Agree. You can say you ‘love sex’ until you’re blue in the face, but what Lily is doing isn’t ‘sex’ by any healthy definition. I find the whole thing just so, so sad. I watched the documentary and I thought she came across as quite sweet. She didn't seem confident at all and so I'm even more shocked that she's doing all of this. I did get the feeling she doesn't like herself though. She talked quite negatively about herself and I felt that when the documentary guy started asking more probing questions she got uncomfortable and would try and bat them away by saying something she thought was shocking. It was like she kept using the 'I just love sex' line to every question too. Which makes me think that alot of it is just bravado at times. She's also incredibly naive, dangerously so. Not just that she didn't know how you caught HIV but the security aspect of her job. It's just sad, and I feel so sad that there are men who queue up for this sort of thing. It actaully makes me depressed about society. I know sex exists, prostitution exists. Iv got nothing against sex work or sex. But it's the whole attitude of treating women like shit during sex and normalising the violence that's creeping in. And it would only take one weirdo to get fixated on her, and he would think she's fair game to do what he wants on her. I just worry for the younger generation- what will they think is 'normal' in sex?
I do feel its some sort of self abuse on her part, I just can't see how she can enjoy this life. I feel desperately sorry for her that she thinks this is somehow fulfilling.
