I agree. I think the prosecution witnesses have set a high bar and you’d need a witness of the same calibre with the same strong view on another cause of death as a counterpoint. Not sure we will get that, was just speculating on what might happen if we do.
Oh yes 😬. I really need to catch up before I make any more stupid comments.

Five attempts at a long line.. I don't know how bad that is to be fair, but isn't it usual to try twice then let someone else as skilled have a go?
Again that's the olden days and adults.
Not by any means comparable, however, when I was in labour with my first after fours days in hospital I was forced to have an epidural. I didn’t agree to this I wasn’t in any state to agree to it, but the professional took it out of my hands. I was 18 at the time and this was 16 years ago. It a long story but A trainee attempted the epidural 7 times in my back, getting higher and higher each time. Eventually the experienced
anaesthetist took over, but only after the 7th failed attempt! And it was so far up it didn’t even have the desired effect I could still move my legs and feel everything below my belly button. And the damage was done, the trainee went in too far and caused a CFS leak I was in hospital 2 weeks because the pain was excruciating and I couldn’t lift my head ( I couldn’t hold, change feed or bath my baby properly the midwife’s had to basically do everything). Had to have some procedure done can’t remember the name of it now. Luckily I had no long term damage. I was asked at the time if I wanted to put a complaint in and take it further, I didn’t as I didn’t care, I just cared about my baby. But looking back that shouldn’t have been allowed to happen and someone should have stepped in sooner!

Not sure what to make of all this. The latest evidence isn't looking too good is it, but for me personally I just can't help but feel like she's NG and it's somehow a really bad lot of coincidences. Maybe it is the way she looks, just can't picture someone like that plotting and scheming to murder and maim little tiny babies. ☹

If she guilty one thing I think I can’t get my head around is if Baby A was first baby she murdered, she came in again 24 hrs later and tried to do it again to Baby B ( never mind fact this is the sibling] .
Was there something in home life that happened to escalate it or was it the reaction to Baby A death..
dr Bohin today is giving the same option as Dr evans and the defence for me isn’t making me doubt them

Female serial killers often kill children/babies. I'm sure there will be some psychological studies behind it somewhere.

I totally get what you mean!
Although somehow I don’t know if it’s worse if the deaths were from negligence and bad care in the hospital? As in, if she’s guilty at least she will be locked away forever and can’t harm anyone else. Whereas if it was down to hospital failings, it could happen again so easily in another bad ward 😔

air embolus is something I hadn’t even really heard of before this case but after doing some reading apparently a lot of women used to die of air embolism from illegal abortions ☹

They are talking about her police interview in regards to Baby A and Baby B. It sounds like she could be shifting the blame to the other nurse that was present. I thought it had already been said that Lucy connected the fluids.

I think her account is very similar to the other nurse who was present. The other nurse said she couldn’t remember who connected the fluids and it could have been either of them.

I think she tried to do the same to baby B, so that baby A and B’s deaths would be linked as such and it would be put down to something specific to their pregnancy or genetics.

‘She said she did not recall how upset Child A and B's parents were at the time.’

"Dad was on the floor crying saying 'please don't take our baby away' when we took him to the mortuary. It's just heartbreaking.
"It's the hardest thing I've ever had to do. Hopefully have a more positive one tonight."

🤨 I’m sorry but I think you’d recall this! Hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. Physically typed that the dad was on the floor crying. But three years later you have no memory, I don’t know how significant this is in terms of the case as a whole but it stood out to me and I say bull !!

She said didn’t want to see the parents because of how upset they were.

How can you go from saying it was the hardest thing to do to saying ‘Anyway,…’. It’s like saying oh well never mind.

Yes, she does. It’s relevant evidence but not crucial as she could easily have injected air through the port. Any air further up the line and the infusion pump would have alarmed.
She’s definitely implicating the other nurse.
Just a flippant comment, but has she got something against Nurse MT?

They’ve moved onto agreed facts for Child C, does that mean the defence don’t have any expert witnesses giving evidence for A and B? Or could that come after the agreed facts and prosecution’s evidence for all of the babies?

The significance, combined with how she responds to other things, is credibility. So not evidence in itself but important for the jury to believe her response to things. (Especially if she does come to take the stand). If it’s not credible then you question why is she not telling the truth, what has she got to hide. I wouldn’t expect someone to remember specific details but you would roughly remember the situation that was one of the hardest things you had to do, especially when the police are asking you to remember a certain family.

Neither of them can remember exactly who did it. I think if Taylor knew it was Lucy she would say. It’s possible it was Taylor and she didn’t want to admit it in fear of implicating herself.
