Not sure about that. I've seen her live and she's pretty much moving around the stage all the time whilst singing - her level of fitness is way higher than mine and I'm fairly slim.
I don't doubt it's entirely possible to be both overweight and have a decent level of cardio fitness, especially when you're still quite young and, like Lizzo, it's what you're doing all the time, moving around and singing. The problems tend to pop up later in life - often around your 40s. Diabetes, joint issues etc.

Lizzo was in my store years ago with Quinn, who was at the time her bff and stylist. I find it interesting that Quinn isn’t with her anymore and the statement she gave about why.

Wasn’t she in a blind a while ago, something about her being an industry plant or something?

She was never good. People liked her cos it made them feel good about liking a fat singer and saying “but she’s soOOOoOo talented and she can dance and play flute!”

she always sucked

I'm wondering if Lizzo's fans are actually the kind of people to put their money where their mouth is. They might be young social media people who will click like, but not actually buy an album.

Resurrecting this thread because she's back... in a way...? Apparently her new album only sold 5,000 copies?

I didn't even hear she had a new album.
I've never heard any of her music that I'd liked, and I'm old and saying this as someone only tangentially aware of her, so I'm gonna go ahead and say that, from what I was made aware of, her size seems to be a very big factor in her persona.

But we're living in a post Ozempic era, and things have flipped completely, and I don't think anyone's interested in that sort of persona anymore.

The music industry, like many industries, is what have you done for me lately. Unfortunately, unless you are Taylor Swift level of fame, people forget about your music fast.

I liked a couple of her songs. I didn't like all the body positive crap, she was overweight but luckily for her she had youth on her side. If she continued overweight she would probably get bigger and no doubt with all the health issues associated with it. I think it's good to be confident and comfortable in your own skin but let's not disguise obesity as something positive...
