t do it anymore. She is absolutely disgusting.

I think it’s really obvious as well that baby I is a strong evidential case. This is why the defence tried to discredit both drs here and chose this point to bring in their evidence about the dr to try make him less credible. It’s not worked. I’ve seen through what they’ve done and i absolutely believe she is a monster

The trial judge confirms the jury will not be starting deliberations on Thursday, as he will not have completed his summing up until Monday.

He says that will happen 'earlier rather than later' on Monday, July 10.

He says the court will resume 10.30am-4pm tomorrow
oh goodness. They are still on track to start deliberations on Monday! Next week is going to feel quite surreal whatever happens.

I'm not in the NG camp but a lot of things haven’t been explained thoroughly for me to make a firm decision.

Take Child C, I read this today…..

View attachment 2284855
So baby C had a twisted colon and acute pneumonia. Whilst they were not determined to be a cause of death, that baby was very poorly. What are the chances of someone deciding to murder a baby who was so poorly?

we keep getting told that these babies weren’t expected to die and were 'stable', yet here is evidence of illness that could have easily caused his/her death.

LL is not on trial for all the baby’s murders that died, I think there’s 5 others, so what happened to them?

I stepped away from this thread for months because it was so upsetting but have been following, and am now looking again but there are still lots of questions.

LL continually going in that room after Child C died is very concerning and by the time we get to Child L she’s returning from holiday and saying she’ll no doubt be back 'with a bang' and child L and M suddenly die on her consecutive shifts. That’s far too coincidental.

I still have questions BUT I think my problem is that I don’t want to believe she did murder them because it’s too terrible to think about AND a relative of mine employed by the NHS has been through a terrible experience with them where they broke their own policy procedures and lied and lied to cover their tracks, so I also don’t trust them.

I’m all over the place!

(Also, thank you to everyone for updating these threads and the WIKI as they are a brilliant source of info. I had to C&P this over as the previous thread closed).
The chances of a very poorly baby being murdered when there is a murderer on the unit is the same as those babies that are doing much better.

I don’t think she chose baby C for any particular reason other than she so desperately wanted to get into room 1 and was really angry with her colleagues.

There could be a number of reasons the other deaths are not on the indictment. It doesn’t mean she’s not associated with them. They could even be poor care ones but they identified the cause in those cases like in other trusts. It doesn’t mean Lucy wasn’t also harming babies.

The judge can also actually rule which cases are admissable or not, or on a case this size he can rule only a certain number of cases be heard because of the size of the trial. If there was anything valid in those other cases for her defence I would have thought the judge would allow it otherwise it would be an unfair trial?

So I just don’t think other cases we know nothing about should even be a consideration.

After a bottle of wine and trying to catch up i just wanted to say i feel like she is more clever than anyone anyone expected.... UNTIL now!!!! For years she has manipulated and blagged every one from people with the greatest qualifications, doctor's, psychiatrist, police, family, friends, Dr No Name who im making my mission in life to find out his identity. I hope his mrs chopped little Mr no name 's tattle off (poor joke) or used put it where he doesn't want it (use ur imagination) 🤣 im 42 years old no human babies of my own but i still feel the pain everyone talks about on this thread. I have a neice and nephew who i adore but Im a furr mummy and i love my girl like i carried her. God only knows how the families of these poor babies feel its horrendous. The last 48 hours have been really hard. I dont know if anyone agrees but i feel more delicate info has come out with The Judge Goss re-reminding us about this tragedy.

Maybe that's poor reporting or i have taken a step away ..... i spoke to my friend/ work colleague today about everything. I have also known this beaut since she was a toddler. Im alot older than her. We lived next door to each other for a few year's but she knows my family.
Someone posted earlier about her intention to harm the triplets... especially with the sickening pre- written card😭

i have biological triplet cousins none identical. They are 35 now. Born at st Mary's Manchester at 30 weeks all weighing 3.5lb. 2 weeks in icu. They all have amazing careers and 100% healthy. Those poor babies should be doing the same given this was so many years later and medicine is so much more advanced!!

On a lighter note before bed. 😂 i got married last year, already full on following u 'Fellas' and even tho i dont actually know u i feel like i do!?! I swear thats not the wine talking. I waited til hubby went to sleep to catch up!!!! Then he woke coz my hair grips was stuck in his back 😂🙈!!

He asked if i was having an affair!! 🤦‍♀️🙈😂🙈 xx

My fella also has 2 x sets of twins from a previous marriage!! Can u imagine if we did have kids id probs end up woth quads!!! 🙈

Massive congratulations @Lucyxxxx
No sex on my wedding nite.
Thanks @Tofino for the welcome and everyone. The wiki is amazing. Not sure of ur usual career but maybe u should rethink it.

As a non human mum i dont always understand the terminology re children/ babies so its great the variety of people in this thread .

I have predictive tx on my phone so i apologise now if something doesn't make sense!! I swear it isnt the wine. Good nite God Bless all. Xx

I went to court again yesterday but didn't have time to post anything last night. It was quite busy in the courtroom we were in. It was a very full day and didn't finish until around 4.30. Judge Goss gave a lot of information around nursing/medical things and only a really small amount was reported on CS which is understandable, however their round up on CS I think covered things fairly well. Straight after lunch the IT went a bit haywire with the picture and sound breaking up and for a little while it was hard to hear all he said but it was resolved fairly quickly. I'm getting a bit muddled with the letters A-Q because he just uses the names in his summing. I think he's summing up very well discussing evidence from the prosecution and defence and the prosecution is to me stronger (and hopefully the jury too) because he is able to explain all the expert witness findings which have shown air embolus or overfeeding so someone did it and whilst some sub optimal care has been shown it is clear this didn't cause babies to collapse and die. As you know baby E was summed up yesterday and I think it was incredible that LL had said mum bathed baby after the baby had passed away yet mum said LL bathed baby. It must have been the worst day of mum's life so she would never have forgotten who did this but I think LL was trying to distance herself by saying this. Also with the insulin case BM had said if
LL had done this unsuccessfully why didn't she attempt it again on a subsequent day but the same could be said for any other nurse if they had done it so to me this doesn't in anyway support her not doing it and as we know there was only her and another nurse there both times. He's slowly getting through the cases but it's hard to see how he'll finish by Thursday so I wonder if it'll run into next week. I think there are still about 10 babies still to sum up. Anyway hopefully justice for the parents won't be too far away now. The Judge comes across as a likeable man and not pompous.

Sorry to butt in. I'm new, I've been following these threads since this trial began. I was aware of the case in the background and I guess I assumed when they finally re-arrested her that it was not about poor care. I think I saw something about the famous wiki on either Mumsnet chat or Reddit and because those threads were discussing the case in too roundabout a way, I came here because the discussion has been so robust and detailed and the evidence has been so thoroughly explored.

I see no contradiction between LL doing this and her being young, 'nice', a nurse etc. and I remember the Allitt case. I did wonder if there was any question of her being incompetent and foolishly covering it up etc until the prosecution opening statement laid it all out and I thought there was a good chance LL could be guilty, given the charges and time taken to investigate. I've only firmed up that opinion since the prosecution evidence and her own cross-exam.

Thank you to everyone who contributes to these threads, they have been very informative and also darkly funny. For the record, I am not ginger but lived in Scotland for a long time so was ginger-adjacent in many ways. I thought I liked Turkish delight until someone sent me the real stuff and I realised I just like British Delight (i.e. sweet jelly covered in chocolate). I bought a 'designer' denimn jacket from Matalan in 2002 and I don't want to say any more about that.

Well yes there is that! I wanted to see her reaction, like there’s nothing. I mean I’m just overrrr emotional since I had my kids but there’s nothing from her. Like I wanted her to fight for freedom at least, but she didn’t. I can’t understand why she took the Stand in all honesty it did her no favours at alll
I went to court today and the picture on the screen was better than it's been before when I've been and I could see her quite well. I was looking at her when it had all finished for the day when everything was relaxed and I said to my friend "she doesn't look look one bit bothered". She was flanked by about three prison officers and it felt like they were all friendly with each other. At lunchtime for the first time I saw her dad and her friend, I think her mum was behind the friend so I didn't see her. They were leaving the courtroom when we were leaving the courtroom next door. The judge indicated he thinks he'll finish his summing up on Monday by lunchtime. BM walked past us too outside the courtroom.
