Of course she's not going to be bothered about helmets. She leaves them alone for hours while she self cares herself to oblivion. You think she's moany and negligent now. Just wait until the new baby arrives, she's gonna need all the 'hour to mahselffff' she bangs on about.

I don’t think anyone’s picking on it...just saying we’ve noticed it looks different to her other nails. I noticed little things like that 🤣
Just find it strange picking up on things like that and posting it that's all 😂

Oh I'm so glad people are talking about helmets. I thought I was being over bearing making my 6 year old wear his helmet on the scooter to school. A little girl in his class was scooting next to us and said "oh I don't have to wear my helmet for the scooter just my bike".

A part of me thought "if your head hits the floor it hits the floor". But I will continue because like others have said, one small accident can lead to major life changes.

100% they’d hit the ground from the same sort of height and the pavement doesn’t stop being hard cause they’re riding a scooter. You’re definitely not being overbearing, you’re being sensible!

My son has a brain injury from birth. It’s the hardest thing to live with I wish she would put helmets on the kids. Isla was going very fast

Even if they are not going fast, one small stone or dip on the pavement and could still end in disaster. Kids are fearless and don’t think of the what ifs. My son doesn’t even attempt to go on his bike or scooter without his helmet now as it’s never been negotiable.

Kids on scooters with no helmets are one of my biggest bug bears ahhhhhhhhh
I’ve just sat down for a little scroll and saw her scooter story. My heart would was in my mouth. It takes nothing to loose balance and they would be off those scooters. I know that people have choice, but I don’t understand why people turn against safety equipment like helmets. We’ve spent all day at the (very secluded) beach out on the kayaks and the amount of people on the water bit wearing buoyancy aids is frightening.

We buckle our children into car seats so why wouldn’t you use safety equipment else where?

One of my best friends is a neurosurgeon and has told me about cases where she has operated on youngsters who have had scooter/bike accidents with no helmet.

Has anyone ever messaged her before? Does she reply? I feel like I want to say something. My husband thinks I’m interfering and shouldn’t.

I feel as though it wouldn't matter. She was happy to watch them go at speed down a slope. If they don't usually wear them why would she buy them now (waiting for gifted helmets....)

It's like the cutting grapes argument. You weigh up the risk against your own child and go with the flow.

She’s probably shown that video of the girls on their scooters with no helmets on purpose so some company gifts them to her!

I think you tell the parent of the 13 year old boy who died alone in hospital from the virus and his family not being able to attend his funeral that they should 'just be kind' to Dominic Cummings.

My team member who's father in law died after being on life support having to break the news to her young son who then was not able to attend his funeral or see his grandmother to grieve, tell her to 'just be kind' to him.

The families who have said their goodbyes over facetime. The families who haven't been able to have their partners or support during labour and birth. The families who are yet to meet their newest members. The vulnerable children and women who have faced months of abuse stuck at home. Ask them to 'just be kind' to Dominic Cummings flagrant disregard for the very guidelines he made.

I think you're barking up the wrong tree here. The general be kind message just does not extrapolate to this situation when there are so many lives that have been affected so negatively and for how many years to come? These are people who are supposed to lead by example and I'm sorry, this is a pretty piss poor example. So no, I won't lose sleep over whether someone who felt quite comfortable with sacrificing some of the most vulnerable in society as a strategy at the beginning of all of this, is at home feeling a little targeted tonight.
Amen sista!!

Tbf I have messaged her in the past a couple of times and she has replied both times.
But yes, I was the same with the scooter videos! My heart was in my mouth. And then I realised, I only make my children wear helmets when they’re on a bike. Defo going to make them when they are on their scooters now. Don’t honestly know why I thought of them differently to bikes!
