Long term trying to conceive then pregnant

Has anyone been trying to conceive for a long time (for me it’s 2.5 years) and then suddenly (naturally) become pregnant?
I’m hoping for some success stories. I already have a child and I’m due to have a phone call with fertility specialist. Just starting to give up but love hearing stories of ‘when we gave up trying it just happened’ etc

Just looking for a bit of a ‘pick me up’
Thanks

Not me personally but a friend and his now ex wife. They were trying for a few years. Went down the GP route and was under specialists, investigations and tests showed no reason as to why they weren’t conceiving. Then just before they were to have an appointment to start treatment she fell pregnant. I think all in all it was about 2.5-3 years

Again, not me but a friend of mine. She had a little girl and got pregnant straight away but then took 2 years to conceive their next. Had fertility tests done in July, got pregnant naturally while waiting for results!

Good luck!

My parents-married 7 years, tried for babies as soon as they’d said ‘I do’

they lost 3 (two stillborn and a miscarriage) and where told they’d never have kids (they went straight out and bought a dog)

43 years later they have me,my 3 brothers (last two are twins) and 7 grandkids

She wants to go see that doctor, line us all up and say ‘we’d never have kids?eh?eh?how bloody wrong where you?!’

My Mum was trying from when she got married at 24 until she was 37 and eventually got pregnant. She thinks it was her job causing her stress because when she left her old job she got pregnant soon after.

Had a miscarriage and then nothing happened for about 3 years, went out for a fancy meal and cocktails one evening... Had a drunken quickie so to speak and low and behold... Twins! They're 11 months now 😊

Not me, but my friend had her daughter at 26 and tried for ages to have a second baby. Nothing happened, she had all sorts of tests done. Husband had tests done too but doctors just couldn't find anything wrong so she resigned herself to the fact that they'd only ever have one.
At 38 she started feeling very unwell and was afraid something was seriously wrong. Yep, you guessed it. She was pregnant, naturally after 12 years and never using contraception for most of those twelve years. She has no idea how it happened (doctors didn't seem to either) but she had a perfectly healthy baby boy and now has a 2 year old who's absolutely adored by his 14 year old sister.

We tried for over a year for our first. Decided to get a dog instead and a month later I was pregnant.

2nd it wasn't happening. Decided we would go to the GP the month after we hit 18m TTC. I found out a was pregnant on the last day of the month before! So took around 18m

I wasn't actively TTC but was off the pill for 4 years and it never happened.
This time I came off the pill and fell pregnant after 6 weeks different partner though. I'm 38, had just started a fitness programme & cut my smoking back to 2-3 a day (still drank like a sailor though) - that's the only differences I could pinpoint.

My friend, early thirties, tried for 2 years, discovered they both had fertility issues. Had 2 failed rounds of IVF then fell naturally, her little girl is coming up for two and she's pregnant again naturally.

Cousin is also pregnant without intervention after 2.5 years of trying for their second. She had lost weight and all but given up smoking about 4 months previous, though she was not overweight to start, again, nothing else had changed.

Me 🤭

Mum and dad were married for 6 years and wanted a child straight away, nothing was happening. They had all the tests that were available back then, all seemed ok. All they could think of was it might have been Dad's job in the RAF working on Radar affecting him somehow 🤣

Apparently one night he annoyed my mother for some reason, she threw his plate of food at him (which just missed his head and adorned her dining room wallpaper instead, which was probably best as she was always an awful cook) and I was the result of the kiss & make friends session afterwards.

She didn't make that mistake twice though, I am an only child 🤣

It's a bit less time than you've been trying so I hope you don't think I'm being insensitive but I tried for 11 months for my second, I did fertility gel, legs up, tracking temperature, ovulation tests, the lot and barely anything happened in that time (had a chemical pregnancy) I got so fed up and said duck this.. I'm not doing it anymore. Decided to just have sex when I actually wanted it and then first month of doing that it happened!

A friend of mine tried for over 10 years with numerous unsuccessful IVF attempts. Gave up trying aged 45. Had a baby naturally at 46. Fingers crossed for you :)

Hello,
Me and my partner have been TTC since last March, and I’m aware we will have to start having tests etc soon to see why it’s not happening, I was getting really obsessed with tracking it and doing ovulation tests so stopped for a while as people told me to just “go with the flow” and it will happen 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m just convinced that I don’t ovulate, I don’t ever have an symptoms, sometimes the tests look positive to me, but I thought I might just be reading them wrong, so I got digital tests, I took one digital test yesterday and 2 today and they were all negative, but to me all these strip tests look positive? Could someone please tell me if they’re positive, one from today 2 from yesterday..

They do look positive yes. Is the line as dark as the test line? Cos in order for it to be positive it has to be just as dark as the test line. I’m the opposite I’ve NEVER had a positive on those cheap tests. Done so many! But I have had positives on clear blue digitalis. Did you use the digital one as per the instructions? Cos you have to start testing a lot earlier than ovulation. I think on a 28 day cycle you start testing on day 7/8 something like that as it has to get used to your hormones? Also if you use another pack of test sticks you have to keep using the same handle or whatever it’s called. So maybe that’s why you got a negative?

Use an app like premom or glow. You can upload your tests in a photo and it’ll say if it’s high or peak etc

Are those the Premom ones? I’m using them and they look the same. You can download the app for them

We first tried in 2010 (fell quite quickly) had to have a medical termination. Tried again and nothing, got to Decmeber 2011 and decided to get Christmas/new year out of the way and go and discuss with doctor. Was at work and felt a kick in my tummy, took a pregnancy test on my lunch break- POSITIVE, went to the doctors I was about 8 months pregnant, baby born March 2012, then fell quickly again, had 2nd baby in 2013 then fell again with twins in 2014!! Never give up hope. Miracles do happen 😊
