Any time she serves on remand will get deducted from her whole life sentence, so she needn’t worry about how long she’s on remand for 🤭
---

I just had to stop reading when I saw someone say it was normal for nurses to go in on their days off, and Lucy’s body clock would have been used to night shifts. And she lived alone. I mean, even Lucy didn’t give those as reasons as to why she went in, so they are just making stuff up now. It’s not even speculation when Lucy has asked why and she’s given a different answer.

They also think NJ clarifying Lucy can access the unit without a record of a swipe card means any other staff member could have done the same and harmed the babies.

I don’t mind a bit of debate but the stretching is insane. They seem to just look at each piece of evidence in isolation so discount it. They are not able to look at the bigger picture of how it all fits together.
Jason Monaghan who BM defended but was found guilty of 3 murders got 46 years so if LL got the same sentence minus 3 years on remand she would be 76 when she got out.

I do think it's weird/interesting that there were not attempts/attacks made on the third triplet. If she attacked both babies in both set of twins, I wonder why the third triplet was let unharmed?

Still gobsmacked about the bin rumaging and going in at 11pm.

If there are more witnesses will they be for the prosecution because I thought BM had finished his defence.
Ben could still call defence witnesses once LL is finished being cross-examined by NJ. His defence isn’t over yet.

As I said, I'm not justifying it at all! The more she speaks, the less I believe. I just think the general culture and management bear some responsibility for allowing this to carry on, for so long, on their watch. Despite concerns being raised etc. I think the triplets' mum was talking about a much wider issue than LL when she desribed the difference between night and day when they finally got their baby out.

I just hope that this case can bring about systemic changes, proper ones, that prevent this from happening again, rather than the ridiculous 'lessons have been learned' platitudes we always hear after big cases like this. Then the same thing happens again. It's maddening!
I totally agree with you, I can’t stand when they hit out with that sort of nonesense when you know for a fact nothing has changed at all.

Dr Noname is given the title Dr A. Has the other no name Dr (Dr Noname 2), placed in The Gang of 4 in the trial) been assigned a letter too (2)?

Fuck me those poor Jurors. I was hoping the case would be concluded by June 30th so I could start following Bryan Kohberger/Idaho case but he’s now been indicted so that won’t be for years now I think! Just aswell as I suspect this case will wrap up in about 2038?
I love Court TV, I'm looking forward to the suitcase murderer trial

I was struggling to understand this bit tbh.
If we mistakenly logged electronic
notes against the wrong patients name, it can happen, we could email with all the relevant information (with CHI, patient identifying numbers) a department who would rectify the mistake, after ensuring all details were now correct. Some administrative functions were above our level.
Completing an electronic note meant you couldn’t re-edit. ‘Keeping it open’ meant you could record a care and save but not complete the note so could continue to edit until you had completed it.

Yes it was, Dr Jayaram was never challenged on his recollection when he was up. It's only now that Lucy has rewritten history (lied) that his recollection was challenged. Ben should have done it when he had him on the stand but he didn't know Lucy was going to change the story.
Thank you, I thought so but wasn't sure!

I have been stuck in meetings-that-could-have-been-emails ALL DAY so my brain is literally jelly.

So the below was yesterday - what is it about this that is so significant? That when Dr Jayaram was giving his evidence BM didn't object?

Mr Myers says there is a point, alleged, when Dr Jayaram sees Letby by Child K, and Child K's tube is dislodged.

Mr Myers: "Did you interfere with [Child K's] tube?

Letby: "No."

Letby denies being at the cotside when Dr Jayaram entered room 1, and says she does not recall any conversation with Dr Jayaram that night.

Mr Myers refers to a police interview with Letby from July 2018. Letby was asked if she remembered Child K's deterioration - "No" was the answer. Letby said she recalled Child K only as she was a 25-week baby, which was unusual on the unit.

Letby was asked by police if she was present when Child K's ET tube dislodged. "I don't remember."

Letby says she signed for morphine to be administered to Child K. She tells the court she had no involvement with Child K beyond that point.

Letby says in police interview she was not by Child K's incubator at the time Dr Jayaram entered room 1.

She told police if the desaturations dropped to 80s, she would expect the alarm to go off for Child K.

She said to police: "I don't know why the alarm would not have sounded."

Letby was asked by police if she had turned off or deactivated the sound on the monitor. "No."

Letby tells the court "it does happen" that a tube can move "with an active baby".

She told police "tubes can slip if not properly attached".

Letby says if she was there, and had seen the observations drop and/or the tube slip she would have summoned help. She denies being there at that point, or having any involvement in the tube being dislodged, or 'just watching'.

She denies Dr Jayaram's report was accurate.
Exactly, she did deny it in the police interview. They asked her a hypothetical scenario of what she would do if she was there.
