It was hard to swatch them as the light isn’t great this time of year but I tried my best.
First 2 pics are indoors by a window and the 3rd is outside.
From top to bottom:
Spinel
Painterly
Medici
One swipe in the left column and 2 swipes in the right.
Tbh I’m surprised how similar they all are.
Spinel does have the “ frosting” which the camera hasn’t picked up - it’s more noticeable on the lips.
Painterly is very similar to Spinel but without the shimmer.
Medici has more of a plum undertone whereas I’d say the other two have more of a brown undertone.

That's a really useful swatch. They look so similar. I have painterly and also Simone in rouge experience abd find those somewhat similar so this tells me I can skip spinel as I'm only really missing out on shimmer.

Tbh Spinel is probably my least favourite LE lipstick. I’ve only worn it once but it was much frostier on me than I was expecting.
Having been through the frosted lipstick era in the 80s, perhaps I’m too old to do it second time round!

I’d say Spinel is slightly browner than Painterly but if you wanted a shimmer you could always wear Painterly with a shimmery lip gloss.

I find Simone and Romy very similar to each other - one is just slightly warmer than the other.

I think my most worn LE lipstick is Kitten Mischief. It’s a much more flattering nude than CT Pillowtalk.
I also like Baume Embrace. I have them all except the newest one. I wear them all regularly because they leave my lips smooth and I don’t need a full face of make up to wear them as they are very subtle.

Heather Shimmer - there’s a blast from the past! I preferred Avon’s Iced Champink on me! There was also Twilight Teaser that all my friends loved but it didn’t look so good on me.

I have all three and when I saw your swatches, I thought oh, I’m sure they would swatch differently on me. Nope. The swatches were, as you pointed out, surprisingly similar, though I think the undertones on the lips are different. Spinel on me is quite warm and looks nothing like the other two when swatched. And Painterly is slightly cooler than Medici as well, which is a bit plummier on me. But yes — VERY similar tones! Thanks for doing this.

I think you’ve just saved me quite a lot of money! Painterly is similar enough to these for me to pass.

Twilight teaser was the lilac one everyone loved. I liked Heather Shimmer and coffee shimmer for those sophisticated grown up days

Apart from some interesting editorial looks with frosted grunge colours I really don’t get the frosted revival. Reminds me of an old aunt.

I don't look at all good in shimmer so I'm resisting all the very persuasive content out there. I mean Ruby looks so gorgeous and if it landed down my chimney I would give a little cry of delight - but I just know on me it would look off and would accentuate all the natural crinkles in my lips in a way I wouldn't be happy with.
