Some friends of ours were there. Massive football and especially Liverpool fans. Thankfully they are fine but very shaken up by what happened.

I was in Liverpool in 2023 for work and the people were so friendly. What a devastating end to a lovey celebration.

It was funny last night watching the same old faces like Farage, Robinson, Fox, Grimes etc getting so worked up about this and saying we are all in terrible danger it’s all Starmers fault, and then the denial and fury when police announced it was a ‘white British male’ ‘it’s a cover up, they’re lying’ and then finally when footage proved it was a while middle aged man ‘oh he accidentally drove down the street, got surrounded by rowdy football fans and panicked’. ducks sake the footage shows him deliberately driving into the crowd and running people over, but because it’s one of their own it has to excused in some way. These brain dead toxic masculine cretins are what’s really wrong with this country. White, straight middle aged men are the most entitled group of people in the planet. The bloke looks like the epitome of gammon from the photos I’ve seen, im wondering how they will try and justify his drunk/drug driving next?

It’s a relief to wake up and hear no deaths. I just hope this stays the same. What is concerning is the posts I read on here saying they had friends/ knew people working in hospitals saying four people dead etc.

Exactly. No one is saying it's justified or sane. We've watched videos and got an understanding of the circumstances leading up to the attack.

Believe me there's plenty in the city gutted it's not Mahmood aswell, I know a good few of them myself, but you're set upon unless you pretend its an anti racist haven. Reform came second in Liverpool across many constituencies.

Very true. You never know who's behind the wheel of a car. Could be the exact type who'd kick someone's head in for bumping into him and spilling his pint, and it has taken the smallest off triggers to kick him off.

I'm in town today; from Moorfields station (Dale St) to the Town Hall is cordoned off. There is appr 12 police cars and riot vans in that stretch alone. Then the cordon starts again at the Town Hall and carries on down to The Strand and there's loads of police cars and vans there too, with a massive police tent that looks like a bouncy castle, weirdly.

If anyone knows Lucaya coffee shop, there's a massive police van which is sat right across the street - it's like the size of a double decker bus. (all the businesses in that whole area are closed - gutted for them).

Absolutely tragic that the memories of what should have been a joyous occasion and memory will be marred by horror and disaster. I really hope those injured recover quickly and well, although the mental trauma is hard to imagine

It’s absolutely heartbreaking what happened yesterday, regardless of what anyone thinks about football, their fans etc a day of celebration shouldn’t have ended like that.
We obviously don’t know the facts but regardless of that, it shouldn’t have happened. Children had to witness that, and will be scared for life, and the poor children that were injured it’s just appalling. I sincerely hope that those who are injured make a full recovery.
I find it rather upsetting that people on this thread are using it as an opportunity to bash Liverpool. Every major city in the UK has its problems. I don’t recall people bashing Manchester for “breeding terrorists” because let’s not forget that horror that blew the arena up was born in Manchester!! At that time people come together and supported the city, not bash it, same as any other city when major incidents have happened. Anyway that’s my two pence, sending love to all that have been affected by today’s events

TBH, i wouldn't believe a word from any witnesses at this point. keep in mind we've got friends of 'nurses' working at the local hospitals coming on here saying more than a handful of people were killed, i'm just going to treat everything as hearsay and idle gossip until there's been time to investigate.
