Rather than Karen said shall we go to the beach. We would say she’s a gate shall we go to the beach

I feel like I’ve had a stroke reading this 🫠 and this is coming from a Westcountry bumpkin, used to hearing people like Gerald from Clarkson’s Farm talking

For those asking “she’s agate (agait)” is a particular east Lancs (Blackburn or Burnley area) way of saying “so she said”, for example instead of saying “he said Lucyfer is not guilty and she said ‘don’t talk out of yer a’”, it would be “he’s agait ‘not guilty’ but she’s agait ‘guilty as duck’”
My mum used to say it all the time, God rest her soul.

I bloody love Liverpool, the friendliest people ever. First time there on my own I was having a wander along the docks and smiled at someone they stopped and talked to me for ages and then another guy was like “you alright love” big smile and talking, I got my mirror out my bag incase I had something funny on my face
( probs just my face) honestly it was a shock being from London, when someone speaks to you .. very slowly and carefully move away, no fast movements and AVOID any eye contact

Sanddancers say something similar. They'd say 'she's geet "guilty as duck"'. Sounds more like 'git' when they say it so quite similar.

Even though I live in Salford, I'm from Merseyside originally. I'd never heard an alley called a ginnel before I met my husband or a pram/pushchair called a trolley! Only about 30 miles difference but like a different language!

It annoys the hell out of me when he and his mum says 'lurry' for 'lorry' - how I've not ended up in the dock for ABH/GBH/Murder is a miracle!

I live in a small village in Derbyshire, peak district, stunning valleys, walks. Not so much as our Scottish fellas. Ive been googling all day these places
Im not a psycho honest just nosy and curious... Maybe more nosy

It was on the news about 3 or 4 years ago. Myself and @MrsWhipey both live in the next village. It was carnage.

Everywhere was being evacuated, army and raf brought in etc. Scary tbh at the time. It's all on YouTube.

Apart from that ita a great place to grow up and bring kids up. We get walkers from all over coming here. We are 20 mins from castleton too. U have German shepherd's don't u? If not that was a joke i missed they would love walking here x
