I have just discovered the Lily Phillips topic this week and watched the documentary last night. A few thoughts in no particular order;
1. I found the sleeping with 100 men stunt harrowing. Agree with other posters that her “team” showed almost zero regard for her safety and well-being. I wanted that guy Josh to just hug her and tell her she didn’t need to go ahead with what she’d planned, that she was worthy. The saddest part for me was when she sat down at the table to eat that sorry Nando’s and not a single person there sat down with her. They were all scurrying about on some kind of high that they’d pulled it off and she was discarded. Shameful for everyone involved.
2. The 1000 men idea simply won’t work. 24 hours in a day, 60 mins in each = 1440 minutes. 1440/1000=1.44 minutes per man. It’s just not logistically possible. And she was saying she thought she could do it in 17 hours.
3. I would love to know what a gynaecologist made of it all. Even aside from the SDI risk, I bet Lily caused some permanent damage on the 100 men day; whether she knows it now or not. There is some point at which the body will just shut down, and I reckon is at less than 1000 back to back sexual interactions. I’m terrified for her if she goes ahead with it.
4. It was desperately sad and degrading that she felt bad that not all men managed to finish. Josh needed to ask her how many of those 100 men satisfied *her*, turned her on, made her climax. It’s not a one way street. They are all despicable humans for partaking in that event. I’d be horrified if I knew any of them.
And finally,
5. I’m not sure why she’s the hero in my mind but I would love Olivia Attwood to get hold of this and make some kind of intervention. Her documentaries on OF were good - she’s involved in the showbiz industry (and close enough to the seedy side) to be relevant and she’s bright and articulate enough to challenge what she sees. Someone needs to grab Lily by the shoulders and give her head a wobble. We’re watching a car crash in slow motion and it’s agony.
Gah, sorry for the essay. I’m so disturbed by it all.
